This looks like it may be an OK mod, aside from a lot of the errors people are getting, but I have 2 qustions:
1) What exactly is with the /z/ directory? I like to keep my urls and directories nice and neat, so am I forced to have that /z/? 2) What exactly is involved between me and zoints.com? I know I have to register there for a key, but what does it do with my forum and/or members? I saw someone mention somehting about "giving" their members to zoints? |

As far as your second question, no you are not "giving your members to Zoints". The only person on your site who would need to have an account at zoints.com is you yourself. If any of your members do register at Zoints, there is a profile linking option that they can enable, but again, it is not necessary for any of your users to be registered on zoints.com in order to use the Zoints Local profile system. |
Two quick questions,
1) Do you have to use the Zoints styled profile page, or can you chose to leave it as the normal vbulletin one? 2) If people use the built in blog feature, Do their blogs show up in the New Posts section? We find this useful for having peoples blogs noticed more rather than not knowing they are even there. 3) Can people comment on other peoples blogs? |

If you install the Zoints Profile system, obviously the Zoints Profile pages are going to be there for your users. You do have options to run the vB profile system side by side, though we find this tends to confuse users and lead to some of them using one system and some using the other, which isn't really a great way to build the social networking aspect of your community. New blog entries, as well as recently updated profiles, tag clouds and other useful updates are all viewable on the Community Central page to hep drive traffic back to the blogs and profiles. And yes, of course people can comment on other peoples blogs :) |
wow.
good to see zoints still kickin. I was all over local until vbull did their own stuff and zoints seemed to die for a bit with the takeover. that said, i may consider zoints again considering, I'm still very interested in this as I loved the ajax drag-drop and I did lose a ton of backlinks (and GoogPR) when switched back to vbull. :( So questions/concerns: Duplicate feature confusion... I agree that using zoints and profiles would be confusing... but it seems such a shame to not utilize existing vb features if moved to zoints local as well. So:
In general I have issue with images on my forums. Users currently can upload to threads as attachments, vbphotopost gallery (had this before albums came around), and vbull Albums (still struggling with how to deal with this). Now if I did zoints local, would I have be to be adding zoints photos albums to the confusion? man I wish there was just one system that seemlessly integrated all. ps. I have a big-board. So we need to be sure zoints is in it for the long haul and will maintain updates! |
One other question! If you use the Zoints profile page instead of vBulletins default one will it move things over? For instance, will all of the profile comments that have been made, show up on the new Zoints profile page? Or will they just vanish? And things like the users albums aswell.
Thanks |

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=251 Any ideas for fixing it? All i know about my server is that it is a Windows server if thats any help |
