hmm if u trust me enough to give me access as an admin to your templates section. i can help u take a look :)

I managed to install the addition, "I think"

problems or mis-understandings are as follows

1. On my home page now I have all the features that are talked about. However the News posts that I want to show are simply not coming up. See thumb attached.

2. Finally what should I have done with the old index.php file? Do I simply change the adv_index.php to index.php and that is it? I ask this one because clicking forums anywhere leads to the home page where if someone were to click forums then I would think it should go to the forums listings.

Sorry if this is a little unclear.

I have installed it and like it. But, I have run into a problem. When I type my home url, it just shows a ftp tree of my site. If I click on the adv_index.php file the home page comes up. I am running VB 3.0.0. Seems the index file is not being called???

rename adv_index.php to

index.php

then clear your cache and log into your site. that should fix it.

Did you delete your index.php?

You need to rename adv_index.php to index.php

I did that and it took care of it. One more thing, when the login box pops up (my board is set to see no content before you login) one the homepage url, once you login it gives me a 404 error. it reverts to my site.com/login instead of my stie.com/forums/login.php. I have searched the templates and have not found what I need to edit.....any help is appreciated.

Hi !

I did the same fault with the images directory, they are not showing up, because i missed the /forum/ directory and now they are linking to my html root :-/

Can I change that without deinstalling and installing vbhomepage ?

I'm having a small problem....

The installation went smooth but the "news avatars" are broken!
The upper left avatar shows but the avatars in the news post not...

you probably haven't set your images dir's correctly :)

Anyone else experiencing login/out trouble on the adv_index?
And how to make it redirect you to the adv_index.page after login?

My image dirs are setup correctly...

Some avatars work others don't!
And when a guest visits an error message is shown in the statusbar also...

From the picture below, some images cannot display, i have checked the images path from Admin cp -> Style manager
Title Image - "images/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif"
It can display correctly under forumhome index but cannot show in adv_index

do anyone can tell me how to fix it?

I'm currently running vbportal on a 2.3.4 install. How hard is it to skin vbadvanced? the guys at vbportal basically refuse to give any info on how to skin it, leaving us at their mercy to release skins.

VBadvanced takes over your default forumstyle...
BUT... the styles are different from vB 2 to vB3.
You will need to redefine your style settings when you upgrade from 2.x to 3.0
That will ask more time then installing the vbadvanced page ;)


NOTE: D3NNIS, you really R0XOR man ;) all seems to work perfectly now

Did you do what the directions told you and put you full path in you ADMINCP settings?

They should look like this"

Hey all.. I have a weird problem... I just installed vb3 and when I try to install vbadvanced I have a problem... When I get to STEP 3 FILE MODIFICATIONS part the code it wants me to find is not in my file... I dont get it... I opened includes/adminfunctions_template.php file and the code they want me to find is not there. I used the find option in notepad... Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Thanks for reply , but is it possible edit adv_index template or php file, add [bburl] to the image path?Because there is no problems for forum pages (not vbadvance index page), the image page only missing "/forum/"

Ok, i fixed my problem, why some images cannot display properly or the image path missing "/forum/"

Here is the solution:
Edit the Images path in FULL URL such as "http://www.domain.com/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif" ...etc
There has 3 place to edit it
1. Style Manager -> Click GO to edit templates-> "Image Paths"
2. Post icons under Admin CP
3. Smilies under Admin CP

When i use Vbulletin 3.0.0 RC2 , i was install vBadvanced Homepage . it work great .. but i get a problem in my database ...

When i post new thread , have any body see it , but Views (Xem) was not count .. i was update to Vbulletin 3.0.0 Gold , but the problem is not end .. I was try to see thread with 5 user , but the Views count is 1 ,if post a reply , it will count 2 and so as... ,
I will install a new forums in localhost , the count great , but when i install vBadvanced Homepage , the problem is on ... Help me fix this problem !!!

So is there any thoughts of multi-installs ?

IE: install to sub folders in a site each install with different settings: news forum, poll, ect. I was thinking of a portal system for many subjects all pulling data from 1 forum install.

$site / articles
$site / gallery
$site / subject whatever

Each install with its own "settings" and homepage.

I'm getting a DB error at /forums/admincp/advindex_install.php?step=dotemplates. WIthout the templates it looks like: http://gotwow.net/adv_index.php. If you would like to see the DB error. It is below.

Oh and, the 1 before templates is my prefix for the tables.
