My suggestion, since these two add-ons appear to conflict with each other, was to create an AME plug-in that accomplished both tasks.

Hello,

I'd be very grateful if somebody could tell me how I can use AME to incorporate Amazon Ads with the Amazon affiliate code.

I myself display Amazon UK ads, I'd love it if AME could help me increase my non existent profits :D

Sadly the geek isn't offering any support to this mod right now...........everything is based off of users helping each other and i just don't know enough about foriegn keyboards.

NissanClub 12-13-2007 11:48 PM

Very very nice, thanks a lot :)

MotMann 12-14-2007 07:18 PM

How i install the Add ons?

hotwheels 12-15-2007 12:08 AM

Just grab an xml from this thread........go into your admin cp and open the ame cp. With that open, scroll down and click on import....now import the .xml and you are done.

MotMann 12-15-2007 07:20 AM

Okey.. i found that. Thanks :)

And how i can play the video from amazon.de? The Link works, but there comes no video from the Product.

@ geek. when you come back. I miss some news from your bannersysstem :D

sleepytom 12-16-2007 11:24 PM

firstly thanks for this mod its brilliant :)

now can someone please help me with the regex needed to support www.blip.tv ? Blip is a great video host who offer much bigger upload capacity and better quality than youtube and the like and (more importantly) it's very popular with my forum users... I've had a bit of a try myself with this but i'm a really too stupid to properly understand regex myself :(

sleepytom 12-17-2007 10:45 PM

I've made a solution for playing FLV files with JW FLV Player - this needs to be installed on your server though (still it's nice to stay within AME rather than use more resources for another media playing solution to play FLV) - so download the player and put it in a folder called "jw_flv_player" in your forum root directory, then install the xml as normal it it should work fine :)

I've also updated the quicktime support so that it correctly scales the video to fit the player - this prevents the issue of higher res files pushing the controls off the bottom of the player.

Hope these are useful to someone. (any help with blip.tv support would be much appreciated)

MotMann 12-17-2007 11:18 PM

And the QT Add On just Import? Or i must load that one on my Server too?

sleepytom 12-18-2007 01:50 AM

quicktime is just an import of the xml - overwrite if you've already imported the quicktime xml from the first page of this thread

hope it's useful :)

Capper5016 12-18-2007 04:59 PM

Any way to get this to work within the Blog Feature?

sweede 12-18-2007 05:14 PM

Is anyone else having an issue with this on 3.7.0 beta2 ? I updated my forums this morning and AME no longer processes new youtube (or any) links in posts.

I put ame on 3.7.0 beta 3 today and it seems to be working fine, here is a live example: http://insanemustangs.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2

It seems to be an issue with https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=155909 , in that the title URL replace mod is running before the AME mod and when the AME mod goes to read the post, it ignores the replaced movie URL.

The title url replace mod runs at the hook, url_to_bbcode . which i think is before AME runs no matter what

glorify 12-25-2007 10:27 PM

I can confirm working on my forums after 3.7 b3 upgrade.

KURTZ 12-26-2007 12:43 AM

i downloaded this great hack and i can tell you that onto 3.7.0B3 it's OK! but i need more supported video sites ...

*installed!

gfc 12-26-2007 06:07 AM

I have installed it and it works great - for most replacements..

I'm especially happy about the amazon link replacement, but it failes on special Characters, for example ? ? ? ? ? ? ( ) etc. Due to the fact that there are a lot of german and international Bands (e.g. Mot?rhead) using this Charakters - or think about the spanish with ? ? etc. - there should be a more open regexp in Place.

I've tried to modify the regexp for amazon by this:

http://[a-z??????]*\.amazon\.([a-z??????\.]*)/([\d\w_\-]*)/([product|dp|asin]+/[\d\w]+)(?:.*)

but it didn't work. Any ideas?

gfc 12-26-2007 06:17 AM

So I've a working solution for Amazon:
http://[a-z]*\.amazon\.([a-z\.]*)/([\d\w_??????\-]*)/([product|dp|asin]+/[\d\w]+)(?:.*)

when i put the url
Code:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOSM7dvkm5I
I click submit and it comes out like:
Code:

http://www.kurupt.ws/redirect-to/?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMOSM7dvkm5I
I have php5, no redirector script. And I also use vbSEO.

Example of what exactly is shown on my forum:
YouTube - Yeti's Christmas

^^^ is exactly what is looks like.

kvk007 12-29-2007 12:17 AM

I uploaded all the required file and imported the XML in the product manager. But it is not working! Maybe I am missing the point??

I write down the link of the youtube for instance without any EMBEDDED tags or so? And it should automatically convert it to movie? Well it's not working then.

I put http://www.youtube.com/v/fTQK5KewQ1g&rel=1 and it came as a URL

XxBuLLeTz 12-29-2007 02:06 AM

thanks for the mod :)

Start a new thread and click on the createlink image(the globe with the chain link under it) then paste the url into it. Submit the thread. It should post as an embedded video.

Still not working :\

Lombardo 12-29-2007 10:26 AM

This is a great mod,but im a total novice with vbulletin,i'm learning every day, once i upload it to the forums directory..i don't understand the rest, can someone maybe explain in easy terms so i can learn this, would be much appreciated

this is what i don't understand how to do...

# import the product.xml file into your product manager.
# After installation, make sure that the system is on (admincp->AME CP->Settings)

kvk007 12-29-2007 01:25 PM

It is not working. Maybe I am missing some point here, why isn't mine working??

It is turned on from the ADMIN CP, but when I post any link to do with YouTube, it just shows it as normal URL. Do I have to make HTML enabled?? I have HTML disabled on all forums.

Open up your vB control panel. On the left side of the screen, scroll down to Plugins & Products, then click on the arrow next to it to open the drop down menu, then click on Manage Products. When that screen opens to the right, find [Add/Import Product] and click on it. In the Import Product section, select Browse, locate where the xml file is on your computer, select it, then click on Import.

Get through this and you'll find the answer to your second question. If you don't, post again.

No!

In the CP, do you see >AME CP->Settings?

The top setting should be set to 'No'. It's confusing, but just set it to 'No'.

kvk007 12-29-2007 08:13 PM

Robert, THANKS!

Robert Paulson 12-30-2007 01:47 AM

No problem.

speaksell 01-01-2008 04:42 PM

Is there anyway to run AME in a cron job so I dont have to run it every day Manually

I would pay for this fix Not a lot but it would help out a lot

imported_yesonline 01-01-2008 05:02 PM

I have a problem about inserting the "php code" in article, I think there is something conflict between AME mod and "php code" insert function.

If I inserted a php code using this function https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/03/39.gif and when I submitted this article, it always came up with an error message page. However, the inserted php code was successfully post if I reloaded the browser.
I got a screenshot for details, please advise, thanks.
