Not there, and chances are there never will be due to lack of time.

Snake 02-13-2006 12:32 PM

Aww that's bad. Well I'm hoping to see someone who will work further more on this hack. :(

Mr.Dosa 02-13-2006 01:01 PM

Thank you

rrokdoka 02-13-2006 04:48 PM

No one can help me out on this one?

AN-net 02-13-2006 06:47 PM

Hi all,

This is Anthony Scudese, the original author of vB Journal. I am very proud to let you all know I am working on vB Journal 1.5. Andreas did a great job porting over 1.0.x of vB Journal and I congratulate him for that. Since he will be unable to finish porting vB Journal I would like to assure you all that vB Journal will continue development on the 3.5.x platform. Currently 1.5 is only available on the 3.0.x platform but when it reaches gold I will port it over to 3.5. I currently need beta testers to find any bugs in the vB Journal 1.5 core before I port it. I am also still adding features so you guys can squeeze any features in until I reach release candidate. Basically the more testers I get for 3.0.x version the faster I can port it. So download 3.0.x and give a helping hand.

vB Journal 1.5.0 for 3.0.x

For those asking about the T_PRIVATE PHP5 problem.

thanks, works great :)

influence 02-14-2006 06:55 PM

can someone show me what code I need to put on vbadvanced to it to show the latest journal entries?

I know there was one for the old one but I can't find one for vb 3.5.3

influence 02-14-2006 07:35 PM

nm. found that. How about how can I show the last 5 journal entries for members profile instead of 1?

yes except that this version of vB Journal in this thread is for 3.5.x, for 3.0.x check out the 3.0.x forums. you will have modify the templates to get their look.

ahmedbehiry 02-15-2006 01:18 PM

thank you soooooo much for such a great plug in :)

I just need to ask about something, isn't there a way that the members get notification emails if there are comments on their enteries?

vB Journal 1.5.0 for 3.0.x

Hi Anthony,

Sorry I can't help out on testing for 3.0, but if you need beta testers for 3.5 then I'll be first in line.

Just checking, but will it be easy enough to upgrade from the current 3.5 vBjournal hack (v1) to your new v1.5. I'd like to get vBjournal on my site as soon as possible, but not sure whether I should run the current 3.5 VBJv1 and then upgrade, or just wait for your new 3.5 VBJv1.5?

Sorry if this has been covered before:

Is my mind playing tricks or did there used to be a "Can this user have a journal?" option when looking at User in "User Manager" in the Admin CP?

Or is there another way to mark an individual user as a naughty boy and not let them have a journal?

BeatificFaith 02-18-2006 12:46 PM

Is there a way to mass add moods instead of adding one at a time?

*edit* Nm, I just used SQL to add them all .

Reeve of shinra 02-19-2006 12:16 AM

I'm having an odd issue... I upgraded the journal from 3.0 to 3.5 and when users are adding a comment, the date/time and the commenters name show up, but not the comment itself. Comments made from 3.0 are however showing up. The newly added comments are in the db though.

I am using the 3.5 journal default templates.

rrokdoka 02-19-2006 04:02 PM

How do you put different moods... i cant get no moods =[

blueintr 02-20-2006 03:48 AM

OK. I must be missing something. I have the software installed on a clean 3.5.3 board. Through the admin cp I can reach the vbJournal settings screens without a problem. When I log in to my board, I see the JOURNAL item in the navbar. I click, pick MU JOURNAL, and get a message that I do not have permission to access the page. I am the Administrator. What did I miss?

ahmedbehiry 02-20-2006 03:55 AM

You have to change the settings of the Admin user group :)

blueintr 02-20-2006 04:31 AM

Thank you for for the help, ahmedbehiry. Too close to the problem to see the obvious. It is working now.

You must still be using the old journal templates ... revert. ;)

akanevsky 02-21-2006 10:26 AM

Can someone please post screenshots for this?

Brand new default style added for 3.5 with only the templates the 3.5 journal installer added - nothing to revert.

jbj 02-23-2006 01:48 AM

sorry for my ignorance. what exactly does this mod do?

LadyJo 02-23-2006 07:12 AM

wanted to say, have this installed seemlessly on 3.5.3 working beautifully.. tested everything...

******ladyjo clicks install*******

also if you need a transparent type default button set, I can do it for you, just tell me what file format and type you need.

WolfsongNevan 02-24-2006 04:12 AM

Any way this will work with mySQL 4.1+ in the future?

hookjd 02-24-2006 03:06 PM

I just downloaded this now (Feb 24, 06) and the readme identifies it as: 1.0.2 Alpha 1. Is the readme just not updated? Or am I missing something?

Andreas 02-24-2006 03:13 PM

Yeah, the readme is slightly outdated ^.^

TunerNetwork 02-24-2006 09:10 PM

is the update for php 5 done yet?

Hmm ... I was going by memory, I had the same problem once and I'm sure it had something to do with the templates. :surprised:
I'll see if I can find out what it was and how I fixed it.

Pcparts 02-25-2006 07:27 PM

I have a problem with journals, I am not sure if this is known already.

Members cannot do a search in journals. Eventhough it is enabled, and Admins can run a search within journals. Only thing is that members themself cannot run a search. They get to see an error message saying they might have no access...

Andreas 02-25-2006 07:31 PM

Did you triple-check permissions?

LadyJo 02-25-2006 08:17 PM

no problem here, I am just really curious what the "Now Playing:" text input is for??
