Another question for clarity on my part, should I have a separate folder for the MGC Chatbox EVO in the second choice, or apply directly to the clientscript folder.

I am having some troubles with other mods that I have downloaded, but have kept separate folders for my ease of learning. I have recently learned how to ftp our server. LOL! learning as I go.

Running fine at RC1, just one problem: I wanna disable chat in one style, the mobile style, how can i do that?

The only thing I see would be the refresh rate.

However, when a user sends a chat, the chatbox automatically refreshes.

There used to be lags in the first version of the chatbox but in the last version everything is ok.

Where there many users online ?

It should be in /public_html/clientscript/

You can't put it in another directory.

All the content of the files folder must be uploaded in the root directory "as is".

It means: with the same directory structure and content.

This needs different code editing, I am sorry I won't have the time to handle that for you.

You have certainly remove the akspam (?) mod but a bitfield xml file is still there in your includes/xml directory.

Remove it and rebuild bitfields manually.

I now need to add a new channel for resticted access. I have tried to do so but get presented with options to add a command but have no idea on what this does.

Could you run me through how to add a new channel that I can restrict access to?

I had to uninstall this because it caused a serious lag at my board. Some of my members couldn't even access the board when I had it installed. I tried changing so many different settings, but it didn't help. :(

Now I am getting a database error when I try to change Usergroup Permissions. It says "nknown column 'mgc_cb_evo_permissions' in 'field list'". I wish that when I uninstalled this product, it uninstalled completely. Now I have to try to figure out how to fix this problem I'm having.

Okay, I figured out that there were still a few files I needed to delete. You have to be very thorough if you want to install or uninstall this product. Be careful if you aren't very technical.

When you create a channel, you create or attach a command to it.

So basically, to restrict access to it, you just have to go in the commands manager and edit the command permissions :)

It's strange for the lag. Do you have a big board ? What kind of host configuration do you have ?

About product install/uninstall, reading the readme helps to achieve it correctly ;)

First off: GREAT MOD! I really like this chatbox and the flexibility is has.

Problem:
Banning doesn't work. I have fixed several of the issues with banning, but it doesn't ban a user currently until they refresh the page. They can still see/type in the box until they refresh that page.

And also, I haven't been able to fix the spelling error in the PM that is sent to a banned user (as has been mentioned before).

I am currently running 3.7.0 RC2! Which means no support from vbulletin side!

I had mgc chatbox installed and i went to upload the english language file!
In my forums default language is set to utf-8 on both english and greek(main)!

After uploading the language file following your instructions step by step...my forums got chinese!
Every greek letter appears as a question mark!

I love chatbox, but has anyone noticed any lag on loading webpages do to the ajax calls?

This is what pops up in the window when I click (Archives) and opens a new window when I click the arrow "Full page mode":

These problems are happening with all 4 of our theme styles.

If your language on your forum is utf8, you have to edit the chatbox xml language file before.

To correct your problem, you can try edit your language settings and set type to be utf8 back.

The english language file is not utf8 by default as vBulletin isn't either by default.

Can you post a link with test account so that I can see that.

Log admin action is called in the cron task. Are you sure you uploaded files in the good directories ??

I did reset everything, deleted the greek language, uploaded tools, rebuilt the english language by default, set the greek language from scratch and still the same!

Same thing happened long time ago, and the guyz from vbulletin did run a query so they could delete everything that was related to mgc chatbox on the database...could you help?

This chat heavily increased our serverload, from 2-3 to 20-25, you need to work on that.

To remove everything related to the chatbox you can uninstall it, this should do it no ?

If it doesn't work I'll see if I can help you live.

And this is not very constructive unless you tell me what is your server configuration and which option you have activated.

This always is a question of configuration, setting too much functionnalities on is not server savy so this could be a reason.

After installing this product including the English language I observed one phrase that was in what I believe to be French. I had enabled the prompt message and the term "Entrez Votre Chat >>" was being displayed in the box even though I had installed the English language. I searched phrases for that phrase and could not find it so I examined the installer "product-mgc_cb-evo.xml" file and discovered that is the default value for the prompt when everything else is in English. I edited the xml file and changed that to "Enter Your Chat >>", uninstalled the previous installation and reinstalled fresh and that fixed the issue. You may want to change it in the installer, you may not, that's up to you. I just thought I would share this info.

By the way, thanks for sharing this great shoutbox. It is by far my favorite of all the shoutboxes that are available.

Seems like files on your forum are all with the php5 extension ?

The only way will be to edit all chatbox files to replace .php extension by .php5.

There appears to be a slight bug.

I have more than 1 channel.

When I go into the archives and select the shouts I want to view from the second channel.

I can see the first page of chats ok, however when I go to view the second page it as reverted back to showing the second page of the general channel.

so how do I get the channel_id=1 to appear in the url when I switch to the second page?

It works fine if I manually insert the channel_id=1 into the url to view the 2nd page.

NO ! The method you explained is wrong.

This is an option so no need to remove the chatbox replace in the xml and install back !

You just have to change that text in an option of the admincp.

Hum. Uninstalling the chatbox will have removed everything related to the chatbox so last time the jelsoft team must have done more than that !

Have you tried changing back to utf8 your language ?

This bug was present in an earlier version of the chatbox. Are you using 1.5 ?

Is there a way to have the chatbox collasped when first logging into forum. As of now it is opened when you first enter forum

I am using the 0.3.0 for 3.7.0 and I also had the same bug in the 1.5 version for 3.6.x

Installed it together with the vBadvanced module in less then 10 minutes.

Ok problem solved with the language!

Now that i have uninstalled mgc chatbox i went throught my database and have seen 4 tables of the product!
Why didnt they go away by uninstalling, is there something else i have to do?
