The option to change the text box above the shouts would be great . also the other options the smiles , font color and ect

DragonByte Tech 04-28-2011 04:41 PM

That's a Pro-only feature :)

Weekly updates -.-

DragonByte Tech 04-28-2011 08:09 PM

We felt it was best to immediately update the mod as soon as bugs were fixed instead of leaving them out there until we could release a huge roll-up release, in order to attempt to restore people's experience to a near-perfect one as soon as possible :)

I think he means a bbcode toolbar :)

Reaper255 04-29-2011 05:04 PM

I keep getting "Error not found" when trying to enter a shout

Here is my site http://poke-center.com/forum/forum.php

DragonByte Tech 04-29-2011 05:20 PM

It looks like your process_templates_complete or global_setup_complete hooks aren't executing properly.

Unfortunately I don't know how to rectify this, please try re-importing the vB4 XML file.

Fillip

Reaper255 04-29-2011 05:27 PM

My site broke lol can I pm you my info so you can fix it?

Ok I managed to fix my mistake but still have that error.

DragonByte Tech 04-29-2011 05:31 PM

If you send me FTP and AdminCP with Can Admin Plugins I can solve it for you :)

Hello,

I just installed your add-on, and I am really impressed with the options that are available. What I am wondering is how I might set up a Shoutbox in any perticular Forum. Currently, it is sitting on the ForumHome, and I would like to place it in different Categories, or Topics.

Secondly, I am going to be using a chat option as a Debate. This is probably outside of the scope of your add-on, but maybe not. I am wondering if I could create a tab in the navbar that I could mandate that a user choose a side, and are directed to a group as they arrive in the chat forum that has two or more shout boxes side by side.

Example would be in the tab is Group A, and Group B, And Group C, etc. They would then be directed to a specific ShoutBox once they clicked the link in the tab of the navbar. I am not usually good at putting my thoughts in words, but I hope that you get the idea.

Thanks in Advance.
Hawk

That's something vB does with its backgrounds I believe.

If you set the Automatic Display to Disabled and follow the instructions in the descriptions you can control the positioning of the shoutbox.

An example "if condition" to place it in a specific forum is <vb:if condition="$foruminfo['forumid'] == 5">

That is sadly outside the scope :(

how can you change the font size in, because I have to modify a template.
This would also benefit from an input field

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

wie kann man die Schriftgröße in ändern, muß ich da eine Template abändern.
Hierfür wäre auch ein Eingabefeld von Vorteil

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Change the Shoutbox Deployment setting to include the script names of all the pages you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter index, vbcms for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd remove the contents of this setting.

Step 4: Change the Manually Display Shoutbox setting to include the template names you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter FORUMHOME,vbcms_page for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd enter navbar for this setting.

Step 5: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw vbshout} (vB4) or {$vbshout} (vB3) to the templates you named in Step 4 in the desired location.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Hope that helps :)

I'm not seeing the Shoutbox Deployment option.

DragonByte Tech 05-02-2011 12:53 AM

These are the 5.4.x instructions:

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Write down the the Varname setting. For the default shoutbox, it's instance1. The rest of this guide will assume you replace instance1 with the actual Varname if it is different.

Step 4: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw show.vbshout_instance1} (vB4) or {$show[vbshout_instance1]} (vB3) to the templates you wish the shoutbox to appear in.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Is there a way to make allll notifications including new thread / post alerts to be ONLY under the notification tab?

DragonByte Tech 05-02-2011 03:51 PM

The Pro version allows users to hide them from the main view and only use the respective tabs for them :)

is this what i would do to move it on the same page, for instance my sb is above my donate bar and i want it to be under it would i use this

DragonByte Tech 05-02-2011 10:01 PM

Yeah, you'd need to move it to below whatever hook location that mod is using.

Unfortunately I have no way of knowing what that location is, so I can't really assist further :(

security patch. people were able to inject sql or html. Can't remember which.

Dozer826 05-05-2011 08:31 PM

For the life of me I cant find the PM settings. When I try to pm someone it says the administrators have disabled it for your usergroup.

Am I missing any settings options?

Thanks bud. I actually figured it out like 5 mins ago when I checked the Enable Context Menu so we're all good.

Installed it last night and my guys are going nuts! We had a good chatbox before but they are loving this one.

Great work!

I believe that's a generic vBulletin phrase.

Sorry, that's not a problem in vBShout - we don't use fetch_template() in our code. You have a vB3 mod still installed on your site - try disabling all other mods and keep refreshing until it works :)

DynaMow 05-07-2011 09:26 PM

I will try. Nice quick answer, very nice. Thank you!!

DynaMow 05-07-2011 09:35 PM

I am no expert, very far from it.

I went and disabled all products under manage products. If those are the only ones. But nothing changed, anymore ideas?

DragonByte Tech 05-07-2011 09:42 PM

It seems like your vBulletin installation may be damaged. It's reporting as vBulletin 3 yet your files appear to be vBulletin 4.

Did you have any problems while upgrading vBulletin?

Hello

Is it possible the next update the BB code, with pictures.
Then you would have to enter is not always the BB code manually.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hallo

Besteht die Möglichkeit beim nächsten Update auch die BB Codes mit Bildern darzustellen.
Dann müsste man nicht immer die BB Codes händisch eingeben.
