Sorry but I can't help with individual customisations, your template code is missing part of the default vb code that this requires.
|
I've been asked if I intend to port this to 3.7 - the answer is no - it has always been the intention to replace this version (new posts) with the unread posts mod, and only that version will be ported to 3.7.
|
I need it for 3.7 , can you upgrade it? :o

See post #213.

Can you make it work for 3.6.8
Nevermind Read Above! |
I've recently changed my forum read marking type to "Database (no automatic forum marking)". However now it tells me I have way too many new posts since my last visit and only goes back to zero if I log out and back in. Help?
|
Not sure what you mean by "way too many posts", but this mod does not care what marking system you use as its not relevant. All it uses is your last visit date.
|
Well, I meant right now it tells me there are 23 new posts. It just keeps going higher and higher. It'd reach 100 if I never logged off and back in. I'm just thinking it should count small periods of inactivity as "your last visit". For example, right now I've responded to all posts and haven't posted anything new in the last 15 minutes. Though it still tells me there are 23 new posts.

Sounds like its working perfectly to me.
As time passes the number of new posts is obviously going to go up as more people post - how could the number possibly go down ? (posts don't magically disappear). How many you have responded to is completely irrelevant to this modification, this is new posts, not unread posts. The fact you have made no new posts does not matter either - other people have, it counts everyones. Your last visit date is clearly displayed in the welcome box and only changes if you logout, or your session expires. That's standard vb functionality. |
