Hmmm, is obvious it will not work. You set the wrong path.
Try [high]$adminpath = 'forum/admin'[/high], it will work. In other words, you did not searched the thread. ;)
Orelse you would it see the answer...

i'm sure its obvious to everyone but me, but this is what global.php looks like now

$adminpath = 'forum/admin';

and it still doesn't work....

It does if you use the right URL.

Hey, it was working fine, why did you change the $adminpath again??
Leave the $adminpath as:
$adminpath = 'forum/admin';
