Just a gentle post from a VIP user

1. I use the Vbsocial 6.3 product and it is cool. However, make sure to take backup before you install any product. Some products (Vbsocial Wall activity stream) are in beta phase and can cause lot of DB problems especially in Activity stream and profile region. Complicates if you have VBseo.

2. The integration of other third party products with Vbsocial doesn't work that well. For example, the Vbseo Like integration, DBtech tagging isnt as seamless. This is especially true if you have some custom usergroups.

3. The integration of VBsocial Wall and Notification isn't smooth either. Many times when you write something on the wall and some other user likes your status or comments on it, you dont get a notification for it.

4. If you have a heavily customized theme, then god help you with the installation. Most of the changes they suggest on the manual have no impact on the way Vbnotification is displayed. Most of the times it is either not aligned properly or take lot of additions in the templates. The manuals are confusing too. Somewhere it says add code to Livenotifications.Css and the support says to do it in Additional.Css. So if you are new to this, you will get confused.

5. The Product support is one of the worst I have seen. Even free mods here get better support. The VIP support forums are left unanswered for a long long time and in between the user is left hanging while he awaits the reply of developers. The reply however is to the point and solves the problem.

6. The themes they provide are a delight. Work very well. Server load is low and does not impact performance. Rest of the features like Vbsocial view, Slider. Revenue share are also good.

They seem sincere in their effort but are slightly less organised. If they can improve on that, then they will be a force to reckon with.

Please if you can update it to 6.4 to fix this bug, I don't need v7 features, why I must wait two months for it?

Hi, i got just an info when a user reply the first time in my thread.
After this, i got no info, is it right?

You should continue to relcieve notifications after first time from reply as long as user doesn't post again and again in a row.

I'm gessing vBSocial Notifications version 7 is almost ready to be released?

Its' released, lite needs to be released though too. Will be soon. We've been fixing up bugs with ultimate versions before lite release

Nice update (I think). Some things I've noticed though.

Your manual needs fixed - the replacement code for both the
disable_vb_default_settings and disable_vb_default_profile contains errors, also at the beginning it says 'Add after:' {vb:raw livenotifications_header} - add what after?

Took me a while to get it working with my 'Seamus' theme, I had to rework the header and comment tons of stuff out - the welcome text, username and logout links were all still showing, also I completely disabled the notification header for guests as it was showing error in the login/register area (see image).

DBtech's Thanks/Likes don't show up either. I've not tried out all of the other stuff yet.

ln_reputation seems to have been missed in cache_templates

*Manual is still underworks. Though for the most part, only needed if someone has a heavily modified theme. The auto-install has been working for most themes. Will be out soon though of course.

*Login glitch - Does this occur with your default theme - or is that just for that custom theme. Can't replicate that atm.

*DBtech thanks/likes - will need to check into it. We've been testing with their lite vers. Can someone send a pro version to support@vbsocial.com. Also just an FYI, there is a built-in thanks system that works with notifications sys. in vB7 Notifications Ult.

Just on my custom theme, but the default theme doesn't align properly either, I've not looked but the css probably needs adjusted.

If I disable the black fixed livenotificaion header and use it same 6.3

RTL.. for header and logo, there is no support for that. Sorry.

You can change the vbsocial logo - Of course.

Search field - in this version can't be disabled. It is vBulletin search though.

6.3 >> RTL supported but there is a bug in foreign language (will be fixed in v7.0)
7.0 >> The foreign language bug is fixed but the product now is not supporting RTL!

Unfortunately I was waiting two month for somthing does not support RTL.
For me 6.3 = 7.0 = I cannot use it. Sorry David

Installation fails, I tried importing the plugin adn it dies. Is there a size issue with how many users/posts?

I got a notification that a post had been thanked/liked......... only problem is the post was liked/thanked 5 days ago and I got the notification about a hour ago.

Will these bug fixes make it work on vb3?

So i installed the new version 7 lite, ended uo just not allowing anyone to use it, so it was still enabled but not being used. The mod actually took away my search bar. So i had to disable it completely to get it back.

Yeah!!! Me too...

Never mind.

the drop down do not work anywhere? it just showed the red notification box. is this because its lite?
