Are you going to be supporting vbulletin 3.8?

ayasystems 11-29-2008 01:45 PM

I've installed it on my site www.fororadares.es

At first thanks for your work

I've installed vBadavanced Plugin and it's works fine in news but recentthreads shows old url format. Are you thinking about it?

How I can delete very common word like 'que,lo,la,es,como,tu...' in new url format?

Best regards from spain

You've got root access? In most cases you will need to enable mod_rewrite first.
Use a search engine for more details.

The .htaccess itself is the same for rootserver, shared server and simple webspace.

seems great

There is a version available for vBulletin 3.8?

LoRdGd 12-06-2008 08:03 PM

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/4...5681kk1.th.jpg
there was a link to first unreaded post. Now its always going to the start of thread.

How to fix this?

Help... BUG WITH VBCMPS...

Jeff, I am using VBCMPS on my home page. When I use recent threads module below the news module, along with TFSEO the whole page breaks up. The Recent threads heading repeats 5-6 times. I am attaching a screenshot, since I had to put the settings off from the live site. Please help. I am in deep mess. I cannot afford to remove TFSEO at this point because all my re-written URL's are indexed by google. Also I need to use the recent threads module. Please help... will appreciate it!

Regards,
Sadik

paketeto 12-08-2008 07:41 PM

I have done a TFSEO sitemap generator for google.
It writes correctly the new urls, look here:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=198369

Sadikb 12-10-2008 02:55 PM

hi JEFF is this plugin still supported? If not please say so. I have to consider uninstalling it then.

I have your mod running on my 3.8 and all is well, but i would like to know how can make members a simple and easy link to remember and give to there friends to get to there profile.
Also changes the profile link in members profiles contact us tab from the long ugly link to the new short sexy link.
Also Adds a nicely placed User Profile link to the top of the navbar with profile editing links.

make it work like https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...87#post1683287

superjeff 12-13-2008 12:22 PM

Hi there. I'm going to do a big update to the product, and i ask for feedback. This is what i think to do:
-Include and incrase the sitemap plugin from paketeto.
-Fix the two old bugs: the vbadvanced and the wrong ('edit-this-') urls from forumdisplay.
-3.8 Update.

Any other suggest, except the rewrite of members profile?

This is the "classic" vbadvanced bug. You can remove the vbadvanced plugin, and wait for the update. You will no lose positoning.

hi Jeff, thanks for the reply. No I cannot afford to remove vbadvanced. But I can wait for a few days for the update. Can you provide any timeline when the update will be released?

Also in the update, will you rewrite URLs from the news archive and recent threads modules of vBadvanced? It would be great because if I have vBadvanced and I cannot use recent threads than it's off no use.

thanks for your time.

You don't have to remove vbadvanced, remove the vbadvanced tfseo plugin!

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to install this product sometime this week, but will it crush my server when I initially load it? Not sure if it'll end up having to convert all the URLs and cause a huge server overload (over 500,000 posts).

I checked with my host, and they said the normal server increase that it causes should be fine. I'm just curious about the initial, thanks!

I suggest to wait the new version, it will fix some bugs. You shoulden't get any server load problem of any sort, and the rewrite, too, isn't heavy.

stickskills 12-15-2008 07:44 AM

Sounds good, I'll hold out for the newest version. :)

Thanks!

Start disabling products via config.php. You haven't uploaded the product files correctly.

Hi!
I installed this one but I got problems with page navigation, for example, when I hit the 2 for 2nd page que url will be misite.com/my_url/page2.html&page=2 but whant I click over the > to change to page three (in a 5 page post) the url will change to misite.com/my_url/page5.html&page=3 and it will move to last page (which is page 5).
Can that be fixed?
tnx

I have been running this plugin for some time super jeff.

Great work on the whole but I have just lost my sites PR6 due to duplicate content and I am struggling to get to the bottom of it!
The problem is this

http://www.example.co.uk

and

http://www.example.co.uk/forum/
and
http://example.co.uk/forum/

all serve the same content. Meaning I have been penalised by Google and lost my Pr6 accidentally...

I have the TFseo installed for a few months now and all URLs are now in the serps so I cant change it! it is set to medium and I have tried tweaking settings but with no luck.

My htaccess file (shown below) is not working like it should be I dont think.....

Please help me out...how can I fix this? what should I do!!!

This is my htaccess for the forum root /site/

I have the required standard TFseo htaccess in my /site/forum/ subfolder

Hi firstly, your www.site.com and www.site.com/forum/ points to same content because there is a redirect in your htaccess file which is redirecting all request from www.site.com/forum/ to www.site.com/ and it's nothing to do with TFSEO. You should have made a directory called forum on your server and put your vbulletin files in that directory.

Secondly about the www issue, check out this post of mine

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=680

I am also using TFSEO and i have no duplicate content problem. You can check a working example at my site: Oracle Forums

The site IS IN A DIRECTORY called FORUM!!!

I have removed the htaccess and it still does this with TFseo running. I deleted all code except this

Quote:

# Rewrite requests for root home page to /forum/index.php
RewriteRule ^$ /forum/index.php [L]
So that people dont get an error when going to my url.

What I was trying to acheive is so that

www.site.com/forum/ 301 redirects to www.site.com/ thereby meaning I dont have dupe content issue anymore. Alternatively if the other redirects to /forum I would still be very happy!

Any ideas please? Im desperate!!

rockinaway 01-02-2009 08:31 AM

I have one problem with my archive. When I go into a forum, the threads lead to the actual version, rather than the archive version: http://www.adminfuel.com/archive/index.php/f-13.html

hello,

dear superjeff ,

if you want to update this mod with arabic language , please update this mod with farsi(persian) language too, as you don't know in persian language there is only four letters more than arabic's ,

persian letters :

What i understand is that you have put all your vbulletin files in a directory called forum. Now you want www.site.com/forum/ to redirect to www.site.com/

Is that right?

If yes, why in God's name did you first put the site in a directory called forum? Just put the whole VB files under your public_html folder and so www.site.com/ will have all your pages.

And if your www.site.com/forums/ pages are indexed in the serps then basically you have to make a choice whether you want your VBulletin webiste as www.site.com/ or www.site.com/forums. You can't have it both ways.

yes, you are right!!

But the forums have been installed in a subfolder for several years and it will be hard work to move it all to /root

and I will lose a lot of traffic/ inbound links possibly, unless I can use htaccess to redirect all requests from /forum/xxxyyy

to /xxxyyyy which should be possible.

but my question was related to the simpler task of using htaccess to try and prevent some of VBs dupe content! Im guessing you dont know the answer to my question :erm:

Hi

You DO have a duplicate content problem :)

It is NOT due to TFSEO I dont think, but

http://www.club-oracle.com/
http://www.club-oracle.com/index.php
http://club-oracle.com/index.php

All give identical content. That is a very bad thing for SERP ;)

Can you post the new tfseo_adv_portal_recthreads_exp template Jeff?
