Have you upgraded to a current (or near current) version of vBulletin 4?

Using a conditional you can decide what, if any, information shows in this area just as you may chose to apply similar filtering on post counts, photo uploads, etc.

After adding more products I realized I am having the same issue as Killhunter, not able to edit products on the next page. Click next page takes you back to the Manage Products page. Even if I enter the product name, I am taken to the first page of the list. I am using vBulletin 4.1.12 PL1.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, is the import product xml function specifically for 50 or more items? I tried testing it with just a few items and I received an error.

As I've mentioned before, I don't offer support for significantly outdated versions of vBulletin. Even if issues exist in the mod it introduces too many variables to debug. This may change your decision to use mod but I'll leave that to you.

Thanks. Give this version of admincp/productsforums.php a shot... I posted it a few weeks back but haven't updated the main download yet apparently.

The script doesn't care if you have one or one thousand products but your server may as importing can timeout the processes. What error are you getting?

Well like I said, I can't offer direct support until you get to a more recent version but the file I posted a few messages back should work for your version as well.

The productforums.php file you uploaded does not correct the problem for me. As for the errors, I was mistaken, they were warnings. Below is basically what I had happen when trying to upload the xml file. I used the template in the "do not upload" folder.

Now looking at it though, could it be because I am using html in the description?

Which function are you still having issues with the in admin?

As for the import, it looks like you have special characters in your HTML. I'll throw in some sanatizing elements when I post up changes for the product manager.

I'm still having issues with getting to the products on the next page clicking the "Next Page" button. I have just upgraded to 4.2.0 and everything still seems to be working great except for that feature.

When the incorrect / blank page loads up what is the url for just that frame (you can remove your domain, I just need what comes after /admincp/).

I installed another modification and my site just stopped working so, I had to restore a backup from 5 days ago (I didn't remember doing any real work from the date of my last backup but, lesson learned). I will have to re-post all of the products I had. I will post back when I have at least two pages of products done so I can let you know. I'm thinking I should have this done by Wednesday the latest.

Not a coder, but will try to understand things, is it all set out in the php file?

There's a css file included in the addon download which controls this page. Just open it up in your favorite editor and adjust the colors as you see fit.

Installed - When I add a product the post is created but it states "this is an empty post". Any ideas?

Did you enable the mod in the forum your products are created in?

We're preparing to make a feature update mostly to take advantage of some of the new 4.2x functionality but if anyone has an open bug or request please feel free to pass it along.

Honestly I do not know. I'm not technical per se, nor have I gotten a response from them yet about it.

Without a feed you'd have to manually enter the products or find a way to scrape (essentially automate the copying of) products from their site.

Does anybody know how to setup an Amazon affiliate xml file with this modification? I'm trying to find a way to add a lot of products without having to manually do this. Can anybody help me with this or give me some suggestions please.

Do you have access to Amazon's datafeed program? If so, you'll have to have someone adjust the parser as the structure is different [and more extensive] plus there are particular rules around using images, storing elements, etc. Also given the amount of data you'll really want to move the parser off of the web and into some sort of a shell script if you plan to bring in large numbers of items.

Same as question #2... I see a white background in your screenshot but it's many elements lower. How are you determining that this is the source of the problem?

Is the product advertising API the same as Amazons data feed program? I thought there would be an easier way to get a few products (200 and less) from Amazon and put them in xml file.

Could you also help me with this error: The administrator of this site must disable the vBulletin option "Add Template Name in HTML Comments", a debugging feature, to use this mod. Unless of course they want debugging comments in the reviews.

I'm still a little confused on this...

I thought I had the correct options enabled but obviously I'm missing something here. My thread are showing in the right review forum section but people can't review the items and get the error stated above.

What am I missing here?

UPDATE - FIXED THE ISSUE :-) JUST HAD A BRAIN FART... NOW I'M GETTING This feature is not configured yet. Please check back soon.

An API allows you to request products on demand, it does not give you information on them until you do so meaning that you'd still have to save the data yourself, compile it, then import it.

With 200 products you can however use the existing import script.

It's an admin setting that helps sites debug their templates by adding comment tags. However since this mod hides a post it causes a conflict and needs to be turned off... if you didn't know what it was, you aren't using it.

Ted is there a way to alter how these look in the forum view? I.e the title, no of reviews and the overal rating?

I'm having trouble posting reviews. It says I don't meet the minimum word count, put what I'm trying to post is a lot more than 50 words.

It's not letting me submit a review because of the above...?

I am now getting this - When ever I try to write and submit a review!

On the new activity stream, it shows the content of the post as "this is an empty post" but if you click on the link in the activity stream it takes you through to the product where there is a description etc.

You've made 5 posts back to back. I'd ask that you repost whatever issues you are now having into one so I'm not answering what you already figured out or further broke.

The mod makes blank posts, it's only in viewing the thread that other review information is called in. Our hope is to exclude those posts from the feed all together but that's a few weeks away.

I have a question, how would users submit reviews? Do they submit only reviews but not ability to submit products themselves? In other words, only admin can add new products?

I set my dedicated forum to enable the "Enable Product Review Forum Features?" option. It works, but when submitting a "new thread" in that forum, I see the regular looking editor and nothing related to product reviews. Is this normal?

I just got a copy of the xml feed from Christian Book Group, 408Mb in size. How can I import this, since its such a large file?
