Hello and thanks for this GREAT module ..
I've got 2 issues trying to use with local content.

1 -I want to know if it's possible to embed a .flv video file I have upload to my server ... is that possible ?
2- How to do when my VB is in a subdirectory (http://www.mysite.com/forum/).. is there something to change in the media definition code ?

YouTube changed the way they handle HD. My definition was designed to handle the old &fm=22 string at the end of the URL. They no longer use that, they use &hd=1, which has presented a problem for me in designing a new one.

Right now, no, I only have .SWF support, but I'm looking into making .FLV support for a future update.

As I explain in the description, you use nothing but your site name. In your example website there, you would only change the part in all caps to mysite and nothing else.

As I explained the in mod description, the Master is for people starting new or starting over. The ZIP file is for people wanting to pick and choose which sites they will use. For updates, you just replace the ones I release as I release them.

If it's been a long time since you've updated, and you don't really know what you've missed, or you've missed a whole bunch, then you can always just delete everything and start with a the fresh Master. Although, I should point out, I haven't updated the Master XML yet.

It was the master. They worked individually.


I am having problems with the photobucket though (using your update from 9/16). It is showing the embed box, but no video or controls. The video type is a .flv if it makes a difference.

Yes, as I said, the Master has been causing this problem for some folks since a previous AME update. I'll have to go through them one at a time to find the problem.

I only want to ask when do you think this product could be accept .flv
I will begin to encode my videos and all the process depends on that crucial element. If there's no update coming soon (what I perfectly understood) I will begin to encode my files in .rm waiting for .flv

Yea it's been a while I didn't touch this hack, so I'll just wait till the Master file is updated. Thanks a lot for everything.

I've been going through each definition trying to troubleshoot each one for 2.5. I won't be able to release a Master for a while, but I will be releasing any updates I make to the existing defs as I go, as I think they are needed.

When? Well, pretty much, when I get around to it. I don't really know when. I'm trying to get a few other things taken care of before I tacked the Local Hosted again. Quite a bit I'm behind on, and I'm trying to put certain things on the front burner. I just don't know how long that will take.

***UPDATES***

I have a couple of updates for folks running Amazon and AllPoster links on their forum. Continuing to separate the wheat form the chaff, I've had to drop the Amazon (aStore) definition, as AME simply isn't scanning the pages content for it to be usable. However, I have made a significant update to the Thumbnail definitions, as I was getting tired of seeing products with no image. I've done extensive testing of this one, and you should hard pressed to find a product on either site that doesn't pull an image of some kind. That includes Amazon, which used to never pull images for MP3 downloads, most clothing and jewlery and random items added by users. It should[U] pull everything now, and if it doesn't, please let me know.

In addition, AllPosters (Search Results) and (Browse) aren't really necessary anymore, but I'm keeping them, and updating them, in the event you have old links on your forum that you don't want "un"converting.

Just delete the one(s) you are replacing. Definitions do not overwrite. The Master is for people starting new or starting over.

Since upgrading I've been experiencing problems w/ Photobucket videos. It appears as though it's using the embedd code so there are 2 squares for the video. The top square is empty and the bottom is the video.

Sounds to me like you have two Photobucket definitions.

Looks like gametrailers def no longer works fine. Now most urls there have game name in url like:

Same foe user movies:

and current definitions don’t handle it well :( looks like it need to be updated. Since it only support urls like:

I was trying to fix in my self but I’m not to well with Regular Expressions :(

not sure if this was mentioned before but when my users try to use the embed code from a site, it gets all screwed up. The video will display but there's text to the left and right, since this mod extracts the URL (which is in the middle of the embed code).

any way to modify the code to disregard URLs when embed codes are used?

No, as one of the ideas behind AME is to be a solution to having to use embed code on your forum. And if AME matches the URLs in the embed code, it will try to replace it. The only way around that is to tell your users to turn AME off when using embed code.

There seams to be two types off urls there
This one for example works

I had an AME 1.2 plugin and yesterday updated to 2.5, imported new AME 2.5 Master definitions, and old blip.tv video works, but it's not possible to post a new ones, because of the blank newreply.php page then posting..
