You can configure different colors for the shoutBox for different vBulletin themes. However, if users using different themes are using the same shoutBox, you end up wanting to make them the same color anyway (unless you force the users to a single color when typing).

To give you an example, my site has a light theme and a dark theme. Originally I had changed the shoutbox colors to match the themes. But the people on the light theme would use dark colors for their texts, and the dark themers would use light colors, so the different groups would have a hard time reading each others' texts ;)

I ended up going with a middle-to-dark color theme for the shoutBox so that both groups were using the same background and could choose appropriate colors.

Unfortunately it's not possible to change the order of the first 2 tabs, no :(

You could switch to manual deployment in vBShout and only add the variable to your standard skin.

Please add yourself to Super Administrators in config.php or grant your account Can Administer vBShout via your Super Administrator account.

The upgrade doesn't work. I uploaded new files, 777'd the aop folder and imported the new XML and the shoutbox is stuck on "Loading...". It doesnt load my saved font colors etc either.

Just so you understand. i want to run VSA Chatbox on 1 skin and i want to run Vbshout on another skin.

Giving the users the option to choose either skin and use either chatbox
