Bingo - that did it - thank you so very very much! Enjoy your holiday weekend.

My sitemap http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...p_index.xml.gz says it hasn't been updated since 2006? Is that right? The thing says it's running, but I'm not getting it.

iojam 05-27-2008 06:26 PM

Try to regenerate sitemap manually.

Tried that... no luck. The lastmod dates show up as 2006 for some reason.

Cercle 05-29-2008 11:26 AM

I have not read this step and the original .htaccess file has been rewrited :(
Note: If you already have an .htaccess file in your forum root, DO NOT upload the vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap .htaccess file as it will replace the contents of this file.

What can I do now? Sorry Iojam :(

iojam 05-29-2008 12:42 PM

Kevlar,

what are the last output lines you see when execute sitemap generator?

Cercle,

you can restore your old .htaccess if you have a backup copy and then add rewrite rules for sitemap generator to the top of your old .htaccess.

Cercle 05-29-2008 05:19 PM

Hi iojam, thanks for your reply.

Is a new site and I don?t have still backups :(

Chimpie 06-01-2008 02:56 PM

Will this be updated for 3.7?

Kevlar,

check your error log to see if there are any details.

geevest.com,

do you mean vBSEO product or vBSEO Sitemap Generator? Please post vBSEO-related questions on www.vbseo.com

rigodiaz 06-08-2008 12:39 AM

Hi, thank you for this mod.

Im using Lighttpd... what do i have to do with the lighttpd_rewrite file?.

I Did it.

Working great.

Thank you, Installed!

Biggles 06-09-2008 12:56 PM

Hi

I've just tried installing this mod on my site and got this fatal error message when I ran the generator:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function vbseo_any_url() in /home/fhlinux145/b/XXXXXXXXx.co.uk/user/htdocs/forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap_functions.php on line 424

I have a feeling this is a problem at the (relatively new) server I'm using but, not being very experienced with such things, would appreciate some advice please.

Thanks in anticipation

NannyMin 06-09-2008 03:27 PM

Is there an updated version available for 3.7.1?

iojam 06-09-2008 04:16 PM

Kevlar,

you should contact your host to find out.

Biggles,

if you don't have vBSEO installed, make sure that you have "Include vBSEO URLs" option disabled.

NannyMin,

current version should work with v3.7.1.

I am 'the' host... I looked in the vbseo_sitemap directory and didn't see anything that looked remotely like an error_log. All I see is a directory called addons and data. Then the other vbseo files.

Are you talking about the httpd error log?

iojam 06-11-2008 06:35 PM

Yes, I mean Apache's error log.

geevest.com 06-16-2008 02:32 PM

i get many error connection if im install vbseo. i dont know why its because vbseo sitemap or vbseo.

geevest.com 06-16-2008 02:41 PM

iojam 06-17-2008 08:11 PM

joh 06-17-2008 11:14 PM

Iojam, I have the latest vbseo that was install no more than 5 days ago, as well as updated the site map. Is this what my site map should look like? http://www.nsraweb.com/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz

dknelson 06-18-2008 11:30 PM

I just checked my sitemap submissions at Google and see this:

General HTTP error: HTTP 403 error (Forbidden)
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

What would be causing it?

iojam 06-19-2008 03:09 PM

joh,

yes, your sitemap looks ok.

geevest.com,

do you always get them when sitemap is generated (nightly, depending on your scheduled task settings)?

dknelson 06-25-2008 12:07 AM

I'm still having problems. Any help would really be appreciated. Here is what I see when I check my sitemaps page:

I'm getting this error when trying to access the reports page. I'm running vb 3.7.2. This used to work on 3.7.1 PL2... It seems to be creating the sitemap file ok.. There's nothing in the server error log that I can see about this error either.

Any ideas how to fix this?

EDIT: Disregard this - I fixed my error. The issue was caused by a change I had made in my .htaccess file. My primary domain is kv-guild.net and talkvirginia (the site I was having vbSEO issues with) is a subdomain. I want traffic to enter through talkvirginia.net so have rewrite code which ignores requests for talkvirginia.kv-guild.net and redirects to talkvirginia.net, however the change I made in my .htaccess file, I had it redirecting to talkvirginia.net/forum/. vbSEO didn't like that. LOL :) Thought I would mention this in the event someone else ran into the same scenerio.

dknelson 06-25-2008 10:37 AM

Also, mine says "submitted May 29, 2008 but it gets submitted every day.

iojam 06-25-2008 08:57 PM

dknelson,

what is your sitemap URL?

dknelson 06-25-2008 09:20 PM

Thanks...is this the URL you are asking for?

http://www.venturerider.org/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

biglamb 06-26-2008 12:13 AM

ok I have a quick question or questions regarding this, my apologies before hand if this has been answered but now my head hurts from looking thru 40 odd pages.

Vbulletin 3.7.1 Patch 2
vBadvanced CMPS v3.0.1

Installed the sitemap back on 3.6.10
its keeping itself up to date but when I click 'show reports list' it goes back to login screen. Forgive me if I am losing it but isnt there a report there? what am I missing here?

I should probably add what I have done already, the basic browser things because that was my first thought, happening in both IE and Firefox. Uninstalled all the way and pulled the files and reloaded.

Thanks in advance

A site map is supposed to be generated?

I have to back into Google's tools to get the exact error but when I used the sitemap checker Google didn't recognize it.

Edit... here it is:

Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit

I deleted vbseo and re-installed it due to it not working........Now I get this error message from google: Empty Sitemap
Your Sitemap does not contain any URLs. Please validate and resubmit your Sitemap.
How do I fix it?
Tom

MnTom 06-30-2008 03:01 PM

I figured out why I got the message. I gave the URL of just the folder, not the actual sitemap....... Doh!! Now I get a 404 Not Found error message......... Anyhow, how can I get it to where I don't have to manually submit sitemaps?
