I've installed this, and it works perfectly, apart from the 'who's chatting' bit. I've read thro' this thread a dozen times and whatever I try doesn't work.
Also, I'm a bit concerned by dwh's comments! |
What is the current status of this? Is it working for most people?

It's been a while since I've posted, sorry :(
dwh has some points. I'm not sure which parts of the code he considers buggy (please pm me any obvious bugs you've noticed and they'll be fixed ASAP) I do agree that the implementation could be more efficient. Using templates/phrases as they are now is a bit of a hack, the purpose being to produce the script quickly (we're not VB coders) without requiring major code changes to the VB core, and without creating dependancies upon certain databases. That being said, the next version will be a rewrite, and will possibly be only MySQL based with a custom installer and configuration utility. Most of our customers have little trouble getting it to work. The most common problems are not setting the chat room ID number correctly in the config file, and/or not having the url_fopen option enabled in php.ini (required for Who's Chatting updates) If you have problems feel free to email support@raidersoft.com -- Providing your chat_global.php file, your SigmaChat account number is always helpful. Sometimes we need admin and ftp access to resolve problems. Cheers! |
Great tool! However, all Admins are showing up as just "Moderator". Here how I have my usergroups:
AUTH_ACCESS = Users (couple of usergroupids) AUTH_ADMIN = Mods (one usergroupid) AUTH_GRANT = Admins (one usergroupid) When Admins log in, they have the AUTH_GRANT powers in the chat room, but on the Who's Chatting module, they're displayed as "Moderators", rather than "Administrator". Thoughts? |
Does this work on 3.07?

i just started having problems yesterday, my members used to click the chat link i setup and they autoloaded into the chat. Now I get a popup window and the background window changed dumps to the forum then closes, the chat eventually logs in but something is out of whack. I haven't changed any code, is anyone else having issues?
