Tagged to install next week.

:)
Latest stable release 4.0.100 of this product is fully compatible with both vB 3.8.x & vB 4.0.x in the same time ;).

Thanks for the tip. For admin noobies, is this as simple as copying a directory over, or is something else involved? Since I never had 3.x, where would I get hold of those gifs/pngs?

Apologies for the off-topic question and reply:

I'm not sure where you would get a copy of the old smiles if you never owned 3.x. Isn't there an option to download it from your Member Area where your licenses are listed? Alternatively, I guess you could go to a 3.x forum site and download them using "save picture as" from posts.

Once you have them saved in a folder called "smiles", upload that folder via FTP to /images/smiles/ overwriting the new files.

Or find a set of smilies you like online, upload those, and delete the standard 4.x ones from your ACP.

Silly question, but I can't seem to open the JS file needed to edit in the client scrip. Do I need a specific program to do this? I can edit php files etc. and everything else, but I can't seem to open the JS file. Thank you.

Edit: Nevermind I got it.

Quick question though, I have custom mod editors from my forum (ie. google maps, photobucket slideshow etc), however they are not brought over to the visitor message, album area etc. Are there any way to bring these functions over from the forum to the rest of the site? Thank you in advance. Installed and nominated!

Sounds great you got it :).
Fore those who may ask about editing JS files, it's simply possible using notepad, but notepad++ recommended. If you're a coder, then you can open & edit it using your favorite IDE.
Regarding those products that you've such as google maps & others, please refer to their programmers asking them about the ability to bring functionality on other places.

Go back to your Members area where you downloaded vBulletin. Download it again, this time clicking "Other options" and selecting the version with "Uncompressed Javascript".

Dear, it isn't required.
You can go with the default files included in the default package (the compressed JS).

Instead of requiring a manual JS edit, why not just do something like this in your file, assuming it's included after vbulletin_quick_reply.js:

Code:

qr_hide_errors2 = qr_hide_errors;
qr_hide_errors = function(){ qr_hide_errors2(); phpkd_vbaqr(); };

Not sure it will succeed with our product's features. But will try it. Thanks for your suggestion.

Running 4.0.2.

Make sure you aren't using any other products/addons/plugins for the same purpose "adding features for quick reply".

Same here. :erm:

Went thru and double checked the install. I can not see anything missed.

Update: I went through and fiddled a bit. It seems that if I only select one style to apply it to, it works in the style. If I select multiple styles, it does not. Can we get and All Styles button? Thanks.

OK another followup: Set the style selection to 'Select Styles' and it works in all styles.
On another note, my smileys are running off to the right, not up and vertically. Any ideas?

Can you please supply a screenshot for your issues.

I hate to seem to be picking this apart but I love this mod from the past. I turned off the option to display smilies below editor. This put smilies to the right of the editor. Thanks again.

You are welcome :).

Hello Dear, this product doesn't affect the advanced editor in any way. It deals with the quick reply only & that's why your problems isn't due to our product.
By the way this issue is very simple, just follow the following steps to change the editor's mode:
User Control Panel -> Edit Options -> Miscellaneous Options -> Message Editor Interface -> Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls/Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing
Every user has this issue should do so, or you can apply one setting over all users from AdminCP by following these steps:
Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Automatic Query -> Show Standard Editor Toolbar/Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor Toolbar

Again, this isn't something related to our product. Just trying to help.
Please don't hesitate to install our product again after fixing this issue & supply us with your welcomed feedback ;).

I got it working,I failed to revert my template after disabling other hacks. Great mod!

swiftor 03-16-2010 03:25 AM

I wasn't able to get this working. I don't have any other hacks that edit quick reply (to my knowledge), and I edited the js file as instructed (although I edited it after I uploaded the xml file, but would that make a difference?)

When turned on, the quick reply box just doesn't show at all. Any thoughts?
