www.techtir.ie Click on Articles on left or Forums on bar.

Article section in Forums.
(The Portal is done in Wordpress with custom PHP replacing blog post content, so blog contents upgrade via RSS).

I hid the redirector. :)

Made Category and then subforums
Then changed property of category to unlist it.
Then a second set of matching forums to the result of the redirector.

The inline attachments can be fullsize with an Admincp setting
see http://www.techtir.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=1459

I really like this mod. Especially since now no-one ever sees the Redirector.

Thank for this great plugin! It looks awesome.
One question though, I want to sort the articles based on the avgrating!
How can I do that? When I assign this sort order in the forum properties in the admincp and tell article forums to use the default sort option, it's still not sorting based on the avg rating.

I hope that anybody can help me here!

:(

Ah, well, it looked like such a great modification, too. I wonder if there are similar enough alternatives...

If you do wish to try installing v1.9 on your forum you will need to remove the following line from product file
HTML Code:

                <dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.8.0" maxversion="" />

Oh, didn't see this. I should have searched first. I'll give the modification a try.

Tanapangarap 11-03-2009 05:02 PM

This works fine on 3.7. Thanks.

great mod :)

does anyone know how to get the 'notices' working with this?

gnrx 11-08-2009 01:43 AM

Hi.
I used this mod since a months, all works fine, but I have a doubt if its possible change display options.
When I go to my articles (articles.php) in this screen appears: In the left column the categories (subforums), search, pot new article...
In the right column appears: top authors, top reads...
In the middle column appears the last articles.

Well, this is that I want changed.

I want that, when I go to articles, in the middle column appears only the index of categories/subcategories, and not appears the last articles, and when click in any categories/subcategories appears the articles.

Is this possible?

Thanks and regards!

Medtech 11-08-2009 04:33 AM

I would like to see a multiple forum selection instead of only one. I have several news sections that i would like to use this mod with.

Will you be upgrading this to VB 4 compatible?

If so, when do you expect it to be upgraded?

MagicThemeParks 12-07-2009 10:20 AM

"Asking coders/designers about vBulletin 4.0 and their releases.

Asking them to upgrade their work while vBulletin 4.0 is still in Beta, and probably before the production version of vBulletin 4.0 has been released for some time, only annoys people and will probably not make them release their work on vBulletin 4.0 any sooner. We therefor request not to ask such questions for now in the 3.x release forums. Please keep an eye on the 4.0 release forums to see if a modfication or style is available on vBulletin 4.0."

I have it working very nicely here:
http://cellphoneforums.net/cell-phone-reviews/

There was a bit of customization of the templates to get it to display this way.

Is it possible to change the original name "Article" to something else? Lets say "Links"? So that it will say...Search Links.....Show Links...Post new Link? I will really appreciate any help on this!!

Thanks!!

tpearl5 12-22-2009 12:39 PM

I would like to use af_firstpost for threads that use the prefix, in my case, 'news'. Does anyone have any insight on how this could be done?

I tired that. It didn't work. Anyone else know how to stop the 'redirect' behavior?

Not really. Why are you wanting it changed? Maybe there's another way to achieve the same result.

Only because I have members complaining that the back button doesn't work.

Chrome users maybe? That isn't going to happen on all browsers. It will work, but they have to hit it more than once, or open the history.

Gator Bite 01-13-2010 11:31 AM

I'd also like to see the moderation options in the articles. Stuff like, 'Move, Delete, Merge, etc...'

Is it possible to hide extra profile fields from the postbit? Flags, gender, and other extra are still showing up.

Edit: Never mind, I got it! :)

If anybody is curious, I just used this <if condition="$post['fieldx'] AND !in_array($thread['forumid'],array(y))">

x=profile field id, and y= forum id you want to hide it in.

mgcom 02-14-2010 07:40 PM
