pumarjr 05-17-2006 03:12 PM

Ok, i can't even seem to get started, do i first need to dl and install the flash chat b4 i can use this mod?

Paul M 05-17-2006 07:07 PM

Yes - this will be of no use to you if you don't have Flashchat installed.

pumarjr 05-17-2006 07:22 PM

is there a way to put a button in the navbar linking them to the flashchact that i just installed, i also just put the flashchat intergration in

EasyTarget 05-18-2006 04:44 AM

<a href="http://www.tufat.com/docs/flashchat/vbulletin.html" target="_blank">http://www.tufat.com/docs/flashchat/vbulletin.html</a>

that's for vbulletin 3.0 so it won't look exactly the same.

pumarjr 05-18-2006 04:47 AM

i do that after i add that other intergration hack?

EasyTarget 05-18-2006 05:26 AM

well you can do it before or after, but you won't be able to use the chat program if you haven't installed it yet. This hack integrates flashchat into vbulletin, it isn't the chat program itself.

pumarjr 05-18-2006 12:51 PM

i understant that, that only hack that i have installed for the flash chat is Flashchat Integration for vB 3.5 , so now just follow your instructions and that's it?

rinkrat 05-18-2006 04:04 PM

'users' => array( 2,21,24 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed standard access to chat.
'mods' => array( 5,7 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as chat moderators.
'admin' => array( 6 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as chat administrators.
'banned' => array( 17,18 ) , // vBulletin usergroups banned from accessing the chat.
'customer' => array( 0 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as customers (Live support mode only).

I can't figure why only my moderators can get in when I have several other groups set as "users" who are being denied.

Answer: I had the open chat on VB page hack and you set the permissions in the VB Options settings, D'oh!

southernlady 05-20-2006 04:02 PM

Paul, mine is working fine...and I usually go by the *if it ain't broke, don't fix it* method. If I try and upgrade here, I'm about 99% positive, *I'LL* break it and you'll have to bail me out again. Any reason for me to fix this right now? Mine is the March 21st version. Liz

Paul M 05-20-2006 04:33 PM

What version number is it ?

southernlady 05-20-2006 04:37 PM

Paul, it's version # 2.56 Liz

Paul M 05-20-2006 06:06 PM

Yes, you should upgrade, esp the CMS file.

southernlady 05-20-2006 06:14 PM

Paul! You know I tend to break it..Okay, I'll give it a whirl but are you gonna be around the next few hours? Liz

southernlady 05-20-2006 07:13 PM

Paul, I DID it. I DID it. Liz

Paul M 05-22-2006 12:13 AM

Are you sure you are in the right thread ?

There is no chdir() in this, nor does it interact with your forum 'skin'.

JimmyN 05-22-2006 12:25 AM

Asa far as i know there is:
flashchat.php

Are you abill to help me with it?
thanks

is there any hack to allow a link to an irc channel ?

b6gm6n 05-26-2006 01:29 AM

Hi.. all working... checked & verified...great stuff!... now the bad bit... the really annoying arse of a bit... the bit that makes you wanna grind your teeth and get nasty with cute fluffy things.... that is : why did you leave the install instructions at step 5?... its like.... everything is installed... product uploaded, usergroups checked and.........? - Step 6...wheres that?... have i missed something?... let me clarify... now i assume the plugin is for WOL locations... i thought it may... like.... erm.... place a link somewhere on my forum home template or navbar...something like an actual link to the flashchat.php? - i got a nice link for the ACP to the FC admin... brilliant.... so whats missing?... i've searched high & low on my forums for a 'Chat' or a 'Chatroom' link.....is it in the footer? NO... the navbar? NO... the header maybe...? NO! - is there anything in your instructions about placing a link to the script? NO... what about the first or second post of this thread? no...?... come on... you gotta be joking... i assume somewhere in this 58 pages there is some info...but anything i search for brings in a huge amount of threads... when it should have been there in the first place...

yes i do know how to insert a link to this in the navbar...but thats not the point... i suppose this mod makes the FC screen appear in some nice template with the forum header and footer right?... any info? noooooo... ok i'll have a look again... but mary munkey jesus... im tripping or you need to sort that simple thing out dude really.... sorry for sounding an arse... but it's bloody annoying...

b6gm6n 05-26-2006 01:55 AM

i bought flashchat on the priviso that this integration was great.... now im stuck wondering...why on earth did you remove those linking instructions.... you don't mind me asking do you?

and is it possible to show the forums header & footer or navbar? i know it'll squidge the flash...but hey

EDIT : found the header/footer mod

-b6

b6gm6n 05-26-2006 12:42 PM

ok...i give up... i hereby humbley submit to the coder and ask for forgiveness... great integration i looked for and great integration i got... besides the missing instructions to add a link to 'flashchat.php'... so i come forth with cap in hand the penitant sinner and ask..... please may i have the code to achieve my goal... appropo ... the link to the flashchat script......please!

Paul M 05-26-2006 06:53 PM

anyways im using the header/navbar/footer vB page mod with this and thats ok...i'll simply create a link where ever i need later on...

But as i say i think the instructions stopped short.... :D

JimmyN 05-26-2006 08:52 PM

JimmyN 05-28-2006 07:02 AM

Eric 05-29-2006 03:57 AM

Has anyone been able to get additional icons for paticular usergroups working yet?

I have a VIP icon for developers who post on our forums, but i can't for the life of me, get that icon to show up on the chat program
The support forums at flashchat don't appear to want to explain how to do it

kpr 06-11-2006 10:06 AM

Does this look correct i have loads of custom usergroups and we cant access the flashchatroom here is cms file ive eddited

Code:

'users' => array( 2,9 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed standard access to chat.
        'mods' => array( 5,7 , 39, 35, 31, 25, 28, 34, 27 ,26, 29, 24, 37, 36, 38 ,30) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as chat moderators.
        'admin' => array( 6, 39, 35, 31, 25, 28, 34, 27 ,26, 29, 24, 37, 36, 38 ,30 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as chat administrators.
'banned' => array( 1,8 ) , // vBulletin usergroups banned from accessing the chat.
'customer' => array( 0 ) , // vBulletin usergroups allowed access as customers (Live support mode only).
);

thanks

EDIT: nvmd.

dwbro1 06-13-2006 10:07 PM

I have one question and one problem.

I'm looking at hosting a pretty large chat session and before I go to far into it I wanted to get an idea of how many users can flash chat support at once. I seem to remember reading somewhere about ppl complaining that when they get more than 20 folks it crashes. I may be mistaken here but wanted to ask anyway.

Second is I'm having a problem moderating folks in chat that have a space in their login name. Do I have to use the %20 when typing their name if it has a space or is this easily resolvable another way?

Paul M 06-13-2006 10:22 PM

Both those questions are related to Flashchat, not vb integration or this hack, you need to visit the Tufat forums. :)

....... if you have questions about Flashchat in general, their forums are here.

StuntFactoryX 06-17-2006 04:59 AM

i havent read every page but skimmed. im very new so bare w/ me. i am interested in embeding the flash chat on my forum page. i found the link in here refering me to sombody elses hack to do this. but that hack says it works in conjunction w/ this hack? but my confussion is i have a new version of flashchat where you say now most of this hack is intergrated in the new flashchat. is this hack nessasary to get the embedded hack to work?

sorry if im wasting your time or its a stupid question.

Paul M 06-17-2006 05:08 AM

It's a long while since I looked at noppids hack, but afaik, you don't need what's left of this now to use it - the main integration is now part of what flashchat supplies - what's left here now is just a slightly newer CMS file and the WOL plugin.
