I have been successful viewing CBChat inside VB by using iframe coding.

This version does not do flashchat "inside" vb - however, the version for 3.6 will. :)

Lighting90 07-10-2006 08:07 PM

Now I know I may have missed something, but where is the admin of the flash chat suppose to be?
There is nothing in my vb admin panel for the flashchat, the flash chat works fine and memebers can join the chat and I am in as admin on the chat. Just don't seem to be ble to find the controls to control rooms etc:cross-eyed:

It also seemed to upload okay your file using products, showed templates been updated etc....

VB3.5.4

Paul M 07-10-2006 08:29 PM

Flashchat has it's own admin control, at ..../chat/admin/

Lighting90 07-10-2006 09:22 PM

Thanks, I thought that was the case but got confused by their documentation when they talked about having it intergrated with some bulletin boards it would be in their admin panels and you shouldn't use the flash chat one....

Many thanks on this add on, it has been worth it...

joanne8621 07-12-2006 02:28 PM

I'm running VB 3.5.4 and trying to install the lastest version of Flashchat, but am a little confused as to where to imput th eVB license number. When I open vbulletin35CMS.php I can't see where to put the license number.

Thanks

Paul M 07-12-2006 04:25 PM

Did you read the main post ?

Quote:

vB 3.5 integration allows ;

* Authorised members to be automatically logged in.
* All non authorised members are locked out (both are based on usergroup membership).
* If enabled, the users location is now displayed in WOL (use the plugin to avoid "Unknown Location").
* The CMS file no longer requires your vb licence code to be entered.
* Automatic login now works even if a member has not ticked "remember me".

vwdforum 07-12-2006 10:55 PM

Is it possible to show at the top of the forum if/which members are currently in the flash chat room?

hydn 07-13-2006 04:16 AM

Can the user Location be added in Flash chat?

For instance in the Flash Chat Room's users list, e.g:
Chat Room Name
username1 (Miami)
username2 (Germany)
username3 (NYC)

Second, can the user location be displayed just below the user avatar on using the PM feature in Flash chat?

Thanks guys!

Paul M 07-13-2006 06:32 PM

Sorry, but no - those things would require changes to Flashchat itself.

SCORPION1 07-16-2006 04:25 PM

i have installed and all running perfect just one little problem i have when a member leaves the flashchat or closes it
it does not redirect them to the main fourms it stays on flashchat anyone know why this is;)

Smiry Kin's 07-19-2006 01:59 AM

Re-direct on close is an option in flashchat's config.

FLMom 07-20-2006 03:05 PM

Hi Paul,
I installed FlashChat over the weekend and I accidently installed it in the main root directory, I am not good with FTP, so how can I move the chat folder to the Forum Directory without starting from scratch? Can you please help?

Also, once I get it in the right directory, will it then be working the right way? Meaning if my members click on the Chat link they will be taken right to the chatroom without registering or logging in?

Thanks for any help you can offer! I am also ready to give you any site info you need to look at things if required..

Paul M 07-20-2006 05:11 PM

PM me ftp access details, and an admin login and I can fix it for you, i'm around for a couple of hours now, and then tomorrow.

FLMom 07-20-2006 05:28 PM

Thank you so much Paul! I am pm'ing you now :D

FLMom 07-20-2006 07:16 PM

I just wanted to thank Paul publicly for being so kind and helping me out! My members are going nuts over this!!!

AndyP 07-21-2006 01:25 AM

Paul, what needs to be done to upgrade from 2.60 to 2.61.

Just upload the CMS file and reinstall the plugin?

Paul M 07-21-2006 01:34 AM

Yes. You will need to re-edit any usergroup changes to the CMS file (if you made any).

AndyP 07-21-2006 03:20 AM

Ah, of course. Thanks.

Smiry Kin's 07-21-2006 12:20 PM

yeh but the 4.6.1 is beta.. things might have changed..

barryhand 07-22-2006 02:27 PM

So where do I access the options in AdminCP ?

I can access the chat, but it's not within vB? just the standard chat login

siraxi 07-29-2006 12:50 AM

Hi

This flashchat thing is so cool. I have integrated in my forums and it works perfectly. Now, I'd like to be able to display the number of user currently in the chat rooms. How do I do that ?

Thank you very much!

DannyBoy8406 08-12-2006 03:17 AM

Ok.. I posted about this in the Flash Chat forums... but there are way more people here online and maybe somebody can help me. I just installed FlashChat and something weird happend. The chat installed fine and works perfectly from what I can tell.... but my forums went down and it says there's a database error. However I have not gotten an email to tell me what's wrong at all.... any ideas? Can anyone help?

Paul M 08-12-2006 04:52 AM

There is not much anyone can do unless you post the actual error, or even a link so we can see it ourselves.

DannyBoy8406 08-12-2006 05:11 AM

I'm sorry... I wasn't receiving the email it was sending (I thought it was weird) my SPAM filter was catching it.

here is the error in the email:

Database error in vBulletin :

Invalid SQL:

WHERE title IN ('','options','bitfields','forumcache','usergroupc ache','stylecache','languagecache','products','plu ginlist','cron','smiliecache','bbcodecache','mailq ueue','hidprofilecache');

Paul M 08-12-2006 05:23 AM

Well the datastore table is missing, so you have either deleted it, which is bad, or you have screwed up your config.php file. Either way it's not related to this hack so you need to start a seperate thread in the vb discussion forum.

IncredibleHawk 09-01-2006 09:28 PM

TY Very much!

angkor408 09-08-2006 05:46 PM

Hi, I'm very new to this stuff. I don't get the first step. I unzip my file but dont see any file that contain install.php or install_files. Is there other flashchat I have to download? I have vbulletin 3.5X with VBadvanced integration. Thank. Angkor.

Step 1.

Install Flashchat, tick the option to integrate with a CMS (on the first page where file permissions are checked)

On the CMS page choose vBulletin 3.5 (Near the bottom).

* remember to remove install.php & the install_files folder when you have done *

Paul M 09-08-2006 07:12 PM

This is an add-on for Flashchat - you get that from Tufat (links in first post).

FLMom 09-10-2006 04:02 PM

Paul, I hope you can help me again here.

I wanted to uninstall this because of all the security issues and the fact that no one really uses it :( I deleted the chat folders from the forums directory but forgot that the whole thing was integrated with my site.

Now I am getting an error
Quote:

Warning: Unknown(./chat/inc/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /index.php(64) : eval()'d code on line 138

Fatal error: (null)() [function.require]: Failed opening required './chat/inc/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/ctyler06/public_html/forums/index.php(64) : eval()'d code on line 138
Can you please help me with this? I still have your username and password from when you installed this for me a couple of months ago. If you need the info again just let me know..

At this point, I can get to my site, everything works but the forums. I can even click on New Posts LOL

Is there anything you can do to help?

Thanks for any and all help you can offer!

Cori
