Hi man.
I was using your chat for almost a year without a problem. Today my server updated the PHP version up to 5.4 and now every message with spanish characters (? ? ? ? ? ? etc) disappear from the chat.
I mean if you send a message with one of those character the chat only display the author but not the message.

Do you have any advice? Im running the last version of MGC Chatbox Evo

im having the same issue after updating to 4.2.2 patch 1

the chatbox does not update with new content you have to refresh the entire page in order to see updated chats.

i do not have mod_security installed

for those haven issues with it no loading i figured out a temporary solution

open config.php in your includes folder

and right under "<?php" paste the following

define('SKIP_ALL_ERRORS', true);

that should work for now

i purchased this product over three days ago and have yet to receive my license file via the premiere support forum......

It was just pointed out to me that the chatbox won't work when you type terraforums.com into the address bar... But www.terraforums.com it works fine. Any idea why that would be? Attached is what it looks like.

We have a .htaccess entry that redirects site.com to www.site.com -- we don't use the short form -- maybe you should do that?

Eg:

how comes /pm doesn't work for me, it allways says user is not online.

I have enabled it (it shows it when u start typing /p for example as well)

Tried /Pm ReMarkable /Pm uname ReMarkable and / pm uname "ReMarkable" with different names and with and without capitals.

Also when u click on someone it opens a seperate tab for messages with that person, however there is no way to know some1 send you a message this way unless you press on him as well.

Any tips?

Can anyone help me with this issue?

I'm having an issue where the channel images do not show up on the main page, but do show up in the full chat page. Can't seem to figure out how to fix this issue. I tried in default style and issue is still there. I'm using VB 4.2.2 and MGC 3.4.0

In reading through this thread, the "loading" issue has gone unresolved for years.

Isn't it time you had a serious look at this issue, determine the root of the problem, and fix it? I moved a 7 year old site to a new server, and decided to upgrade the chat box. Big mistake.

Exploit been found in MGC, My forum was nearly compromised because of this flaw. Luckily the hacker was testing, rather than destroying. I believe he's sent you an email, if you don't fix I will be pushing this forward to vBulletin staff.

Although if any vBulletin staff want to PM me and I'll explain how to re-inact the flaw, Which can I say gives out. username, salted password.

It will/would be taken down once it has been reported to a admin/moderator and verified. Afaik it has not been reported and verified yet.

Well on their site, it seems the admin have gone awol.. no replies... no licence files issued after you buy pro version.. few people complaining about their paid for versions not getting activated.. i would heed caution until MGC himself can explain as he is owner and has not been online since 7/7/14

I dont wish to bad mouth MGC as his products are very good... just that he needs to explain him self or one of his fellow admin

They changed the whole code when developping vB5 so I'd have to recode everything...

When you use the mobile version of Vbulletin 4.2.2, this thing STILL generates loads of errors AFTER you log in under your username you get:

Using this chat ( lite version) for a long time now, and it's working perfect.
Only thing I can't get to work is to show who's in the chatbox in a CMPS module on the hompage. Does anyone now how to fix that?

I'll check every single line of code of this mod for SQL injection, LFI, RFI, RCE, etc. whenever I have some time on my hands. As far as I know this mod is pretty safe though.

What is de best setting for validity en who's in ( advanced settings) ?

I can't seem to get it correct. Both settings seems to affect each other.

When I increase the time (so people won't show as inactive when not typing) it also affects the time they still show active when they leave the chatbox.

Got them both at 1 minute now, otherwise they leave and they still show as active in the chatbox for a long time. Problem is when they don't type for a minute they show inactive also ( name disappears).
