We want to adjust it to fit each style accordingly.

if you are talking about the tabs, then check out the class
Code:

yui-nav
or
Code:

yui-navset yui-navset-top
That what I could see from firebug. if the class is not written in additional.css file, it should be then in the css files that come with this mod.

Update:

it turns out that the style as I said located in the included css files with the mod. Check out both skin-tfh.css and tabview.css

now I'm 100% sure it is from there.

Good luck

fxdigi-cash 03-03-2013 02:16 AM

hi,

which version of vb are you running the mod on?

also, notice if your forums in your forum home view disappeared means it is working...

can you show us the code where you changed this below before modifications?

sounds like there is something incorrect...

i need for help right now , i want to make this tabs avilable in all pages of the fourm , also , i want to make a custom code for the main [ul] element of tabs and embed it in the header template manually , like this >>

PHP Code:

<ul >
<
li><a href="#">Name Of Tabs</a></li>
</
ul

but when i open the file , i did`t see any template tags or any html code to use or to update on it ,, ! so what could i do ?

[S]
I think you mean that you want to view different tabs inside the forums not only the forum home.... I really didn't try that, but there is the code for tabs view, you can place it in the right forum page

Code:

<!-- main -->
{vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_above_forums}
<!-- Tabbed Forum Home -->
<div id="forumhome_container" style="margin-top:5px"> </div>
<script type="text/javascript"> {vb:raw eg_tfh} </script>
<!-- /Tabbed Forum Home  -->
{vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_below_forums}
<!-- /main -->

in the following pages:

forumhome_forumbit_level1_post, forumhome_forumbit_level2_post,

if it didn't work, then I believe there must be some tab code interruption... [/S]

I tried that all, but didn't work. there must be some sort of deep modification. sorry about that

Baghira 03-03-2013 08:56 AM

Hi there...

I dont understand what I have to do...

maybe you can have a look at yesdukan.de

or tell me what I have to show. I changed nothing in that template manually until installing YUI Tabbed Forum Home

Oh i forgot:

Its (vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 3)

Xcynic 03-08-2013 01:23 PM

Great mod, however I have a question.

If you set Cache Data to YES so the tabs load quicker will this make it so if new posts etc are updated it wont refresh it or what? Like what are the pro's and cons of having it on YES/NO?

how come??? it is straight forward mod...

ok, here you are again, make sure you follow the instructions step by step:

Code:

> STEP 1: Upload Files located in the UPLOAD FOLDER to your FORUM ROOT i.e. vb.
Code:

> STEP 2: Import Product XML File (product-edugeek_tfh)
Code:

STEP 3: change the coding in your templates as the following:

find through search template in you admin cp: FORUMHOME

find the code: </head> and directly above it, insert the following code:

<!-- Tabbed Forum Home Header Code 4.0.8 -->
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/tfh/tabview.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/tfh/skin-tfh.css" />
<!-- TFH JS -->
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
if (remoteyui)
{
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/clientscript/tfh/dispatcher-min.2.2.js"></script>');
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="http://yui.yahooapis.com/2.9.0/build/element/element-min.js"></script>');
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="http://yui.yahooapis.com/2.9.0/build/tabview/tabview-min.js"></script>');
}
else
{
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/clientscript/tfh/dispatcher-min.2.2.js"></script>');
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/clientscript/yui/element/element-min.js"></script>');
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/clientscript/yui/tabview/tabview-min.js"></script>');
}
//-->
</script>
<!-- /Tabbed Forum Home Header Code -->

Code:

> step4: find the code <!-- main --> in template FORUMHOMETAB replace whatsoever between <!-- main --> and <!-- /main --> with the following code:

<!-- main -->
{vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_above_forums}
<!-- Tabbed Forum Home -->
<div id="forumhome_container" style="margin-top:5px"> </div>
<script type="text/javascript"> {vb:raw eg_tfh} </script>
<!-- /Tabbed Forum Home  -->
{vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_below_forums}
<!-- /main -->

Code:

> Step5: find the template forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost and insert the following code on the top of it

######################### INSERT AT THE START >>> ---------------

<vb:if condition="(THIS_SCRIPT=='indexTFH' AND (in_array($forum['forumid'], $_REQUEST['tabcat']) OR in_array('all', $_REQUEST['tabcat']))) OR (THIS_SCRIPT=='forumdisplay') OR (THIS_SCRIPT=='index')">

######################### INSERT AT THE END >>> ------------

</vb:if>

Code:

> Step5: find the template forumhome_forumbit_level1_post and insert the following code on top of it as well:

######################### INSERT AT THE START >>> ---------------

<vb:if condition="(THIS_SCRIPT=='indexTFH' AND (in_array($forum['forumid'], $_REQUEST['tabcat']) OR in_array('all', $_REQUEST['tabcat']))) OR (THIS_SCRIPT=='forumdisplay') OR (THIS_SCRIPT=='index')">

######################### INSERT AT THE END >>> ------------

</vb:if>

now if your forums disappeared, then you did it right... and then all you have to do is to create tabs for your forums... READ the file How to Configure.txt

Cheers ;)

This is only what I understand though; I believe this feature used if you are not going to change your forums or sub forums in each tab. meaning if you won't add or delete forums or sub forums, this feature is going to be useful and speed up the page loading...

how does it work?? it catches a copy of your forums and subforums in each tab this property used and re-use it again whenever a user reload the page; it works like a snapshot of your forum look, but never change anything even if you added new forums or subforums...

so it is always preferred to deactivate this feature if you have forums or subforums changed from time to time...

I hope this helps.

of course you. This mod if worked correctly, it will hid all forums till you create tab for each forum to show up... so you can hide all forums if you like and show only one forum...

MagicPID 03-16-2013 04:22 AM

Does anyone know how to make this work with social groups? I'm using this mod https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=221581

Zacca87 03-16-2013 06:55 PM

I have installed it in vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 3, but show every cat in every tabs.

p.s. Before my forum disappeared, and i see correctly the menu.

-- resolved, forget one step in installation --

mlotziii 03-27-2013 04:12 AM

A little help please. I followed the instructions and made the template edits; however, nothing has changed on my forum.

http://www.lotzoutdoors.com

I've checked and checked and rechecked and can't seem to find the issue. Any advice on why it would not be working after installed?

Thank you,

dimes 03-30-2013 09:31 AM

Hello,
installed it, made all changes, now it works in forumhome. :)

But when i go fo a forum or a thread, the tabs disappear. is that correct? have a look on your own: http://kameraseite.de

Greets
dirk

mlotziii 04-01-2013 02:58 AM

Call me an idiot but I just had difficulty following the instructions. What I particularly missed was I was copying and pasting code to the FORUMHOMETAB template.

That was not correct, you do not make any edits to the FORUMHOMETAB! Instructions related to this confused me.

It's installed and I edited the css to fit my forum.

Please check out my Outdoor Forum and let me know what you think

Thank you!

dmhorus 04-04-2013 07:07 PM

Is it possible to put an image on the ends of the tab bar? I just want to put rounded ends on the bar so it blends in more with my template.

arob42 04-27-2013 05:27 AM

I'm running vBulletin 4.2.1 and have this product installed and it's working out fine, with two exceptions. Although the forum categories are collapsible, I have two products that have output blocks above the tabs that are not collapsible. They are collapsible if I disable the Tab product. The products are PhotoPost Pro (v8.3) and VSa - ChatBox (v3.1.8). Any idea how to fix this?

I also noticed that there is a conflict with bf-latest topics ajax mod and thing never go right unless you choose to have the latest topics mod to display on top of footer.

Hi,
Did you find a solution for the recent topics ajax mod? Same issue in my forum, and I've put them down, although they're useful up as first things to see on my forum.
If you've found a solution, please let me know.:)

STR8H8TEx 05-24-2013 06:22 PM

tabs arent showing up on my site. anyone else having this prob or know how to fix it?

mlotziii 05-24-2013 07:52 PM

@STR8H8TEx -- I had the same problem and found this was the solution:

Where it says:
Quote:

NOTE: IF YOU HAVE CUSTOM <!-- main --> through <!-- /main --> CODE, YOU WILL NEED TO COPY IT AND REPLACE THE DEFAULT CODE IN THE FORUMHOMETAB TEMPLATE
It really means FORUMHOME ... try that and it should work.

STR8H8TEx 05-24-2013 09:06 PM

DUDE YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I appreciate you coming back and helping man! It's a good mod! I wish someone would put your fix into the very top so others don't struggle!!

again thank you!!!

cric2k 06-02-2013 08:09 AM

Hello,

I have made a simple modification to this code to make it remember the last tab you clicked on and use that as the default instead of default that is stored in the database (basically if you click on a home link after browsing to a tab it brings you back to the same tab).

Open the PHP file 'tabindex.php' in your root folder and add the following code a line or two after 'error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);' at the top of the script:

PHP Code:

#request ID of tab clicked
$tabID $_REQUEST['tID'];

#save it in cookie
if (isset($tabID))
{

setcookie("LinkClickedID"$tabID);

Now go to your ADMINCP, Plugin Manager, edit 'Create Tabs'.

There are two instances of this piece of code:

PHP Code:

if($tab['default_tab'] == "1" AND empty($vbulletin->GPC['varname']))
        {

$active 'true';
        }

Replace the above piece of code in both cases with this:

PHP Code:

if(isset($_COOKIE["LinkClickedID"]))
{
        if(
$tab['tabid'] == $_COOKIE["LinkClickedID"] AND empty($vbulletin->GPC['varname']))
        {

$active 'true';
        }
}
elseif(
$tab['default_tab'] == "1" AND empty($vbulletin->GPC['varname']))
        {

$active 'true'
        }

and there you have it - your last clicked on tab is now stored as the default (and it should use the database default if cookies are not allowed on the browser).

Is it possible to change a colour change for dark skins? I'm using both a light and dark skin but wanting to change the colours for the dark skin so the white don't look weird on it. Can anyone help?

Please update this to vbulletin 4.2

I'm using this on my board which is 4.2. Works fine just needing someone to help me make the skin of the mod transparent so I can use it on both dark and light themes.

Hello, it's possible to disable plugin to Visitor? no tab forum classic only it's possible ?

nsdqmaester 07-04-2013 04:04 AM

I tried installing on VB 4.21 and I get the tabs but no Forums are showing Added all relative code listed and added tabs in manage tabs. The Modules show up if I enable them and tabindex.php?tabcat[]=all works if access via page. Click on category it says loading content then is just blank.

Anyone else spotted this and fixed it..? I started going over the whole thread but 64 pages is ALOT..! ;)

Thanks for any help.

use firebug to see what the conflict is!!!

put your url here maybe we can look at it together and see what's going on!!

fxdigi-cash 07-21-2013 05:49 PM

surprisingly, I just found out that this mod cause a lot of invalid arguments. when validating the forumhome page, you will notice bunch of warnings and errors. This mainly kills the First Byte Time which massively effect on your forumhome page load speed.

I hope there is someone who can solve these issues...

[S]Update: I feel I'm very lucky today. I could solve the issues in 3 mins. all you need to do is to go to the plugin manager/ Product : EG: Tabbed Forum Home /

edit only the first hook: name:Create Tabs, location: forumhome_complete

change the following:

PHP Code:

'&'

to

PHP Code:

'&amp;'

you will need to do that for two variables and save the work. And you are done with this plugin issues...

Good luck
[/S]
Update: it turned out that & can't be replaced in our case since the code in .php not html. if html, things would be different.

Bubble #5 08-12-2013 01:35 AM

Very disappointing that this doesn't work with 4.21. I just took the time to install it but nothing is showing up. Too bad. Looked like it would have been a nice mod.

tetrajournal 08-14-2013 07:22 AM

Just like Bubble #5, I also cannot get this to work with 4.2.1. I get the same result... nothing shows up. Been looking for something exactly like this.

I'll post the link if it works on 4.2.1.
