Hi,
" If you do NOT have TMS installed, apply the 7 Template Edits listed below. "
What does TMS stand for? I am trying to install but can't understand what that stands for.

Darkwaltz4 09-01-2007 07:03 PM

If you dont know what TMS stands for, you probably arent using TMS, so make the template edits manually. It wont hurt your forum if you had it installed and still made the edits manually.

haytham 09-01-2007 07:23 PM

How do I explain to my members what they can do with vbcredit? Anyone make like a file or thread to show their members how to use it?
I installed it on 3.6.8 with no template edits. It was pretty easy. Thanks

Darkwaltz4 09-01-2007 07:27 PM

there is a list at the top post which includes various third party hacks you can use it with. im also making two huge addons for it as well :-p or check out vbcredits.com for some extra stuff and premium addons not listed here.

haytham 09-01-2007 07:39 PM

Ok man thanks. So the template edits aren't essential right? Ok one more dumb question ( on my side) where can I get this " quiz" mod that you have in your addon folder? Thanks.

Sorry forgot...on your forum I saw a message saying something like " you need -- credits to see this post" so how can I do that? What good is the credit if the members can't use them ..right?

Darkwaltz4 09-01-2007 07:44 PM

ummm, the template edits are VERY important. if you have TMS they get installed automatically, otherwise you have to do it manually - either way those template edits need to be done or nobody will see anything.

the vbcredits hide hack is a premium addon, look on vbcredits.com for where and how to get it. the quiz hack can be found here on vborg

haytham 09-01-2007 08:07 PM

Yeah the only time the word credit shows up is if a user posts anything or replies. I tried editing the templates but for ex. couldn't find what I was supposed to in the navbar bec. it's not the default style. I'll try again tomorrow. It's late where I am now. Thanks for your help. Great mod.

Derek Chai 09-02-2007 12:59 AM

Im getting error when trying to post a topic and i refresh and its ok

Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /home/collide/public_html/vbulletin/newthread.php(71) : eval()'d code

and on the top

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/collide/public_html/vbulletin/newthread.php(71) : eval()'d code on line 38

Darkwaltz4 09-02-2007 01:36 AM

Sorry, but my hack isnt the cause of your errors. Look in your plugin manager for a plugin using the newthread_start hook - that would be the culprit. (none of vbcredits' plugins use that hook)

Derek Chai 09-02-2007 02:07 AM

Thanks for the help i found out the mod.

I would like to use vbCredits now for the vboookie, I used to use vCash so everyone has some vCash and are just starting to build up vCredits, is there a way to tyransfer all their vCash to the credits table so both totals are combined? Then I will switch the vBookie from using vCash to us credits only?

Any help would be great on this.

Cheers.

PS, I have tried using credits with vbookie and it works but of course until I find a way to transfer their current vCash totals it doesnt make sense to use credits on vBookie, they wouldnt be happy campers losing all the vCash they have so far earned.

wsdeluxe 09-02-2007 03:17 PM

Nice mod :)

Although one request (dont worry....its an easy one :p)

PayPal integration (for buying & selling credits).

well, i have a converter for it which i am releasing with 1.4, unless you are comfortable with running queries, you can run this:

Code:

UPDATE user SET credits = vbookie_cash

there is already an addon for this, available on vbcredits.com

Just so I understand, what will this query do exactly?

I have ran queries before, so no problem running it, just need to know what it will do.

Cheers again.

Darkwaltz4 09-02-2007 07:43 PM

its a quick way to set everyone's credits to their vbookie cash values, so you can then apply the vbookie/vbcredits addon

Worked a treat, thanks for that!!

:)

Hi Darkwaltz4,

really great mod and I am glad that you won award Mod Of The Month, congratulations!

I am waiting for version 1.4 (like others), but until then I have one question for you. The Transaction Log is always showing data corresponding only to the one particular user. What about new page as an option, where would be data corresponding to transaction logs for all users (only who received some, of course)?

In case of our forum (to be accurate, in case of our way of using vBCredits) there are only few new data for one week that are belonging to the transaction logs (and they are only points from admin, donations from users are not possible), so it would be great to have all transaction's data in one page for all users (only who received points) for summary and verification (and without some unbearable load to the server).

What do you think? It would be great... well, at least for me in my case :-). As far as I know there is no option like this in version 1.3 and I am not familiar with version 1.4.

Darkwaltz4 09-03-2007 01:41 AM

i have no real plan to do that, maybe for 1.5. you should see the changes for that in 1.4, you might change your mind.

Vesica 09-03-2007 04:08 AM

Addon: Point Rewards for Signature of the Week Mods. Both of them for people using both.

Matty.B 09-03-2007 06:13 AM

Great stuff! Loving it! Thanks heaps for a great mod!

hi Darkwaltz4,
It would be nice if you have some comments at the end of the credit post so other posters will see that it's a good or bad post.

Yes, set money row to 'credits' in the IShop settings.

This does not work for me. I have installed the new Ishop and have had vbcredits working for a bit.. and changing the money row does nothing for me. :( Any idea how I can have my users buy these items with their credits??

Thanks!

Darkwaltz4 09-03-2007 10:12 PM

are you sure you are editing the IShop settings and NOT ICash? (you wont even need ICash installed)

OK, I will wait until the 1.4 will appear.

But I have another request/question. Data in transaction logs are unchangeable - this is correct in principle (becouse they are representing all non-standard actions from another users). But as I wrote earlier, I am using this function (adding credits only by myself) only a few times per week and it is really important to be lucid (to other users especially). So in the case I assign some points to someone by mistake (and there is always some mistake from human element sometimes), I have to remove these points by the same method (there is no transaction fee, fortunately). So in the transaction log will be record of both actions and there is no chance to remove them or at least to change the comment (if the comment would be editable, it would be really great). And there could be some other reasons to edit comment - for example to type more detail note over time or to correct grammar mistakes.

Perhaps it is possible in version 1.4 already, I don't know.

Positive. I don't have Icash installed at all and have it all with VBcredits.

1.4 introduces moderation for donations and post awards (and loans and savings deposits...) which include the ability to deny / reverse any of them via the ACP. there is also a marking system to indicate which posts have been awarded (turn offable of course) kind of like the post thanks hack, but expanding what the post award system does already. the post award system is completely expanded from 1.3

as for ishop, check your settings that they match mine. im using the latest versions of vbcredits and ishop available here on vborg (although if credits dont show up in the navbar its 1.4 code :-p). The settings is ALL i did to get it to use the credits.

PinkDaisy 09-03-2007 11:56 PM

Thanks. I'm just a dummy. It would have helped if I had enough credits to spend so I could test it! LOL

i just finished redoing the thread / post awards - so that it removes everything you gained when the post is deleted, merged, or moderated, and returned when the post is undeleted, approved, or copied. i am making sure this is absolutely perfect. all thats left is to update the interface for the bank and lottery (theyve changed a ton) but this should go quickly because its all my code and not vb integrations. i think at most two more days of me working at the speed ive been to put up a beta, and while thats going on ill clean up the acp and put in admin help and so on.

some stats for the impatient:
24 total DIFFERENT ways to earn credits. 13 of which can be "reversed" (that is, undone and you lose the credits you gained from it), and 12 that can be overridden on a per-forum basis (indivually mind you - see screenshot from earlier). also note that i got rid of a couple award types because they were "negations" in favor of the new system i have, so 10 are truly new. also in 1.3, only 1 was reversed and there were 3 that were negation awards. anyway, these are all *DONE* and functional http://www.vbcredits.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif which was the hardest part of the system (as a points script, naturally) just the bells and whistles being upgraded :-p (bank, lottery, post award system, donations). also 23 options on the first page of options alone http://www.vbcredits.com/forum/image...es/biggrin.gif (still cleaning up the other two pages)

will have more screenshots as i finish sections throughout the day, posted at vbcredits.com

habasabi 09-06-2007 07:45 PM

You're doing great Dark! I can't wait to see the finished products!

1.4 will work with vBulletin 4.0.0 ! :D

Ohiosweetheart 09-07-2007 01:00 PM

This looks really great. A nice alternative - or replacement shall we say - to vBux.
However I really have no use for it until the vBCommerce is released, so I'm holding off installing it for now.
