I am having problems though, go to my "register" page like you are going to register. You will notice the font color on the menu for like security questions...etc... you cant read. In style var what do I need to change to change that font color there or the background image of that border that is gray making it too hard to read?

Also go to my profile: http://www.radarreviews.org/forums/m...radar-reviews/

The "About Me" page is messed up, has that big white box there so you cant read the text there about how many posts I have made...etc.. what would I change in stylevar to fix that?

Everything else seems to look great!

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Anyone know how to add the "facebook connect" button to the log in area?

Seems we lost that with this style.

I'm unsure how the default vbulletin facebook connect works. Let me know if you guys figure this out. I have a feeling it has to do with the header code.

docvader 05-23-2010 06:15 AM

It's in the header code, and I can make it work once you're logged in. I can log in with the default vb4 style, and then move to your style and see the facebook connect logo in the header The problem is, with your drop down java log on, I don't know where to put this code.

The code is:
Code:

<vb:if condition="$vboptions['enablefacebookconnect']">
                                        {vb:raw facebook_header}
                                </vb:if>

It goes in the member option area, usually right after this line in HEADER

Code:

<li class="welcomelink">{vb:rawphrase welcome_x_link_y, {vb:raw bbuserinfo.username}, {vb:link member, {vb:raw bbuserinfo}}}</li>
Now, if you can put this in the appropriate place in HEADER, and in your template for the log in area, it should work....

Also, you need to put the two facebook gif's into your misc (image) directories.

If you got the Facebook connect working, could you post your header code in it's entirety? Thanks!

Honestly, if you look at the vBulletin.com forums, facebook connect will be obsolete soon, and will be replaced with Open Graph or whatever its called. Facebook is planning on merging their Connect button with a bunch of other websites like Google/Yahoo/Myspace,OpenID, so that logging into sites really becomes alot easier for everyone.

So all these facebook connect problems will be a thing of the past give or take a few months-year at most...

In that time, you may lose all your members that joined through facebook connect, due to database config...who knows how it will be set up.

docvader 05-25-2010 04:31 AM

vb 4.04 is supposed to have a facebook bridge in it, whereby threads go to a facebook site along with your forum. I think vbulletin is staying on top of this issue, and, unfortunately, (I'm not a facebook fan by any means...) this whole interaction is here to stay.

I think that when you connect with facebook connect, and you're a new user to the forum, vb creates that user in your database. If you're a current user, and you connect with facebook, it will either log you in as that facebook user, or, you can associate your facebook account with a current forum account.

And then, to complicate matters, in the typical "take over the world" facebook fashion, when you log in with an account that exists on your forum, facebook creates yet another user (your forum user).

I'm not quite sure I understand it all yet. But, unfortunately, for those of us with websites, I think this is going to be a necessary evil.

It shouldn't be that difficult. in the Header, just put the code as I listed it. Problem is, I'm stuck with this style's log in template; I can't seem to find it. That code also has to go in the log in template. It should work at that point.

daveaite 05-25-2010 09:03 PM

Well I can reverse the changes, and make the theme slighty more boring :P But I love the log-in system xD

docvader 05-27-2010 03:32 AM

Log in system is great, please keep it. Thought you might be able to add the facebook connect option to that part of the code.

Personally, I've drifted away from the whole facebook connect thing, but, given that vb4.04 is supposed to have increased facebook functionality, it's something to consider for the future.
