This modification will work on 3.5.x - its designed to work with any vbulletin that supports product.xml import.

There is an update due to be released, which I'm hoping to get done shortly.:)

Cool, Let me install today. Thank!

Anyone wanting to view the new Xeon Z4 can see it here:

http://www.digitalport.co.uk/digital...&template=xeon

This will be the new popup box, using independent CSS for maximum color matching. :)

angkor408 11-17-2007 02:58 PM

For some reason it doesn't play. I already set usergroup to allow permission. Also, I noticed when I looked at my setting in MP3 setting management >> Add MP3 playlist 1, click on edit

Approve MP3 >> i checked on approve but alway default to NO.

Here my mp3 link that I added one music but doesn't show any title or hear anything.

The 4.0 zip file still has the old skin. Was that intentional? No big deal though.. I like the old skin because it matches my forum colors.

No changes were made to the actual player, all changes related to files and a few template updates. There is a new player due out soon, but that uses independent CSS - I think I put a screenshot preview of the player in the v4.0 package.

Gotcha. I thought the new player was going to be part of this release.

Any plans for:

1. Increasing the number of playlists (maybe an Admin function)

2. Increasing the number of songs in playlists to >100

3. The admin capability of naming the playlists, i.e, Rock, Pop, Country, etc.

4. Admin function to move songs between playlists.

Great Mod! Thanks! Can't wait to see what the paid mod offers.. it will definitely be on my buy list.

Most of these features will be within the Pro version.

I'll answer these questions in order...

1. The free version is limited to 5 playlists - the planned Pro version has unlimited playlists.

2. No limits on number of tracks per playlist.

3. All playlists can be added via AdminCP and named to whatever the admin sets them.

4. There's many features for manipulating tracks between playlists, and also sorting in various ways.

Additionally, the Pro version allows re-skinning to an extent, repeat and shuffle tracks buttons on the player.

Matty.B 12-05-2007 05:15 AM

Have you edited the headinclude template and added the following line?

HTML Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/flashobject.js"></script>

Thanks for the info. Another great feature would be for users to be able to select specific songs from the playlist(s) to skip or play.

EDIT: I take that back. That is probably a feature I could not live without. I added about 80 classic rock songs to my player and already had to delete 20 of them because people told me some of the songs were the most overplayed songs of all time. They were, of course, 100% correct. Even so, some people may have been living in a cave all these years and still like to hear these songs. That it why it would be really nice for the end user to have more control over what they hear, or do not hear. Perhaps something akin to a radio button next to the songs in the playlist with upper level options to 'Skip Selected' or 'Play Selected' or 'Play All'.

syrus.xl 12-10-2007 01:34 PM

This could be looked into, at the moment we are concentrating on getting all the aforementioned working flawlessly, first.

:)

bostton1 12-10-2007 06:24 PM

the latest release fixed the editing issue, but you still aren't able to change the ID number so you can change the display order.

when is the paid version being released?

weedheaven 12-15-2007 07:57 AM

I dont got any errors and it even says added. But aproved always default to no aproved mp3 (tought this was fixed?)

richTV 12-23-2007 07:02 AM

Hi Syrus.

Been using your Xeon since last Xmas and it's working great.
I updated also to the latest Xeon a couple weeks ago and that is fine too.

I just went ahead and added the custom_Xeon template and it looks very nice however i couldn't maximize the screen so it looked awkward with having to move the slide bar to see the links i have on the right side so within the navbar template, i changed

resizable=Yes,fullscreen=Yes

and that's working fine.

my question is how drop down menus react when near the player [refer to pic below]

is there anything i could edit in the navbar or custom xeon template so that the player isn't always on top?

i would like the drop down menu to take precedence if possible.

tnx. :)

syrus.xl 12-23-2007 08:40 AM

Hi richTV,

That issue has been addressed on most of our modifications, its a well known issue when using Flash and DHTML dropdown near one another. It requires a alteration to the embed code and a new js file added, to fix the issue across all browsers (Safari does still suffer slightly when rendering the code, and tends to 'flicker' very slightly).

I'll redo the coding with the added parameter, and new js file, so it functions correctly. :)

misticjeff 12-23-2007 09:26 AM

I really need to be able to place the songs in the correct running order. As it is now, no matter how I upload them, they are just a jumble in the player and not in order.

Anyway to do this??

This is because the default player uses a shuffle feature to randomize all tracks on each load. There is another player available in Optional Extras in the Download Area in the main post called 'No Shuffle Player Only Optional Extra.zip' - download this and overwrite the default player with this one.

OK, overwrote the other player with this one and now get a blank screen with no player visible. Any suggestions?

WOW, very frustrating... I replaced the non-shuffling player with the original and still get a blank screen now. It was working fine just shuffling the contents. How do I get it back?

misticjeff 12-23-2007 06:07 PM

OK,

just uninstalled everything and reinstalled... working fine now...

I would really like to support your product and purchase the Pro Version. Any idea when it will be ready?

It's OK, I removed all, installed again, all is good now...

But how do I, or what do I need to put in the playlist, so my mp3's that are on my server can been seen and played, what formatting do I need

www.xxxxx.com/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/ etc... something like that I will guess

syrus.xl 01-10-2008 08:16 PM

Yes, the player requires the full url to any mp3 file. Also note, that the naming of the mp3 files is also quite strict - more details on this can be found here.

angkor408 01-26-2008 04:15 AM

How come the media doesn't play? I have added with vbadvanced. The play buttom keep tickle off/on.

The play button will flash in 'Play' mode, that is part of the design.

If media is not playing it could be a number of reasons. Due to the way vBadvanced CMPS can be installed will vary on the where the player looks for the playlist, therefore it maybe necessary to change all relative urls used in the modification to absolute.

jambo_1969 02-06-2008 04:01 PM

AWESOME !!!

Painless install and painless operation :D

Hope the server holds up ;)

ChaosBurnt 02-10-2008 01:30 PM

Superb player, thank you very much for this excellent mod'.

*installed*

I wonder, is there anyway we can make the player wider so we can have longer track titles to include artist - album - song title in the tracks name? Or is there some way of making the track title scroll, if I add something like Bloodbound - Book Of The Dead - The Tempter, all we can see is Bloodbound - Book Of The.
Is it possible to do something like this at all?

syrus.xl 02-21-2008 12:40 PM

Isn't the text scrolling on the player? It shouldn't cut-off text fields, unless I need to modify the actuall sql field that holds this data.

E 03-05-2008 04:55 PM

Thanks for making this player, it's really cool!

I'm pretty inexperienced with adding hacks, I had a few questions I was hoping for some help with

1) Is there a way to make it so the users can upload their songs to the server directly the same way attachments are added to posts? It would seem that's more convenient for the users than linking to their files
2) As you can see in the pic, after I push "add mp3" on the player, it opens another tab within the popup window. The problem is the popup is obviously small. Is it possible to make it so when you push "add mp3" it doesn't open this within a tabbed popup?
3) As you can see with the popup, its showing in the "add mp3" interface its giving the ability to add 3 mp3's at once and the screen looks kinda cluttered. In the screenshot shown of the app, it only shows 1 and looks nice. Did I do something wrong?

Any help you can give is appreciated. Thanks!

We are releasing a commercial version that does allow uploading of mp3's - however, this feature does require a server test script to be run beforehand, to test the uploading of data larger than PHP limitations. Some webhosts do not allow you to adjust this value or override it. We have this side currently working on VPS and dedicated servers. We are currently running a survey on our website regarding new features and a brand new mp3 player engine, far more advanced than this free version. In development the new version can accept mp3 uploads and then read the mp3 id tag, which you can edit if you wish or just click save, it's virtually all automatic and includes an upload progession bar.

This can be adjusted by altering the javascript code that opens the window. We are working on an update that will fix this issue.

The original version was coded with just one input field, this was extended to 3 during one of the upgrades, however the template was not updated for the additional field. This is only a minor adjustment which will be fixed in the next release.

E 03-05-2008 07:15 PM

Thanks for the quick response, I'm looking forward to seeing updates in the future.

syrus.xl 03-05-2008 07:38 PM

We've will have a new updated player available soon, to suit light colored forum styles. It has been designed already, but we've not released the player as of yet.

Biya 03-19-2008 02:57 PM

Uploading on this version is not possible, we will be releasing a version with this feature available, but this will be commercial only.

Playlist renaming is only available on custom players at the moment. This maybe added in a future version.

Call me dumb but where are the layman's instructions for setting this thing up? I had our webmaster set it up on the forum. But how to use? No where in this thread gives set up instructions from the user's point of view or am I wrong??

Here's the screen shot after installation. Is this right? I don't see the player itself.

1. where do you get the mp3 url's? are there free websites you get free mp3's?
