If you can tweak the code so Vimeo vids go back to thumbnailing instead of the Blue M and it auto adds media tags instead of url tags to Vimeo vids, you would be THE MAN!

Not sure what you mean. If you want it to handle images just post the image link and hit reply (don't wrap it in IMG tags).

The only reason why there is a hankering for Vimeo vids is since Stage6's demise, Vimeo streams HD content the best.

If you can also look into why it adds url tags to Vimeo vids as of late rather than media tags when posting urls to Vimeo vids, you'd be awesome. I sometimes just add my own media tags, but frequently it just displays the url with media tags instead of making the video show, but only when doing Vimeo, as it works perfect with YouTube but YT's video quality sucks so nobody serves HD content there.

thank you - installed - works pretty good but has anyone resolved the thumbnail issue with google video? Any video I have on google only shows the M thumbnail - you tube works great.

I'm preparing to install....I am NOT a coder, but instructions appeared very simple. My question is, if I install, and it causes problems and I decide I want to uninstall, is it as simple as deleting the product in the plug-in manager section of the admin control panel?

Or would totally uninstalling it involve correcting code....

Just uninstall the product and remove the files.

It took me a few efforts, but I finally got it installed. I'm going to re-read the thread here and see if there are answers already posted to a few of the questions I have. I echo that sentiment - seems like sometimes it recognizes there's a vid file there, and other times it doesn't and puts url tags in place instead of media tags.

Post some of the urls that don't work for Vimeo.

Thanx for the MOD, it's great, because it works and does what it says on the tin.

However, I've a little thing that I need for the Goldbrick system, as I'm sure many other's would eventually need to have as a legal requirement.

With the advent of a lawsuit against Google in America, in which Google will be forced by law to pass on a list of usernames and IP addresses for all their memebrs who watch their videos, and will eventually pass to other video sharing sites (I'm sure it's Google who have the lawsuit against them), I feel it is necessary for me to provide a notice on my board when someone submits a media link to the Goldbrick system that states I am not responsible for the media they submit, and should notify blah blah if they spot an illeagal video.... blah blah blah... A disclaimer.

So, is it possible to have a disclaimer pop up when you go to submit a link to the GoldBrick system?

I don't agree with presenting a disclaimer myself, but considering media companies are trying to crack down on video sharing (even though my members who submit the links aren't even responsible for ileagal videos being on YouTube, Google and other video sharing sites), the disclaimer should be there by legal requirements.

So seems security token is missing and not being passed?

Also when you go to the link:
profile.php?do=gb_video

It removes a LOT of links in the big drop down menu on left side of site that are default VB. Will take screen shot.

Why do a disclaimer? I think technically all it is doing is within a frame on your website, it is showing what is essentially on the video file sharing website.

When i try to have a profile video i have this message:

Is there a way that I can have it not pull the video title/name when I post a link to say like YouTube?

Installed. things seem to be doing fine. But I can't get highslide popup. When clicking on thumbnail, it just open new tab in firefox and open media in that tab. I checked chmod for .js and swf files and set them to 755. But no difference :(

I did fixed it. Sorry. May be I didn't chmod correctly. Chmod whole goldbrick folder to 755 did the trick.

Got something weird happening.

Installed and running 1.91 for awhile now and today was just looking at everything in the plugin manager and looking at the Goldbrick Product section I have a lot of plugins that have lines through the titles and set as not active. These are the ones lined out and set as inactive:

Any ideas why these would be inactive? Could another hack be causing this? Or are they set this way from the last update of 1.8, after upgrading from 1.5 to 1.8 there was only one that was set as inactive - goldbrick edit update process.

1. Located in vbulletins Forum Manager.
2. Enable or disable the use of Goldbrick Per forum.

can anyone help me, wht to do next and how to make use of it. please help...

Go to your admincp > forum manager.

Select one of your forums - click edit.

Scroll down, my settings for Goldbrick are second from the bottom.

You should see "Goldbrick Settings" and Enable Goldbrick in this forum yes or no.

You have to set this for it to work in whichever forum you want.

in the download file for Goldbrick take a look in the goldbrick_doc folders, theres one called usage that says how to use it.

Basically you just copy and paste the link of the video into a post. If you got it set up right you should see the video and be able to play it.

i am using vb3.7 , there is a `My Media` tab on user profile, i am wondering where to find that and translate this to my language,... there is no My Media to find in Phrase Manager.

I used a CSS cleaner tool and come up with this:

Errors remained. I then removed these two lines and the css errors were gone

I tested it afterwards in IE7 and Firefox 3. Worked fine, noticed no difference.

Also, any plans to add SlideShare? That would be awesome.

hi, i have just installed and it is working great as far as i can see HOWEVER some of my users are complaining that they can only get audio for the youtube links, they have no picture....

NICE MOD! I've been using it forever now. I have a problem though. How do I go about changing the flash video player's default size? It defaults to 320 x something, but I want mine (when playing flv video in GoldBrick) to default to 720 x 405. Where can this be changed? I can't find the code in the AdminCP and changing the default size in the Goldbrick options doesn't work... HELP! :eek:
