May i know how much credits does the thanked person received per thanks? And where's the settings for it?Thanks

Darkwaltz4 08-26-2007 05:36 AM

if you install the thanks hack-credits addon (look in the extra/addon folder of the main zip) then you will find the settings for that in the usergroup editor

:D no problem

also, thanks again to everyone who nominated AND voted for us for MOTM :)

Sorry,2 more question if you dont mind.Whats the row name for the vbcredits if i were to manually add them using a query?

i.e

UPDATE user SET vbcredits=vbcredits+100 WHERE userid IN (1, 11)

Is that it?

And is there a way to disallow certain usergroups from donating their credits to another?Thats because some might just have duplicate accounts to do so.

Digital Jedi 08-26-2007 06:25 AM

You know, a snazzy option for a future addition might be an admin option to disallow donations from users to users with the same IP addresses. Maybe a little box you can fill in to allow specific IPs for those special cases where family members use the same computer. Just a thought. I have no idea how feasible that is.

dpatel304 08-26-2007 09:10 AM

Fantastic mod! A couple questions though:

1) I want to award 1 point everytime someone posts. Is there any quick way I can award users for their current post count? When I installed the mod, everyone had 0 credits, regardless of how many posts they have.

2) When users are in more than one usergroup, the credits seem to be adding up different. Instead of getting 1 point per post, I get something entirely different. It only seems to work fine with users in 1 usergroup. Is there anyway around this? I would prefer to keep my usergroups the same. Thanks.

the row is `credits`. 1.4 has usergroup locks :) (not 1.3, sorry)

1) yes, use the mass credit updater located at the bottom of the update counters screen. you can update most awards, not just posting :)

2) are you sure you dont have post size awards enabled? (per char / word)

Can you verify?

You can use admin log in as user hack posted somewhere here.
you can log in as any user by that mod and check their problem and find solution. :)

megamoose 08-26-2007 03:41 PM

Probably one of the best, most feature-full and easy to install points system I've seen on any board software.

Well done on this. It truly is an amazing piece of code.

kartik786 08-26-2007 05:42 PM

any updates on ushop ucash integrations :( !?

Darkwaltz4 08-26-2007 05:52 PM

To use vbcredits with ushop, go to the ucash settings, and set points field to credits, and set all the "points for.." to 0, so awards dont double up anywhere.

as for a converter, it is not ready yet, sorry

harmor19 08-28-2007 01:59 AM

I wrote something for Nexialys that allowed developers to add their own link under a central menu by using a hook which you can read about here

Is there something similar in vBCredits?

pspcrazy 08-28-2007 03:24 AM

Thanks looking forward to the RPG integration really badly :)

criscokid 08-28-2007 04:41 AM

I'd love to see Reviewpost and Photopost Pro intergration.

add their own link? right now theres really only one link (two in 1.4) so i dont know what good a full menu would be. perhaps for vbcommerce though.

working on it. i know in the lite version you can input the points hack to use, but in the full version i think it has its own which will need to be replaced...

feel free to suggest this at vbcredits.com, and elaborate on what kind of integrations you would like to see :-p

applyimage 08-28-2007 09:59 AM

Hey a little confusion with what this mod does, I understand you gain points but does this include the 'shop' to spend them in or will I require another hack for this? :)

yes :(

applyimage 08-28-2007 10:29 AM

:( So what hack on top of this would I then require? I hear the name vbplaza everywhere, would that be it?

Boidy 08-28-2007 01:42 PM

The developer of this hack is also developing vBCommerce which will complement this hack, providing similar features to vBPlaza.

pspcrazy 08-28-2007 04:20 PM

I'm having some odd glitches with this software as of yet. With the rate thread feature i can get 500 points from one rate when i set the multiplyer to 0 and the rate feature to 5. Also i woke up today and someone had -45000 points randomly and that person was a mod :|

pspcrazy 08-28-2007 04:22 PM

Very nice i can't wait for vbcommerce until then i'll keep the shop software nothing :)

I meant for people creating add-ons to vBCredits. For example let's say I'm developing an add-on for a lottery system (I know it's been done before). I can use a hook to add a link under a central menu that links to my lottery script.

I just thought it would be better than having people edit their navbar template to add a link for the add-on. Well keep doing what you're doing :-p

pspcrazy 08-28-2007 08:50 PM

Yea she did, but i removed all the multipliers so im a bit confused :|

Darkwaltz4 08-28-2007 09:13 PM

yeah - i know all about that bug.

to fix:
Edit Plugin: Thread Rate Credit Application
FIND
PHP Code:

$reward = ($this->registry->userinfo['permissions']['credit_threadrate'] * $this->registry->userinfo['credits_numrefs']) * $this->registry->userinfo['permissions']['credit_threadrate'];

replace with
PHP Code:

$reward = ($this->registry->userinfo['permissions']['credit_refbonus'] * $this->registry->userinfo['credits_numrefs']) * $this->registry->userinfo['permissions']['credit_threadrate'];

might want to recalc everyone's credits afterwards

davewmack 08-29-2007 04:16 PM

Is there anyways to have vbcredits add points for everyones posts/referrals retroactively?

thanks

Check global settings and settings for each usergroup from ACP.

darkblade25 08-30-2007 01:36 PM

Is it possible to add credits outside of vbulletin? Such as if they submit something when they are login on a page outside of the forums, and then they receive credit in their vbulletin account.

I'm still reading through the 875 posts to see if anyone else is having these issues but so far I'm not seeing anything.

I installed this yesterday. I have it set to give everyone 10 points a day for logging in. Last night it gave everyone ten points, even if they haven't been to the board for months (or in some cases, years).

Also, I had 2xx points when I went to bed. I woke up to over 900. Any ideas why? Lots of people got points over night for reasons I can't figure out.

gingery 08-31-2007 03:40 PM

A couple of more things...

I checked and my time credit is set to zero and my activity credit is set to 10. I have the activity credit set to "log in".

From what I can tell, everyone got points for referral overnight. (Is there a log somewhere that shows where my 9xx points came from?) I'm resetting everyone to zero tonight so that I can run a September contest. Will the referral points be issued again at midnight (or worse yet, every day at midnight) or was that a one time thing?

Yes it is possible that they all got referral credits - and for one time only. You see, in vbcredits referrals need to be validated before they are "counted" in the system. so, lots of people have referrals, but 0 were validated, and as they were, the users get the referral awards. This also builds up the additive referral bonus (which gets some new caps in 1.4), so this also induces some differences between seemingly similar users. the equations for each award always include several factors which you might have forgotten had something to do with them.

its possible to add credits to any vbulletin enabled page, but will generally require some tweaking or an addon. suggest it in the addon forum on vbcredits.com

Hendrizius 09-01-2007 03:52 PM

Works like a charm. Another suggestion: Integrate a shop yourself, as there are currently only rather bad shop-systems out. That would certainly improve the quality of this mod even more.

He's working on vB Commerce and vB Customiser, two shop like systems. One allows buying of images and the like, one allows you to charge for user options and name styles. And I think another one allows for real money donations and real items to be bought.
