Honestly I'd love to get going on making this hack work more effectively again, but my knowledge in PHP is very limited, I only know what I've done, I have the ability to read thr ough most code and understand it, but most PHP based application building I am limited on. Even when I start from a pre-existing app. I just wish someone would pick this up, rename it, then post it again, giving credit to the original author of course.

when a user donates does it update your donation page and asign them the status of donor. everytime someone donates i have to add them and update the toatal towards my goal.

this is a great hack. i just hate doing it manually and users want to see their donor status imediatly.

well, their status not showing immediately isnt a big deal.. users will always complain.. im sure you more importantly would like it to update immediately; as i would also .. well

ive been working with a test board and i can get the users donor status to update and the goal updated, but they are told they have donated $0.00 which is misleading to them, but they can see the donate page and see they are there with the donation... so i got it to work about 75% now

what did i do? revert all templates and remove some products .. never thought id ever be confirming hack collisions happening... and to pick through this all is tough... too bad vbull doesnt have a sort of vbdebug mode to help troubleshoot..

AGAIN IM TESTING ON A TEST BOARD; NOT LIVE .. just so its clear :nervous: i wouldnt revert my whole live board.. well not unless it was a major issue

mine does update on its own so i dont know the error.

Hack is installed good but there is not donations admin like in the previous version. Also all my data from the old version is absent.

Yes. You didn't read or search this thread for the answers to your questions. Both have been asked/answered several times. I hope you have a backup of your donation tables.

is there anything that describes how to uninstall this?

at this point the thread is only worth but so much.. platforms on 3.5.3 have seem to proven that it wont work.. currenly this does not work on our site since upgrading to 3.5.3 and no one is available for support nor has anyone been brave enough to take on this hack... which i feel is so important..

but im just a leecher complaining since i cant code myself..

You seem to be the only one on 3.5.3 that has said it works, or atleast who has come forward to say it works..

As for my problem read through the last few posts.. Lmao its what everyones problem seems to be: it doesn't work.. It doesn't updates donors nor updates the goal amount.. Says they have donated $0

I have 2 forums up and running, one is at 3.5.2 and it works perfectly and the other one is at 3.5.3 and a member can click on donate and go to paypal and make a donation then it spits them back to my forums saying thank you. BUT it does not update or reflect on the donations page and goal that there was a donation. I have to manually add it and this still sucks because the goal is not affected. I have the same hacks on both which a to the very minimal. Still scratching my head on this one and can only conclude that 3.5.3 has something to do with it.

Any chance that you can zip and upload a copy of the hack that you used? Maybe YOUR step by step instructions?? Looks like you've done a ton to your forums and yet your donation hack is working flawless.

well i did what was in the folder...i have the same one then the one in this thread....

run donation_install..........edit the template and that was it.......

did you set the setting in adminc? do you have a paypal account?

did you make sure to not run this in THE SAND BOX?

i attached the zip that i used well its rar i had to rename zip cause vb.org doesnt allow rar

i have had the same issues as trickle. i have installed it on 3 different boards and its not working automatically for either. i have to update it myself.

man i wish i knew howu got yours to work. i follwed the directions to a T on my board and two other boards i am admin on.

I wish this hack was still supported.

Is anyone willing to update it so it will work on 3.5.4? with no bugs.

Ok finaly got his working under 3.5.4! Took reading almost the entire thread and installing/uninstalling numerous times.

More or less the big glitch is you absolutly have to edit the XML file. The second line that has vBulletin you need to make it vbulletin (note the B is now in lower case)

Other then that just follow each step in the directions and you should be good to go.

consider yourself lucky .. we've all be through the instructions over and over again.. the issue is a bit more then just following instructions .. the hack worked at one point.. now it doesnt

This modification seems to back rev 3 templates to 3.5.0 Is this what might be causing everyone problems?

If I have some time I will see if I can not do a Beyond Compare and see if we can not get a 3.5.4 template posted. Mine are all modified so can't use those.

You should post your templates. This hack has been abandoned by the author and the original templates suck anyhow.

I think it was Andreas who somewhere back in this thread also made this into a pluggin. Maybe we can solicite his assistance to maybe get this thing 3.5.4 compliant and leave it at that until someone else wants to pick it up.

Anyways I will do my best in getting the 3.5.4 templates posted sometime this week. Things for me are rather busy but really want to help where I can.

Ok, going to need ALOT of help from everyone on this. I am NOT a coder and have extremely little VB experience but think I can figure this out with some assistance from everyone to test this thing out.

What we will work on first is the 4 Templates that this thing modifys and reverts back to 3.5.0. I have looked through the template modifyoptions and see only 1 section called Donations that has been added. I have now reverted my template modifyoptions to 3.5.4 and beleive that this code:

Simply put search for this code and look for the closing /if and insert code there.

This should be viewable within your user CP Edit Options listing as "My Doner Status"


Now need someone to verify that this is correct and working and I will move on to the other 3 templates.

thanks for the suggestion but i have read every post in this thread and some more than once. I was a lil confused with whether or not dude got his to work on 3.5.4. Still don't see how MissKalunji has her's working on 3.5.3. i know a few peeps that have it working on 3.5.2 but none on 3.5.3 or above. So i asked a direct question to get a direct answer. to clear up my confusion. again thanks for the suggestion but i had a reason for why i asked.
