Love this hack. (Have marked it as installed, too.)
I've been occasionally having some problems with portal posts. This only happens with posts that include special formatting, so possibly it's just an issue with the code properly dealing with all possible cases. When this problem occurs the post body fragment is fine, but the post title includes text that should not be there. Here is an example... The title should read simply: Quote:
However, it's reading as... Quote:
For reference, the post causing this problem is... Code:
Hello Everyone!!! (Very minor addtional point, but just in case it matters, I should note that here at vbulletin.org, in the example post body above, the PHP Code block should be displaying "?>" at the very end, but it doesn't, although this works correctly on my forum. ) |
need desperate help on this:
check out my site: www.computerforumz.com it seems to continue loading index.php even though i have already changed the default page to forum.php. help! |
go to admin cp>>>vbulletin options>>forum home page options> and change the script name to forum instead of index.
Note: dont put forum.php, only forum without "php" at the end. |
already did that.... this is what u get in the link above
actually, wasn't sure what i'm supposed to get, so i modified the .htaccess file to point to forum.php but i guess that's not the point rite? anyway, to see my problem now... goto www.computerforumz.com/index.php i will modify the .htaccess file back once i get this problem sorted out. |
it just does not display anything else below the horizontal menus... help???

This is a pretty nice mod. Thanks. A decent alternative to paying for vBadvanced just for a little homepage.
One question I have though, I notice in my news articles, someone posted a thread with a youtube clip, (we don't use the youtube vB plugin / tag, it's just the default embed html tag) but the video does not show up in the article on the portal page. Anyone know why this is? |
Oh I see, you are doing a regex replace to remove the tags from the preview.. why is that?
My solution is to only remove tags if the preview is larger than the allowed number of characters. Then alter the template to change it so that the "preview" when you mouse over the thread title is not the full html. (Just remove this, or change it to $news['title'] ) Now youtube posts show correctly. (though who knows what other kidns of bugs allowing this html could introduce. hmm.) Awesome mod. Thanks again! Clicked install... |
how hard is it to get vbshout integrated into this system? i read the htread and didnt really see an answer just that it will work with it
