Thanks for the info, I just moved the </a> to the end of the line where it shows the folder icon and board name and that did it for me.

I've just re-downloaded and these instructions are not in the current zip.

All the instructions are in the first post of this thread ;) Any additional stuff, like editing templates etc is now contained within the install process.

This is something I was wondering as well, in your first post your instructions state "Upload all files where upload.txt tells you and then go to the upgrade scripts." When I posted I had an error you told me to change stuff in vbconfig.php like the instructions say. I don't quite understand this all but I think there is something amis.

OK, I think I figured out my problem, the upgrade process never told me what to enter as the path in my vbiconfig.php and that was the same step that had me stumped in the original version. How do you find out what your path is, I have tried a variety of things and none of them seem to work.

This should be a crime.

A crime that an awesome portal such as this is so friggin easy to install.

Theres gotta be some law about that, if not, give GWB enough time to find it.

The actual portal install took bout 5 minutes, figuring out the nav bar trick took bout 10 minutes. Customizing the boxes will take a week ;)

Right on guys. I'm sorry I didnt know you had previous releases before rc :(

Your server path?

It will report that on that page, if not, what ftp proggie do you use? many of them will give you the exact path up at the top.

okay, it seems that I have solved the problem myself, but I dont know if this hack damaged my styles, they don't want to display correctly now T_T

Blue Storm 01-07-2004 07:33 AM

OK, I have got it working to an extent. A problem I am having is that my forums are at http://forums.method-call.com but whenever I try to log in from the portal page it tries to access http://www.method-call.com/login.php. How do I prevent this?

OK, it also seems that to get images to appear on the portal page I had to change the image path setting to forums/images/etc and now on the forum page all the images are set to http://forums.method-call.com/forums/whatever.

How don't they work correctly? Its posible the installer messed them up, but I've not exeprienced any problems with it. Any details you can give would be great.

You need to edit the form in the navbar template so login.php points to the correct place. Your image paths should be like this: http://forums.method-call.com/images/etc
