For those of you looking for a working similar mod, there is this one, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...847&highlight=[dbtech]

I just installed the dbtech tabs hack but it's VERY confusing to use, to the point that I can't even tell if it's working properly or not. And they aren't the best when it comes to instructions of how to use. I may be deleting it later. If I can't figure it out my members certainly won't be able to. There is a 3rd tabbed hack that looked more straight forward to use. Now if I could only find it again....

yea I agree, this one is way better and also dbtech puts annoying links in footers, not my cup of tea

I was thinking same thing. I wasted money on it buying the pro version and it's confusing

Bubble #5 08-28-2013 05:16 PM

OK, here's an update; the other hack that said it was for tabs really wasn't for tabs. It simply added drop down menus and navbar buttons. Since these functions are already available for 4.2.1 in the nav manager, I deleted it.

Still looking for a better Tab hack, or a way to get this one to work with 4.2.1 :)

Yeah their pricing structure is not set up very well. If I went pro with every hack of theirs that I have, I could easily instead buy another license for vB. Plus it's not upgradable, meaning when I upgrade to vB 5.x all of my money for going to their 4.x pro versions would have been wasted, and I'd have to buy them all over again. Not a very good investment, and I'm not a bank, so that's why I never purchased any of their stuff, but they are good coders :)

Once you get your head around it it is brilliant

Bubble #5 08-29-2013 03:47 PM

If it's not straightforward and easy to use, then it's worthless. All it's going to achieve is to confuse my members who are only going to send me mountains of PM's about how its not working. I have it disabled now, the next step is to delete it if I can't figure it out soon :erm:

I have the same issue. I am using a transparent skin. But the tabbed forums are white. Can anyone suggest how to fix it.

thunderclap82 09-12-2013 02:00 AM

Is it possible to get the tabs showing in other forums (sub forums?), not just the main forum display?

Same here...

MrsTryst 09-26-2013 07:20 PM

Any update on this?

I tried the dbtech one, but the tabs are far from appealing and tbh, it looks a bit......cheap, too bunched up. If they were in simple, clean tabs like this one, then maybe i'd keep it

I agree MrsTryst, dbtech mods are not exactly known for their aesthetic appeal LOL:D I've had to delete at least 3 of them because of this. Unfortunately I don't think this one will be updated, but that doesn't mean a coder isn't working on a new tabbed mod now. I'll keep my eyes open for you, and if I see anything I'll post a link for you here :)

Dragon Byte has an amazing mod that does just that. It allows forum members to add theirfavorite forums into one drop down tab that you can create from the admin cp.

It's not free but it is robust and very granular.

Thanks.

If you edit the templates of a parent style they will be used in the child templates as they are hierarchy. So you should not need to edit all styles in most cases.

thunderclap82 11-28-2013 04:51 PM

I have two themes on my site, one light and one dark. I tried changing the color scheme of this mod and it affects both themes. In one it looks fine, but the other it doesn't match. Is it possible to have separate color schemes for each theme?

DefiantComplex 01-24-2014 03:45 PM

Works fine on 4.2.2

Caillou 02-18-2014 05:39 AM

Great mod, working on 4.2.2

Is it possible, that every style has its own default tab?

Either disable warnings or open the files includes/class_eg_tfh_yui.php and replace mysql_escape_string with mysql_real_escape_string at all places.

K4GAP 07-06-2014 04:22 PM

This has got to be one of the very best mods on here.

ZeroHour,

I´m just curious - has anyone reported or experienced a drop in SEO after installing TFH? In most - if not any - cases, spiders can´t understand AJAX and so they cant read, whats behind the other Tabs and only gather the links and informations on the starting Tab. Just wondering if this could have an impact on SEO, indexed pages and rankings.

On my end - even with vbSEO, sitemap generation etc - we had a noticable drop in most search engine indexes. I´m just trying to find out, if TFH could add some to the SEO problems we´ve encountered even when there are plenty of other good and better reasons in first place, that can lead over time to a significant drop in SE.

Anyone who has experienced something similiar?

phil70 01-31-2015 10:41 AM

Works very well on 4.2.2

Many thanks

ne_one 02-15-2015 06:39 PM

This is likely painfully obvious but I thought I'd check with others before digging:

I've noticed that the categories will not render if the domain is entered without the 'www' prefix. If www.domain.com is entered the categories list as expected.

Any suggestions on the best way to address this?

vze2yqtm 02-27-2015 04:27 PM

Nothing is showing up in 4.2.2 Patch Level 3, any ideas? Thanks for the plugin, it looks like it will be great :)

tjournals 03-03-2015 01:09 AM

Works great on vBulletin 4.2.2 (patch 4).

Is there a way to change the color of each tab?
