Many thanks to Erwin, who caught a few bugs, and, as you can see above, wrote a few modifications to the hack for anyone who might want to alter some of the functionality. :)

Oh, I was referring to the ones listed in this thread. Most of them are pretty straightforward. Some I deliberately decided not to include, but others might have some use for them. Just wanted to thank him for his time and effort. :)

1) is it me or, no matter how many seconds u put as per limit, if you don't answer due to time limit, quiz thinks you answered right?!?!

2) do you people get this "Could not find phrase 'quiz_already_taken'" when trying to redo a quiz already completed?

3) we're only 89 registered members. I don't know the 89, may be just 5 or 6 people, but i have my quiz set up so you can only do quizzes once. Now, a quiz reports it has been completed...105 times!!!

Even if the switch would not be working correctly, it would also mean ALL of the users did the quiz or most of them did it twice!!

Ne1 else suffering from this?

sabret00the 08-12-2004 08:31 AM

i'm wondering if it's just me or is that every quiz a user submits the correct answer defaults to the first option?

I PMd you about this some time ago. I don't think I've heard back yet:

sabre: I have a patch for that. It has afflicted a few users. I'll have it right out to you.

Areku 08-12-2004 03:09 PM

RE: 1) haven't tried yet
RE: 2) I guess it's just not me...;)
RE: 3) Initially i had the option "allow redo the quiz" to yes but quickly turned it off... Now counts are more "normal"... will let u know if problem ever reappears ;)

RE sabre problem, I do think I suffered from that problem too... what's the patch about? ;)

Areku 08-12-2004 03:10 PM

Btw, any addon to show the all time score cards? ;)

bjornstrom 10-14-2004 07:18 AM

We bought the vBQuiz 2.0 for vBulletin 3+ and we have some probs. Check it out here: http://99mac.se/forum/quiz.php

Some members start the quizzes at the second or fourth question even if they have never done it before. Also some images dont show and its very slow. Any answers? Please PM.

Hi bjorn. Could you email me a list of problems to me? The speed is probably nothing that can be fixed; it runs fine for me on several different servers, so I'd have to imagine it's a host issue.

As for the second or fourth question...there's probably a problem with the displayorder. I'll fire a PM off to you with my email address so I can help you get to the bottom of it. :)

pgowder 10-14-2004 03:24 PM

Where can I get vBQuiz 2.0??

VViper 10-23-2004 04:24 AM

Hey TWT...

I bought this hack and really like it. So do my members. I was wondering if there were any upgrades planned? Kind of looking forward to "usergroup permissions" integration... :nervous:

This is one of the features that I installed on my forums to intice people to join and post, unfortunately, currently anyone can play, guests and all...

I'm not sure how that could be. The hack, as written, requires that members be registered to take a quiz.

Hi TWT. You would know best, that's for sure. I was ASSUMING that guests could play it. You have cleared that up. Sorry about that. I sure don't want to talk bad about a great hack. I just assumed that because there was no usergroup settings in AdminCP that this was the case.

However, I run my site on a series of semi-complex promotions. And I don't want every registered member to be able to play.

I want only three groups to be able to play:

- Administrators
- Moderators
- Registered Users (who have posted)

I guess this is the jist of what I am asking about.

psoexplorer 03-20-2005 08:05 PM

I'm trying to install this, I read about 20-ish pages so far to find the answer to my problem but when I realised there were 66 I thought no way. So I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

I cant run the install_quiz.php - it's a blank page. What am I doing wrong? I've uploaded all 3 files to the correct folders, but when I go to www.mysite.com/forum/admincp/install_quiz.php I just get a blank white page.

This hack is quite old, and only runs on vBulletin 2.x.

tnguy3n 03-21-2005 06:46 PM

I already have, actually, and it's available as a commercial hack. :)

psoexplorer 03-21-2005 07:00 PM

No chance of a free version then? Oh well.

flex22 04-12-2005 11:31 AM

Hmm, how would you pay for it then? I just clicked download and the download started.

Anyway I'm running vb 3.07, I'll PM you TWTCommish, this looks like just what I'm after.

TWTCommish 04-12-2005 01:28 PM

Just to clear things up: the hack in this thread is for vBulletin 2.x. It's no longer supported, but should still work for anyone who's running an old enough version of vB.

Do you have a link that I can go to so that I can purchase this hack? :)

Holidazed 07-06-2005 04:39 PM

Is this hack going to be re-written for vBB v3.5?? This is an awesome addition and would hate to lose it. In addition, I have paid for it.

tormodg 08-16-2005 07:08 AM

Yup, same question here - I have paid for the vb3 version of the hack. I'd gladly pay for an upgrade, too, if it materializes. :)

echee 10-10-2005 08:23 AM

Great hack TWTCommish

Can I ask if quizpro allows for every quiz question to be displayed on a new page? (1 page per question)

lmongello 10-12-2005 02:16 AM

Things not looking too good here... Continually getting this error message via email:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.6:

Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO quiz_temp (user_aid, user_qid, userid, timecheck, timeout) VALUES (, 2, 5407, 1129073524, 0) mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ' 2, 5407, 1129073524, 0)' at line 1

mysql error number: 1064

Any thoughts, help? Thanks!

We can hope anyway.. ;)

Boofo 12-07-2005 08:55 AM

Zero Tolerance did one for 3.5 that works quite well.

Snake 02-04-2006 05:30 PM

Is there any live demo for this or screenshots at least?

vinod 02-20-2006 08:03 AM

I uploaded the files, but I cannot get it installed. I am running vBulletin 3.5.3, and I cannot move on getting a cpheader() function error.

Please help me install this.

Thank you
