Why no responses? I appreciate the authors of the mods making them available and do try to respect that many of them are busy and get to these questions when they can but this has been a while now. Any help would be appreciated.

jlew24asu 07-01-2008 06:56 PM

does this work for 3.7.0 ?

iojam 07-01-2008 07:24 PM

dknelson,

your sitemap looks ok. The submission date is the date you sent it first in webmaster account. Check "last downloaded" date.

What is your .htaccess file contents in forums folder? Don't you have anything else besides sitemap rewrite rule?

Please post a support ticket on vbseo.com if that's related to vBSEO product (not sitemap generator).

Darat,

make sure that you have 0777 permissions set for vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder.

iojam 07-01-2008 07:28 PM

jlew24asu,

yes, it works with vB3.7.x.

PGAmerica 07-01-2008 09:34 PM

Whats the difference between this mod and the vbSEO at vbSEO.com? Are they the same thing? Different versions? Complete different? What?

upload the 2 folders that are inside the upload folder into your root directory instead of the entire upload folder.

Those are two different products - vBSEO Sitemap Generator creates sitemaps for the forum, while vBSEO is a product that has many features including URL rewrites.

biglamb,

please PM me your sitemap generator URL.

this might be the wrong place to ask but I was doing the google sitemap stuff and it told me "add your sitemap URL." what is my sitemap URL?

also, how long does it typically take for something to show up in a report. when I run it, there is nothing there. thanks

iojam 07-06-2008 12:19 AM

jlew24asu,

sitemap URL is: http://yourofrumsroot/sitemap_index.xml.gz

biglamb,

I'm glad it's fixed for you now :)

I'm sorry for the question but my forum root is not my website? (chicagophotoshop.com) ?

when entering this. http://chicagophotoshop.com/sitemap_index.xml, I get this..."You have entered a URL to a file. Please enter the site URL"

and also what is .gz

thanks jam

jlew24asu 07-06-2008 04:25 PM

is this also why my report list is blank? :(

iojam 07-06-2008 05:54 PM

In your case, sitemap URL is: http://www.chicagophotoshop.com/foru...p_index.xml.gz
It's not loaded for me, make sure that you created ".htaccess" file as described?

imported_FreDy 07-06-2008 09:51 PM

I've got a problem runing the Sitemap Generator, so I can't create a sitemap... the sitemap starts to create but always doesn't end... always the same error:

Code:

[forumdisplay] forum_id: 67, total threads: 44, pages: 1 [5,951.0Kb mem used] [1s (+0s)]
[SECTION START] showthread [5,951.1Kb mem used] [1s (+0s)]

Database Error        Database error
The XXXXXX database has encountered a problem.

Could anybody help to solve this?

Thanks in advance

imported_FreDy 07-06-2008 10:01 PM

Ok, I've solved it... I'm using vBSeo 3.2... so there is a file modification that must be done with vBseo 3.2.x

yes. I copied the .txt file to my root and then renamed it without the .txt

when doing this I was then able to log into my admin site reports but have all reports have been blank when i run them :(

Black Tiger 07-07-2008 01:32 PM

Great, thanks for the 3.7.x update!

WOW..that's harsh. It is a free plugin and yet you act like you deserved the prompt support. lol.. look at iojam activity, he was here almost everyday and answers almost everything asked. So, chill, he will answering you in a short while or you can just go to vbseo.com and ask the question there.

I'm sorry. I didnt mean for it to sound harsh at all. the only reason I ask is because he made this product available in the 3.7 forums.

I was NICELY asking if he is referring to all support/questions in that thread. I'm not demanding prompt support at all. just wondering if I should move my questions to the other forum.

iojam, please dont think I was demanding anything. I appreciate all your hard work. cheers

iojam 07-08-2008 12:32 PM

jlew24asu,

it looks like your host doesn't support mod_rewrite or rewrite rules are not allowed n .htaccess, you can check that as described here.
Also, I'd suggest to install vBSEO Sitemap Generator v2.2 that was released a couple of days ago: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=184573

jlew24asu 07-08-2008 12:50 PM

ok thanks iojam

jlew24asu 07-08-2008 03:50 PM

edit. cant do mod_rewrite :(

Dean C 07-09-2008 10:07 PM

I've just installed this for a client and after manually running the sitemap generator from the admincp, when I go to vbseo_sitemap/index.php I see nothing showing up in the reports at all.

dadoc 07-13-2008 09:31 AM

I am sure that I have everything uploaded right as I can access my vbseo_sitemap/ page

but when I click on Your Google Sitemap Index URL:

I get Sitemap file not found

Why would this be

I did just install it a few hours ago.

do I have to wait for this or should it still find the file even if I have just installed it?

Thanks

Per1213 07-16-2008 11:39 AM

404 error? erm? I uploaded the wrong sitemap and had to overwrite them with the 3.6 version. Will this mean that it takes a while for overwriting to take affect?

Coldhands 07-16-2008 07:29 PM

I have what might be a noob question, SIA (did a search, found nothing):

My site's setup is simple, a wordpress blog for my front pages, and a vBforum for my community discussions.

My question is: Can I have two site maps in different directories (i.e. Wordpress Sitemap Plugin + vBSEO)???

If not, what are some suggestions, so I can get my full site on one sitemap?

If not, are there any good tutorials to use the straight up python script distributed on code.google.com.

3DG|Bugo 07-16-2008 10:52 PM

I'm having the same issue after upgrading to 2.2, the sitemaps generates ok, but o don't get a new entry on the Reports List. I'll wait till the cronned generation to see what happes...

3DG|Bugo 07-17-2008 04:34 AM

Is it possible to get an older version of this mod? The new one is just not working for me, due tu VBSEO 3.1 i guess.....it generates the sitemap, but doesn't log anything, nor ping the sites, etc...it haults somewhere, dunno why...

I would like to rollback but can't find the previous version.

princeedward 08-07-2008 06:07 PM

great mod...thanks a lot...installed ;)
