TECK 12-14-2002 01:37 AM

I, personally give support here only when I have time. The script is designed to work without any problems if you follow at letter the instructions in the readme file.
I have no time to play games. If you don't bother to read the first post entirely and you don't search this thread, there is nothing I can do more. I'm not going to repeat myself every time people ask the same questions here in the thread.

About your graphics, simply make them or contact a graphic designer to make one for you, is really easy.

Now, you guys expect me to do everything for you. There is no support I offer to nobody here at vBulletin.org, is my right to do this. I stated this several times. Is also written in HUGE letters in the first post what to do to get your script working fine.
Firefly installed a search options for long threads, why can't you use it???
There are over 400 users that use this script I bet at least one can help you answer your questions.

And about the support forum, is a privilege to obtain access to them. Is stated clearly what you need to do.
If I would not open those forums what would you do?? You would ask here your questions.

1. READ FIRST POST
2. SEARCH THE THREAD
3. WANT MORE? COMPLY WITH THE RULES, LIKE OTHER MEMBERS, TO OBTAIN ACCESS.

Is that so hard to understand?

Can you read entiery (EVERY WORD) the first post? Then you would post those kind of remarks.
BTW, nobody is forcing you to install my script. Feel free to use other copycats available here (with terrible code and bad queries, not to mention that they copied most of my technique) or hire a programmer to make one for you.

Games? I have a family and bills to pay, I don't have time to argue with immature people.

how about a yes or no, I don't understand what you are up to, you want us to use your board, I want to, but I need some changes (like the button I asked about above) before I can, you tell us to use this forum for support, yet you don't answer the support questions (such as the one above) whats up, whats your game, you have a good product but I'm not sure you are worth the time.

TECK spends hours making a script which he releases for FREE, then spend hours supporting it here for FREE, and you are upset because he won't tell you how to make a BUTTON?

lost myself 12-14-2002 02:25 AM

No I'm not upset about him not telling me how to make a button (that was an example).

Nor am I upset about him not giving direct support.

And I don't appreciate the FREE game. I would, will and have gladly paid for a product or a service that would help me or improve my board. (when I started using VB I had to pay someone to install my board, since that time I have learned how to do that myself)

I don't know how to do alot of this stuff, for example I am not sure of where to locate the the darn button in all the template script. There appears to be an answer on the support forum but I can't access it because I won't use the product until I can fix this problem so it appears we are at an impass. It seems to me He wants me to screw up my board so he can boast his program is being used, then I can look at his board to figure out how to install a button he should have written into the code anyway. Dude's got power issues.

As far as support goes he witholds support for his board, by limiting access. I am (probably was after all this) a legitimate possible user and the easiest way for me to get what I need, and figure out what I need is to see what the other uses are doing. But too bad for me I can't.

As for all the CAPS I can read, have read and JUST LIKE YOU I FEEL I HAVE A LEGITIMATE CONCERN. Big deal, you proably feel like you are talking to a wall -- which is exactly the way it feels talking to you.

So why don't you ask here? Like other over 2000 people who posted? Then you can comment that nobody help you and you hit yourself to me as wall.
The buttons are all located in home_header template, under Home Page Templates.
Ask pertinent questions and soon you will change your oppinion about me, as many others did, because I do help people, more then you can think.

Teck has been extremely helpful to all. He has personally spent many hours helping me, when others wouldn't. It's his time. We can't expect or demand support. He offers it, as an extra perk. If you have problems, take your time. Read, read, and read some more, and you will understand how it should be. Search this thread. I know its huge, but it's all here, every single damn problem you could have, its been answered over and over again.

If you want others to do it for you, then maybe hacking isn't for you. Only if you have a problem that hasn't been addressed here, then I would say you have a legit beef. But, that just ain't the case. :)

Thanks, I'm trying but I don't always know what the question to ask is. Thats why I read.

I'm sorry bad night last night mea culpa :nervous:

kikosho 12-14-2002 10:07 PM

TECK, can you tell me why the characters within the article aren't showing? Previously I had a news/front-end hack set up. Is this possibly interfering with it? I don't think it would because the front end works off an entirely seperate file.

petertdavis 12-15-2002 04:35 AM

I'm trying to install your script on a virgin forum, and am getting an error

when I try to view the index.php page. Am I missing something obvious? This is vBulletin v 2.2.9

I'd ask for access to your forums, but I don't know how to comply with your licensing if I can't get the index.php to work. :(
