Of the video sites already loaded onto PassiveVid, do any of them allow porn or fighting or anything else one might not want on a "G-Rated" forum? I ask cuz I only recognize about four of those sites!

EDIT: I just noticed a bit of a problem. I was creating a "how-to" thread on this new hack and I wanted to post a sample URL like this...

But with the CODE wraps it doesn't show the URL text, it actually embeds the video in a tiny lil box! Kinda weird!

The other thing that happens is any text added after the URL wrapped in the [code] wraps, disappears! I created a test post here.

This text, "Trying to use [code] wraps around URL." is actually typed in after the closing /CODE but as you can see, it's not showing up!

I'm having trouble now limiting the videos to just these two sections on the forum...

There's a place in the hack where you are supposed to put the number of the forum you'll allow videos and then those become the ONLY areas where the hack will work. Well... I put in f146,f147 and then tried 146,147 but I'm still able to post videos in all areas of the forum. Please advise.

why cant we add our own code for different sites?

Is it necessary to touch the code verytime?

Can there be a way to store all such things in database.
For eg. i know that for
dailymotion

and all we need to know is "x3p6tf"

We Just need to know these 6 words.
We can then embed the video by simply replacing the code bellow

How can i make the videos look sleek when posted like in the old version??

Still looking for help being able to restrict which areas on my forum people can place the videos. I want to strict the videos to these two forums...

The actual forum id's are numbers, you can find them in your admincp, under forums & moderators to the left

Then click on the actual forum, like to edit it and there is an (id: X) in the header area.


There might be an easier place to see the forum id's, but that works for me.

Now a question. Sometimes when I upload a link to a YouTube video, it shows fine. But when you click the button to play it....it just gives a message that says "this video is no longer available"...yet it is still on YouTube and works fine. Can somebody tell me what is causing that. Here is an example of one.

I've changed some of those settings in the product and re-uploaded it.

I installed this works great but one question. Most users won't know this feature is enabled there is no button or tags to put around it. And the embedded doesnt work because html isn't enabled. But if i just put the address bar then it works fine. This is not a problem

But i would really like somesort of button in the reply box.

Does anyone know anything about this?

We've used this add on for months, and have never experienced it not working. We don't have the HTML on in most of the forum if not all of it, and it works as long as you have the videos selected in the admin cp options. Meaning it's not going to auto embed metacafe if it's turned off in the admin cp.

I have thought of that as well with the button on the editor, and the fact that people won't know it's there. Or if they see people post they are going to ask questions on how do they do it. It would be nice if there was a button that worked like the Link Unlink where it said what url do you want to add or what code would you like to add to the thread. It still wouldn't necessarily need to be a BBcode, but it would notify everyone that "hey you can post or embed videos".
