i've gone over this installation three times now and read all 64 pages of this thread to try and figure out what i'm doing wrong....it's still not working, nor is it even showing up at all!!

Just insert it anywhere you want in 2.3.0's showthread, it works fine.

Theres 2 occurances of the show next/prev links, one above the posts, and one below. Just scroll down you'll find it.

If you put it in the wrong spot, you'll know.

Not sure if this is what your taliking about, but $replybox goes in the showthread template, not showthread.php.

I think I have it for you guys, heres what worked for ME at least.

1:
I DOWNLOADED showthread.php and edited it manually for step 1. Had to search partial lines, but found it.

2:
I created a new template in control panel for step 2.

3:
In control panel I opened showthread and placed the line where I show you as an example below:

Installed on every vBulletin version from 2.2.x to 2.3.x without problem! And so cool to see this as a default feature in vBulletin 3 :)

I've installed this on every version since 2.1, and I've never had any problem. Read the instructions more carefully if it's not working. I'm not trying to be an arse, but this is an easy hack. Hell, even I did it back when I knew nothing about installing hacks, so it can't be that tough. ;)

It was an easy hack, but I missed one thing , many times instructions arent always real clear whether to hack files or via control panel, especially to newer hackers. My previous hacking, for example, was with UBB, this isnt the same. Frankly, I fail to see how it helps for people to reply to say they did it, with so many people saying that cant. Only seems to make threads longer and harder for people to read through.

So what's the problem you're having? Just reply back with your problem, and people can try and help you. Also, be sure to use the Search This Thread function.

It's impossible to help anyone unless they have a clue what went wrong, or can at least tell us what kind of problem they're having. I mean, if they just say, "It doesn't work", there isn't anything anyone can say or do, really. I've been there myself a few times. It can be frustrating. :ermm: Basically, we just wanted to assure you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hack. It does indeed work perfectly.
