The MEMBERINFO template has to be edited. Just follow the directions and you should be fine. This mod is a little tedious, but it's worth it.

What you will need: Below you will find the links to the hacks you will need to download and install. I STRONGLY RECCOMEND that you make ALL modifications to a "test style" first. If you do not have one, create one.

Im a noob at this, but exactly how does one go about doing this?

They go with the myspace to make it more enhance, not required
Just click on the links and install which ever you want

Or better yet how would I go about making a test site?

Let me rephrase my question.

Let me rephrase my question.

Just make a new style and test the template out on that style

Scribbller 12-16-2006 07:38 PM

I have a few questions

Will this work with 3.6.x?

Can this work without vbjournal? I dont have vbjournal installed and neither do I want that instead I am going with vbloggetin so will this work without vbjournal?

What do people use for comments system?

vonedaddy 12-21-2006 02:40 PM

I love this, can it be made so that the rewrite url goes to domain.com/username instead of domain.com/forums/username ??

Also whats up with the comment system? I tried searching and it looks like it is no longer available?

Previously free. You can pay someone to install it though.

Which hack is for the comments section?

Ev!L ErN!E 01-05-2007 02:28 AM

So this is working for people using 3.6.2? or higher?
I would also like the comments sytem for this.

What mods are "needed" for this, and which can be left out?

No mods are needed for this, those that he listed were all optional

Comment system is custom

Shazz 01-05-2007 02:31 AM

I use this on 3.6.4

see an example here

Immortal_Shades 01-05-2007 05:57 PM

Is there anyway we can add an editor box into the about me section?
It would make it easier for people who are not familiar with BBCodes to edit their profiles.

Also what are you using for the media code?
I have been editing my memberinfo page since last night and I love what alot ofyou did with yours. Much props to all the hardwork from the coders and the users!

Thank You Stangsta for installing my comments Hack!!!

discywow 01-09-2007 05:22 PM

Thank you

criscokid 01-11-2007 03:48 PM

What code would I add to this bit of code so that a profile field would not show up on the 'member info template' if the field has been left blank?

Code:

<tr class="alt2">
        <td align="left" valign="top"> <div align="left"><span class=""><strong>Orientation:</strong></span></div></td>
        <td style="">$userinfo[field14]</td>
        </tr>

Wordplay 01-11-2007 05:12 PM

people have really stopped being helpful around here...

just a simple:

if condition="$userinfo[fieldX]"

/if

with the < >

Code:

<if condition="$userinfo[field14]">
<tr class="alt2">
        <td align="left" valign="top"> <div align="left"><span class=""><strong>Orientation:</strong></span></div></td>
        <td style="">$userinfo[field14]</td>
        </tr>
</if>

Thanks Wordplay :) basically the 'if condition' you wrote is checking to see if the fields is empty or not - I've seen that so many times before but it's never really 'clicked'. Cheers mate!

What would my condition be if I also wanted to not have the field show if the content of the field is 'rather not say'?

Sorry to be dumb but if i started from scratch and installed each of the required plugins / addons required for this to work on my fresh VB3.6 forum, would it all work correctly or is it meant for 3.5 only?

How do you get rid of the REQUIRED subject line in the comments? It's really annoying :p

Would have to edit the plugin itself taking the whole subject part out, or somehow using <if condition lines on subject part

Im thinking about doing this on my own comment space site :)
