well, this is strange anyways...
I found the code in the xml file for this plugin that says: PHP Code:
I guess I will avoid this plugin as I see a redirect inside the code to vbresult website... |

I downloaded the version 3.0.2 on 8/1/12 and it does not have that code in it. I just checked. You must have downloaded the newer version which is now listed on this mod. I would be very careful about installing any code with embedded redirects. I'm always cautious about using mods and ALWAYS scan them with Norton. Also , sometimes when you report mod bugs the mod author asks for admin access to you site to check the mod. Giving a stranger admin access or any kind of special access to your site is a very bad idea. |
I sent a message to Steve at Lancerforhire to find out Disco, Spam Hammer is his.
I have found this invaluable using the Publishing Suite AS a Publishing suite, being able to posts for Contributors in their name has helped growth and allowed newbies to get their heads around vB ways. I/we really need this in Calendars and Blogs. FORTUNATELY I have found a work around for the Calendars through a 4.2.1 fix for the Events Forum...I have it working on my 4.2.2pl1 site and it not only allows me to point my bands and promoters to a reliable Gig Guide (given Farcaster's awesome additions for the Calendars and Events Forum). It has been frustrating not being able to upload pics from my computer, iCalendars only accept url uploads and for my punters contributors this is often too much to work out, their just Bloggers eh? This works for me and I suppose it will also allow me to change the names of Authors now the Calendars and Forums are connected. I still REALLY need this for the Blogs though. It is a royal pain to have to login as a member to post for them, a 3 stage process... I am actually having a lot of fun banging a multimedia newspaper into a vB4 site, www.tooraktimes.com.au, still a dummy, or as youse web dudes say 'Beta' site but a live build. Anything CMS orientated is much looked for by me. |
Steve's cool mate
Got this, Mick, I did not take over that mod; the author and I had a partnership some time ago and since spam hammer shut down he removed the code. It appears he forgot to delete a phrase, that's all. |

That looks like more than just a leftover phrase to me. You might want to report the mod to the admins and have them look at it.
|
Steve also did Spam Hammer, pity that can't be supported any longer
|
It's not really a good idea to include a redirect and prompt for your email address in a mod without disclosing that on the mod description.
