Must have been a mishap somewhere... it seems to be working fine now.
Thanks.... Reinstalled! |
So no one has yet to bother with an AME 3.x definitions file?
It sucks how poorly supported VBulletin 4.0 mods are!! Not anyone's fault.. it just kind of sucks. I wish I had gone with VBuleltin 3.x for my latest forum.. it's a year old and I'm still twiddling my thumbs hoping for modifications that I've had on my 3.x forums for years. |

one of the best mods for vbulletin available...!
unfortunately its not working anymore for me with version 4.1.1 (before without any problems). i can still see old ame tagged videos, they are all embedded, but the new ones are just links. Anyone else problems with 4.1.1? |

hm, i hope there is any bugfix coming for this. really appreciate this mod!
|
I don't think it's a bugfix. We need a whole new interpreter that can be modified and updated easily. A user setting for "Disable automatic video parsing" would be nice.
|
not working on 4.1.1.
|
I have it working on my VB 4.1.1 updated last night and had this pre installed already and still works like a charm

DEFINITELY WORKING VB 4.1.1 as of 1/22/2011. youtube , metcafe ,vimeo
|
I had AME installed on my forum but have it disabled - When I make posts in forums I some times get this error -
Code:
Warning: include(/home3/brothe8/public_html/forum/ame/ame_prep_cache.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/ame_prep.php on line 595 |
Definetly it works on fresh installs ;)
|
If i unnistall ame and install it again, reuploadin the files...should this work?
ty in advance |
okay, for all people who have the same problem as me: it wasnt working anymore after an upgrade to 4.1.1, just try this
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=608 It worked for me fine again with 4.1.1! |
^this fixed worked for me as well, however once applying the fix, everyone started getting the redirect message when posting, even though redirects were turned off, and there were major major double posting issues. i had revert the functions_video file, which broke the AME mod again, forcing me to uninstall the mod for the time being
|
should this work in vbadvanced Dynamics also? I seem to only get a link to the youtube video instead of the actual embedded video. Please help.
thanks, kether |

ame is not updating the url to video BB code
vbulletin isnt doing it either. then i noticed my functions_video.php was empty. its a fresh download and install of vB 4.1.1 |
Installed.
|
Installed on a fresh vB 4.1.1 and runs like a treat :)
|
Likewise I've had to uninstall due to the double posting bug.
AME is a fantastic mod but for me it just doesn't work anymore. A great shame considering how popular it was with the community. |

What I find a bit confusing is that some seem to have made it work using the fix on 4.1.1, whereas others cannot - Is it just the double posting issue?
I've been usiing this mod on my 3.7 forums for a long time, and I was hoping it would migrate to the 4.1.x frontier, but after reading all these pages I have hesitated. |
It's not nearly as 'popular with the community' as you might think. Some people are just lazy and won't use bbcode no matter what you do. Saying that auto-parsing video tags is 'popular' with these people is disingenuous, since they were never really given a choice. Not like you can count the people that would go to the effort to "noparse" their video links.
As admin I kind of missed it at first. But I don't think it made a bit of difference to most users, who likely don't even think about it as they click on an unparsed video url to watch it. |
Yes it works, thanx

I looked through the first 6-7 pages of this thread and couldn't find an answer, so I apologize if this has been asked (I'm sure it has been). I installed AME3 but its not working. If I post a youtube link on my forums, it just comes out as a link to the video. It doesn't seem to embed. If I do the [video ] tags around the youtube link then it does embed correctly but I just want to be able to post the straight link.
Thanks for the help. |

I forgot that in the first step and only uploaded the files :) What i did is: - Upload files from AME3.zip - import xml from AME3.zip - Upload files from vb-4.0.4-ame3.zip - import xml from vb-4.0.4-ame3.zip (let overwrite) When you create a posting, do you have the 'Automatically convert links into videos' button selected? |
