The chatbox works fine on forum home page, I have never got it to work on the vaispy script pages, only Loading...

Ahh....I haven't used the forums for months since my ISP decided to screw my line up. Once I buy a new server I'll have to mess with that.

My time stamp is 5 hours off, how do I fix it? I've checked all over my board for settings, I found nothing that indicates that I'm 5 hours ahead. Timestamps are fine in every other aspect of the board.

I figured it out, it was a setting in my profile.

How do you clear the chatbox of all text?

I'm currently having the same problem, User can type a message and press OK. However, the message is not clear and not display on the chatbox. In order to see the message display on the chatbox, the user have to refresh the page.

Any idea ?

Everything works with the default settings but I've yet to figure out how to get the chatbox working in the VB4 sidebar.

I used the mgc_cb_evo_var in the MGC Chatbox Evo Block and tried creating a widget. Nothing is working. I bet I'm overlooking something simple. Any suggestions?

Hi. After the update, now I have a permanent "Loading..." everytime I refresh the forumhome... I need to refresh manually, with the arrow icon, and that solve it, but it's pretty annoying.

OK, disabled and then enabled again in plugins/products and seems to be working now. Strange...

This sometimes happens for products that use the datastore.

I'm pretty sure that's a paid add-on.

Reinstall the chat again. Meaning upload all the files again, install, then FOLLOW the directions on how to remove it step by step and that should resolve it.

Just installed this mod on 4.2.2 followed the directions - on the home page it just says loading

When I click on the archives or the full page mode this is what I get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/vaoutdoo/public_html/mgc_cb_evo.php(634) : eval()'d code on line 1

Do you have the full error message with line impacted ?

Do you have more information than that in your PHP error log ?

Hello. I have been using the chat box for a while now, it works great and I am very happy with it.

One question though, the site speed where the chat box is viewable is certainly slower, are there any tips to improve the load speed?

I have noticed following:

VB 4.2.2

Chat 3.3.0
chat works, but when you type messages in, nothing happens until you refresh browser.

Chat 3.4.0
getting stuck in constant "Loading" until you hit refresh button.

Looks like a bug to me, choose your poison, either 3.3.0 or 3.4.0 whatever works for you.

Hope this issue will be resolved soon by the developer as chat is great, but this bug is very annoying.

Loading Issue Troubleshooting

This issue is usually caused by Mod_Security on Apache
1.To check if there is a Mod_Security issue: AdminCP > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Problematic Webserver Modules > CLICK SUBMIT
2.If Mod_Security has "yes" then apply this fix:
3.edit/create .htaccess and add the following:
<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>
4.Close and save it. Place this in the root of the forum and restart the web service.

Hi there,

I currently have this installed on my site, but whenever I close the shout box (only have it open for a few hours once a week, during a football match) it forces the forum to crash where I have to reboot the server to get it up, or sometimes have the DB repaired.

Any ideas why this is happening? It's almost as if there are however many people in the shout box, and when it's shut they're all thrown back into the forum which overloads it. My hosting package is good, I've upgraded since this started happening to try and combat it but to no avail.

Hi. I have a problem with this. I have it on my forum (playadictos.net) and everything worked fine until today... it's loading all the time, I can't see anything.

I cleaned cache, repaired tables, etc... all maintenance. I even reset the hosting...

Shared hosting? Maybe your host disable the script because of the server load.

No... VPS... and VSA Chatbox works fine...

If you have the Chatbox infinite loading bug, modify the /forum/mgc_chatbox_evo_ajax.php file line:
to two lines:
The bug is regarding the PHP Version 5.3 and above and is caused by an outdated function as the official support posted here:

I evaluated this add-on in December. After uninstalling, it left behind some trouble. For example, I was unable to modify or add VB usergroups.
