Ok I know this is probably impossible... but I was wondering if it's possible to get this onto my frontpage, like link it up to Wordpress or any other CMS.

I know you can with VBA, but I am not too fond of VBA and am thinking about switching, and want to know if I can take this mod with me... i really hope... love this one. Anyone know if this is possible at all?

We have been using this chat box for quite some time and works great. My questions is as follows; I installed this mod. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=192184 it is so members can pick their favorite smilies to show up first. This mod works good in posts and replies but not in the chat box. If I change the order or anything with the smilies, it changes in the chat. When an individual member changes what they see it doesn't change anything in chat. Seems to me like the chat is just searching in a different area. Can this be set up so the 2 work together?

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Yes I do, its only recently started happening, could it be affected by other mods?

If anyone needs a greek translation to this mod, I'd be happy to share mine (if that's alright with the programmer, that is) :)

Well I'm sure Cybernetec is a great guy and is very busy, so after PMing him last summer and asking for few minor features and getting nowhere, I decided to add them myself. It worked and if you're interested, my hack is based on his 2.3 hack so you can just import the XML and if you don't like it import his original back (make sure you select overwrite each time)

So this is what I changed/added:

* The message input area is now under the message display area (like in msn messenger)
* The message input area height size option is added to the CP options
* Status message is moved to the right of the Submit button
* Archive can now be reordered from old to new and the option is added to CP too

Thats all.

<edit: link removed as developer did not say code is re-usable>

Enjoy :D

Is there a way to set a default color for the style? I have a black background style with white text and vice versa, makes seeing the text in chatbox hard to see if people dont pick a font color. :(

i am having the same problem with this too, it is hard to modify this mod to work with a dark theme, at least for my limited abilities.

Valter 01-25-2009 07:41 PM

Default color is alt1 foreground color.

Is it set in your style?

yes, it is set in the style to something dark, so that i can have a dark style on the whole forum. how would i change just the background and text color to something more readable for a dark theme?

Have you tried Phrase editor? I believe you will need to change cybcb_chatbox_full text, unless by changing text you mean changing appearance not the wording.

natecoupons 01-26-2009 01:23 PM

what I would like to do is change the wording that appears in the navbar....

from ChatBox Full to simply Chat or ChatBox

thx is it posseble to see the usersonline on the right side in the top of the chat?

Michigan Morels 01-28-2009 11:12 PM

I have some questions on server load.

1. How many users online with full access to Cyb ChatBox before it affects the server load to a noticable amount?

2. Will allowing some groups to "view", but not post, affect the server load? Or is better to not allow viewing only at all?

3. Will having Chat set to "always collapsed" help decrease server load?

Thanks.

Valter 01-29-2009 01:03 AM

1. depending on many things
2. yes, it affects server load as messages are refreshed every x seconds which means +1 query
3. no, but I'll change this in the next version

Michigan Morels 01-29-2009 02:52 AM

Thank you. That helps me.
Will be looking forward to your next release, when collapsing will actually reduce load.

Thanks again for your help. My members have been quite happy with your chatbox.

biocyberman 01-29-2009 02:58 AM

I am getting this error but haven't figured out why. Somebody has any idea?

Installed and still testing :)

Black Tiger 01-29-2009 11:55 PM

Installed on 3.8.1 and looks nice. It's setup to only display on the main forum page, so index.php.

But the forums load very very slow, on forumhome as well as subforums (where it is not displaying). This occures with all 3 IE versions. I don't know what's causing it. The page itself loads normal, but you can't scroll or reply it keeps hanging at the "gradient.gif" or something which is loaded after that gif, or it looks that way in the statusbar. This takes up to 15-20 seconds and then all is loaded and you can scroll.
When using Firefox, there is no slowdown at all. Forums load as fast as normal.

When I disable this mod, all IE versions work as fast as Firefox again.
What is causing this strange behaviour?

sparky5693 02-01-2009 02:35 AM

Is there a way to enlarge the smilie popup window?

sparky5693 02-01-2009 02:40 AM

Nevermind.... found it.

Michigan Morels 02-01-2009 05:59 AM

1. I have my Reverse message order (newest at bottom) set to "yes",
and it works as long as a member does not collapse it on their own.

But if they do collapse it, then when they re-open it again,
it is reverts to the default of new post on top.
If... they refresh their browser,
then it changes back to my setting of new post at bottom.

Confusing to members.

Also...

2. If I have it set to always collapsed,
it then switches back to default with the newest post at the top,
and refreshing their browser does not change it to my settings at all.
It remains with new post at the top regardless of my settings.

Confusing to me. LOL

Any fix or changes I can make to avoid this?

It's kind of weird, and I hope I've explained it well enough.

hasan_889 02-02-2009 07:39 AM

Thanks ... installed!

diablo76 02-02-2009 09:05 AM

Would it be possible to include a "Ignore user" feature in the next release?

I'd like this as well.

Nice addon, thanks, installed!

Black Tiger 02-06-2009 02:28 PM

No clue about why IE is breaking up with this enabled?

SasaVtec 02-06-2009 06:03 PM

Any possible way to add a paging system to the chat? Play a buzz sound when pages with like a 30 sec timer between pages, or make user come back to chat page if paged and is on another tab or something?

efuct5 02-07-2009 02:23 AM

installed and working just fine!

Thanks!

Michigan Morels 02-07-2009 05:59 AM

Another question in addition to my collasping question here.

I've discovered that if I have a primary usergroup disallowed to view/use chat, but give them an additional usergroup that does have access to chat, they still can't use it. As long as they are in the primary group that does not allow it.

vB states that the user group with the access enabled will take precendent over the primary. But that does not happen with the chat box.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

I installed on 3.7.4 PL1 . Works fine. But very very slow with firefox3 and internet explorer 7.

It is not good.

Hi all. If you have CSRF problem on this hack; try this.

Download and backup misc.php,

search this;
PHP Code:

define('CSRF_PROTECTION'true);

and change it
PHP Code:

define('CSRF_PROTECTION'false);

that's all. I hope this way to help you.

Dumi 02-09-2009 04:05 AM

I'm suddenly getting a weird error with this. From time to time the chatbox has the entire website displayed within it. Anyone else get this before?
