I get this error when trying to run the RC3 vbiupgrade.php

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: file_get_contents() in /home/.sites/148/site6/web/b/install/vbiupgradecore.php on line 38

OK, you have an old PHP version so I'll have to make a few changes, when the file vBindex-3.0.0-RC3_Build-5.zip is attached to the first post download and try that one.

In vbindex.php find around line 392:

FROM ".TABLE_PREFIX."user 
and replace with:

Uploaded the RC3 build 5. The files (vbioptions.php/vbiupgrade.php) load but still getting same errors as before. I can't get through the installation.

I've tried going through steps manually by changing the url (vbiupgrade.php?step=3,4 etc) and it either gives me an error saying something already exists or it sends me back to the shoutbox error above.

the vbioptions page menus are still empty, and the vbindex page is still blank.

vbiupgrade.php doesn't contain any steps that do the installation, if you know how far you got in the install process I can tell you which file to start from :)

Edit; If you got as far as step 3, but step 4 didn't work then start from vbiupgrade2.php?step=4

Turn the asending shoutbox option off untill you make some shouts or upgrade to RC3.

I got as far as getting this error, or in other words clicking the button on the vbiupgrade.php page.

Then you told me to skip that step after I posted about it, so I changed the step number in the url (http://www.rapcheck.com/b/install/vb...de1.php?step=2) I went up to 10, each time only sending me to a page with a button that says Convert/Install shoutbox. So I kept messing with the url, went through vbiupgrade2 and 3 and step numbers to 10. The only steps that did anything where http://www.rapcheck.com/b/install/vb...de1.php?step=3
