Hello - I read through several pages and didn't see this suggestion (though I'm sure someone has suggested it) so I thought I would address it.

Is there any way (in a future release) to have a username list pop up when you type "@" and start to type a username? Kind of like the way Facebook does where it makes suggestions?

I don't know if that would be too resource-intensive but it would be a cool touch.

We have a "Post Reports" account and when a user reports another users posts then the account posts the "Reported Post" in a hidden forum. I believe this all default to vbulletin can changed around. Anyway we have started to notice recently that users are getting notification about the Post Reports account quoting the rule breaking post. It's never happened before - Has something changed in the plugin?

Unfortunately that's not currently possible, sorry :(

There are notifications added yeah, you can turn them off via vBulletin Options.

I am using 4.2.2 and upgraded and running the lastest version of this mod but when enabled I still get this. Fatal error: Call to undefined function can_administer() in /home/cafeflir/public_html/usertag.php on line 33

That means the files are not uploaded correctly, you've accidentally uploaded /upload/admincp/usertag.php to your forum root folder.

Please upload the contents of the "upload" folder to your forum root folder exactly as they are (Ctrl+A then drag and drop the files over).

Mate, I'm having a lot of trouble getting this to install. I have the contents of the 'upload' folder copied over to my root directory (checked several times now) as instructed:

But every time I go to install, I get the following:

I was able to replicate my steps and get a working install on my test site, but I cannot for the life of me get it to go on the site proper.

This isn't my first mod install mate, but I am by no means well-versed. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm sure it's just a file copy thing, but I don't see why it isn't picking it up!

Are you sure you've uploaded the contents of the "upload" folder to your "public_html" folder? I'm not able to see the full view in your screenshot, so I'm forced to ask for completeness' sake.

It would be fine if dbtech copyrights were not shown in the page footer.

I mean for admins who already installed other DBtech mods it shouldnt be required to show dbtech copyright twice. I have like 4 dbtech mods and my page footer is made a mess

I installed this but for some reason whenever someone gets a mention notification it takes us to a 404 page. I'm assuming a file isn't uploaded, but I did upload everything correctly as far as I can tell. I uploaded the upload folder to the root and to public_html just to be safe, uploaded usertag folder to the DBtech folder and uploaded the XML files to the specified folder as well.

any idea how I can fix this?

2 requests:
1) Have tag point to the thread rather than to the profile tab for AUT
2) Integrate photo tagging

Please upload the contents of the "upload" folder, not the folder itself.

The XML files are not to be uploaded to your server at all.

You can find the complete instructions for how to install this mod in the "readme.txt" file :)

#1 is actually available in an internal build of AUT, and will be making its way to the public in the next update :)

When the mod is disabled, its code does not run - there's literally no way for the copyright line to be added when the mod is disabled.

Add that to the fact that we have never heard of this issue before, you may have a mod conflict.

Please try disabling all other mods.

Hi, I installed this perfectly on 4.2.0.

Where would the user get the notification if I may ask? I tagged myself in a test post but I didn't receive any notification. Is it supposed to work like that?

We ran into a really odd problem all of the sudden, not sure what happened.
If someone mentions someone with @, a semicolon automatically appears behind someones username. They still get the notification, but the name is not clickable anymore. It's just plain text.
<-- that's how it looks.

When I set this mod to require a semicolon to work, it will look like this

So no matter what, the mention tags wrapped around a username will add the ;

The only changes we've made recently were fixing BBCode in quotes. Any idea what could have happend, it worked perfect from day 1.

Which vB version are you running?

I didn't have this problem, I also did insert the BBCode into newreply, and newthread templates so people don't have to type the "@" manually. They can just click on the icon and then {mention} tags will appear. I find my way a lot easier.

And it was fine for weeks, bit since yesterday when someone uses @ or mention tags, it just adds the ; at the end of a username.
Again, the user still gets a notification but it's not clickable anymore.

And also, we have one user with a really long name. Tagging him won't work.
Is there any way to increase the maximum amount of characters?

I am an end user like yourself actually, I tried helping you but I guess the developer himself needs to respond to this. Why not quit using "@" and use the BBCode like the link that I posted to you?

I tried that, but even with mention tags it still adds the ; at the end!

We cannot control whether our customers have not updated to the latest version. The exploit you're referring to also does not work on the Lite version you're using from vB.org, because it does not contain the functionality mentioned.

The exploit was fixed the same day we were made aware of it, back in August of last year :)

In the Pro version you are able to mention usergroups :)

That being said, it's strongly not recommended to mention usergroups with more than ~10 members, for performance reasons.
