I've installed this arcade but I'm unable to use it. I have posted on vBadvanced forum but no one seems to be replying to my posts regarding the problems I have.

Gemma 10-11-2012 01:05 PM

What problems are you having?

Sorry, just had a second stint in hospital so not really arounc much. And it looks like the guys on vbadvanced don't support their products anymore - support there has been poor for years but is now downright pathetic IMO

Let me know your problem(s)/errors and I'll get back to you ASAP

Lucyloo 10-11-2012 01:49 PM

Thank you Gemma and I hope you're feeling better :)

I have two problems:

Blank White Screen

I have just installed the v3 Arcade but the ibPro Games give a blank white screen when submitting the scores. I have done as suggested in your sticky "Problem Solving - Solutions To Common Errors" thread but I'm still having the same problem. Any help would be appreciated

Arcade Tab and Links

When I click on the Arcade tab it takes me to the arcade but the links that I have added in the Parent, "Arcade Games", "View Leaderboard" and "Your Arcade Settings" do not appear when the tab is clicked on. The links still show: News Posts, FAQ, Calendar, etc.

Is there something else I need to enable or disable please?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

are we talking about all game types or just a specific format - IPB, v3Arcade games (not that there are many of them about) or MochiMedia games?

Have you run any other arcade in the past that required you to edit files (for example index.php or htaccess) where code may still be left behind?

Disable the plugin - Arcade Navbar Link is the only plugin you need to disable

Have you made sure that the product used is inputted as v3 Arcade - some people had left this as vBulletin which caused problems.

There is a few posts between #842 and #854 in this thread where someone was having navigation problems, have you tried following the suggestions I posted there?

People are now using methods other than the default Navigation Manager, can you take a screenshot of your Navigation Manager links for v3 Arcade that are in the AdminCP for me?

Hello there,

I was wondering where i can find the free standard games for this. It is very hard to find anything as all the links point to threads in the vbarcade site http://www.v3arcade.com/forums/index.php which has only the message that it is part of vbadvanced now, but over there is no list of the free standard games only how to install them...
Please help

It uses the same games as IPB Arcade, linking to those games isn't permitted on vbulletin.org so you'll need to do a Google search - something like IPB arcade games downloads should bring up some pages - and/or you can set your system up to use Mochi games from the http://mochimedia.com website and install the games directly from your admincp

Thanks Gemma,

Support is so bad in there I don't understand.
I will have to hire someone to set it up for me I guess...

I have fixed the white screen and not saving scores by looking into one of the previous threads you suggested. It was altering the index.php file to include the line

"require_once('./includes/v3arcade_vbsuite_index_compatibility.php');"

As I wasn't running the CMS option in vBulletin, I didn't think I had to do it. But it seems necessary for anybody using vB4.

Thanks again for your help, it all seems to be working fine at the moment :)

Place it above require('forum.php');

So it should look like this:
Code:

require_once('./includes/v3arcade_vbsuite_index_compatibility.php');
require('forum.php');

You might want to edit out your licence number from the post you made above :)

it works thank you, it was the index.php (I was blind not seen it)

Can I upload game zip files to my server and do a mass install? I see the ibpro lets you do it with .tar files.

Thanks!

Uses the same games as ibpro. Upload the tar files to your admincp/games folder and install via your vbulletin admincp

Here's a PM I received from a member:

I just played Bang, House of Chocolates, and Rollercoaster Creator, and when it came time to submit my score, none of the games saved my score even though I beat my own high score. Instead it took me back to the main forums page.

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

Which one? index.php or forum.php

And, which index.php? I have 2. One in forum root, one in forum directory.

Not really sure why you have two index.php files, can you post the contents of them (in Code BBcode tags and without any licence info) if you don't mind?

Since one of the index.php files is much older than the other (version 4.0.2 and the other is the newer 4.2.0pl2), I'll assume you should only be using the newer one.

Replace:
Code:

require('forum.php');
With:
Code:

require_once('./includes/v3arcade_vbsuite_index_compatibility.php');
require('forum.php');

Save and upload the index.php. See if that solves your scoring issues.

Bob_R 10-26-2012 11:25 PM

I hope I explain this correctly.

The index in my forum directory is actually my forum.php renamed to index.php becuase I have vBseo and I wish not to have double forums/forum in my URL.

What now?

Bob_R 10-28-2012 02:47 AM

Ironically the member who notified me of high scores not being recorded was indeed able to record high scores last night without me ever changing the files. :eek:

Thoughts?

How could that be?

Do I really need the aforementioned line of code then?

You could still run into problems with scores but you may get away with it, I've not come across anyone who has renamed their forum.php to index.php

This is how game scoring works. The v3 Arcade formatted games (that come with a fresh install of v3 Arcade) and the Mochi "bridge" (to allow sites to save Mochi scores locally) post back to the arcade.php script so you shouldn't have any problems using either of those type of games. However, IPB games require the index.php file to 'report' games scores to and the compatibility the hook "forumhome_start" is used to execute the code (earlier code I posted).

You may get away without any scoring issues.

snow2000 10-29-2012 07:41 PM

For some reason I can not write at vbadvanced.com: you do not have permission to access this page Why is that?

How can I delete all installed games in one step?

No idea, you would need to contact vBAdvanced owners to find out why.

Quote:

Can't be done in one step.

You'd need to at the very least empty the v3arcade_games and v3arcade_sessions tables in your database (depending on what you are planning on doing you may want to empty the other v3arcade_ tables too) then you would delete the contents of your 'arcade', 'games' and 'images/arcade' folders via FTP.

Recon0303 11-02-2012 05:34 AM

I can't seem to get any support on this mod on the main forum at all, so this is my last try before I uninstall it.

For some reason in the RSS feed to shows High scores which is great , but the first person to get a High score on one game , was able to, but now when someone beats the score it does not replace it with the new person.

Any help would be great Thanks in advance. 4.2 Suite CMS, I do have Regular Vbulletin.

Gemma 11-02-2012 07:53 AM

Does it give you any error messages when the new highscore is achieved?

Does the new score show in the game's scoring list?

Does it happen with all game types or just one - v3 arcade games, mochi or IPB?

Did you make the edit required to your index.php file for running vbulletin CMS?

Have the highscores ever recorded properly?

Recon0303 11-06-2012 01:19 AM

Does it give you any error messages when the new highscore is achieved? No

Does the new score show in the game's scoring list? In the RSS Feed Yes works fine

Does it happen with all game types or just one - v3 arcade games, mochi or IPB? One game shows one person the first person ever to play as the high score never changes, other games nothing shows up, no award given etc, one game it gave him an award as well, but if someone beats his high score nothing.

Did you make the edit required to your index.php file for running vbulletin CMS? I was looking for any edits, can you link me the post that is required so I can make sure please? This is prolly the issue. But need teh corrects edits please.

Have the highscores ever recorded properly? No never since day 1. Had it a few months but been busy with other stuff, and was waiting for a reply from the main site and got one but they never replied back when I answered them..

Open your index.php file and do the edit in this post - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=900

Also, I've amended this file; extract the archive and upload the v3arcade_index_compatibility.php file to your includes folder overwriting the existing file.

Then go to AdminCP > v3 Arcade > Maintenance and run the Rebuild Game Scores and Rebuild Awards & High Score Cache tools.

See if that helps.

Recon0303 11-07-2012 10:39 PM

it doesn't work at all, I get an error and I never seen any show up, I did add the link like one someone showed me on these forums awhile back.

Oh I just got a member of my community saying all the new games from mochi they get a page not found when they try and keep a high score now..

The games that came with vbulletin work fine now .. but I ADDED about 200 games, from mochi last night, none of them keep a high score.

Do you have a link to your site so I can get a better understanding of what is going on? (with viewing permissions or temporary account if possible)

Did you upload the crossdomain.xml file in the v3arcade.zip archive to your site root? (ie www.yourdomain.crossdomain.xml)

Recon0303 11-09-2012 02:41 AM

No I have not let me try that adding that xml to the root.

Recon0303 11-09-2012 02:52 AM

not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I get this, I added that file, but should it be in the root VB, or arcade part of the root. Want to be sure. I will PM you an account to look.

I see your leaderboard just fine, check your links in the Navigation Manager as it looks like you've set them up wrong.

The crossdomain.xml is not in your site root.

It should be www.yourdomain.com/crossdomain.xml not www.yoursite.com/folder/crossdomain.xml - you should also have a html verification file from MochiMedia in your site root?
