I'm afraid not - and I have drunk so much coffee whilst trying to get it working that I have given myself heart palpitations.

I also managed to type the above sentence in record time!
:erm:

bojan.vasiljev 01-11-2009 11:12 PM

I have seen it in action once before and that is why I am so confused.

Maybe music_legend did solve it????

ok i fixed that problem it was a human mistake :D ie ME lol

also i get this as well in the register templates part
Code:

Warning: fopen(http://api.facebook.com/restserver.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! in [path]/includes/facebook/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 2487

this was the same error i had before.

- first if you're the administrator of your forum, go to your admin panel, maintenance, and view php info.
- Look for the Configuration PHP Core, and check whether : allow_url_fopen is : on, and same goes for : allow_url_include. Both should be "on" .

Then try to re-register the default templates :)

dxlwebs 01-12-2009 04:07 AM

thanks for your reply i have done the changes and nowi get this error
Code:

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.
any ideas what it does that

dxlwebs 01-12-2009 08:38 AM

Have you uploaded xd_receiver.htm to your forum root?

I've gone over the template edits THREE TIMES and everything is fine and I've also tried removing javascripts from my HEADINCLUDE file one at a time to see if there are any conflicts - however, whatever I do, it won't come up with the popup window.

Can someone help here? I'm tearing my hair out!

what is the forum url?

i installed the app and it all seems to be ok but i'm not seeing any facebook wall notifications when i post. also, is there somewhere in my profile that shows facebook?

jlew24asu 01-13-2009 09:58 AM

so any people that sign up using facebook have no email on file and can not be contacted with Newsletters for example. is there anyway for the app to require a real email?

Well, easy way is to look on the admincp homepage - says it right in there...

Assuming you hooked your account up to facebook, you should see a popup when you post a new thread or reply saying "Publish this story to your Facebook profile?".

The message will just be sent to their facebook inbox - I don't imagine html will display correctly if you have any in your newsletter.

Actually it gets sent to the email address they have on store in Facebook if they allow the email options. It just goes by a facebook proxy to mask the address. HTML should work fine

AMUforums 01-13-2009 04:25 PM

I read all 58 pages. I have gone over all the steps three times.

My URL is www.amuforums.com
I have PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.67-log.
vBulletin 3.8.0, and vBadvanced CMPS v3.1.0.

The facebook button doesn't show. Any idea what might be the problem?

EDIT:
I am reverting my whole forum to two days ago before I installed this and vbadvanced CMPS, and I will give it another shot from scratch before installing vbadvanced.

EDIT #2:
Reverting failed miserably. I am going to start with a fresh install of 3.8.0
Updates will follow.

EDIT #3:
I started fresh. The button is visible, but not working. The link as it appears is: http://amuforums.com/index.php#

EDIT #4:
Complete success. I changed the callback URL from HTTP://www.amuforums.com/xd_receiver.htm to HTTP://amuforums.com.
Tested in Firefox, and Internet Explorer, with flawless results. I also tested the login with a test facebook account, worked PERFECTLY. This is a great app, probably the single most powerful I have seen on vb.org.

EDIT #5:
I will now try to install vbadvanced CMPS. More updates will follow.

Mum 01-13-2009 07:01 PM

When i install this i get
Code:

Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/mummybra/public_html/imperfectlyrealparents.com/includes/functions.php(5723) : eval()'d code on line 9
at the top of my forums

Sounds like you made an error while copying and pasting.

AMUforums 01-14-2009 12:13 AM

UPDATE:
I started from scratch, with 3.8.0. I installed the facebook connect, it worked perfectly. I then installed vbadvanced CMPS, and it continued to work perfectly.

I think I may be getting one of those errors that are spoken a lot through these 58 pages, but it does not affect the functionality.

JasonGreen 01-14-2009 01:27 AM

I installed and modified all templates. When clicking the icon "connect with facebook", the href is just a # and nothing happens.

[fixed]

Changed my callback from http://www.domain.com/support to http://domain.com

It's the callback URL in the facebook app.

What is your callback URL?

I really want to install this mod.
But alas, after seeing all the dramas associated with it i am hesitant to do it.

Has anyone actually installed this mod trouble free and is using it without any problems?

I installed this, and vbadnvanced CMPS, and the functionality is all there, no problems at all.
I am just looking out for more features being added this now.
