Great product! Everything works great except when I tag someone in a thread, then go to my home page that shows all the Recent Forum Posts, it says [MENTION=42]username[/MENTION]. Is there a way to fix this?

Yes, you have to buy a branding-free license on their site.

I expected paying for the full version would take care of the branding, but I guess that's not the case.

followed directions to the T Installed and removed multiple times...cannot make it work. When you view "statistics" or "tags" I get 404 error on usertag.php

After I upgraded from 4.1.5 with this mod (2.0.4) to 4.2.1 and also upgraded this mod with it everything works well except 1 ISSUE

If you're receiving a 404 error, this means the mod isn't uploaded correctly.

Please drag and drop the full contents of the upload folder to your forum folder.

I have this same issue, but I am not using VBSEO. Just regular 4.2.1 - any thoughts?

Try the following that came from vBSEO support:

In vbseo.php file change this line:

Sorry if I'm spreading this across two different threads, just thought it would make more sense to post here.

Seems like the plugin works with 2 errors (possibly 3). I have all the content uploaded to the forum, but it's doing what some have described here. The user will receive a notification saying they have a new mention, but clicking it just simply gives them a blank page with the url http://www.steamgamers.com/forum/use...f&tab=mentions. I tried editing the vbseo file like you said, didn't seem to do anything.

Also I put it so it would require a semicolon at the end, but it's just ignoring that option or something. People use @name and that works, but @name; will not work with the option set to 'Yes' in settings.

Also it keeps randomly unparsing the mention code like I stated in the other thread, then reparsing it, and so on. Not entirely sure what is going on with it.

I implemented the vbseo fix mentioned above which resolved the errors when clicking on notifications. However, I now get the blank page that channelfuse mentions above. The mod is otherwise functioning perfectly. I'm on 4.2.1.

Please ensure display_errors is set to on in php.ini so that we can see an actual error message.

Hey,

I have an issue, I installed everything as described.

When I tag someone like @DragonByte Tech, the tagged part simply disappears in the message I post, writing "@DragonByte Tech hi" results in just "hi", there are no errors displayed.

I"m having a slight issue with this plug-in.

Under the user avatar in threads, where their stats are, the Post Mentioned statistics are on the same line as my Post Thanks statistics from another mod.

Is there anyway I can fix this?

I get the same thing too but no error.

Basically;

1. it notifies the user, but in the post page there is no "@username" displayed
2. However, "@username" is displayed in activity stream, in email;
3. When I click on the email link, it will point to http://xxx/forum/member.php?4-xxx&tab=mentions it goes to the user profile but its blank
4. Click on the menu to link to user tag statistics, its blank as well

1) Is there any way to hide mentions/quotes listed in the User Profile if the 'viewer' cannot see those private forums for where the mention/quote is situated?

Example: UserA cannot view other threads in X Forum, he can only make/view own threads. UserB makes a thread in X Forum. UserA can see the thread title/desc that UserB made, even though he cant view other threads, via the User Profile Mentions/Quotes tab.

2) When I use @mention, and then edit the post, it will mention the person again (gives them a notification of being mentioned). Can this be prevented?

3) When I use @mention, even though they cannot see the thread/forum, they will still get a notification.

In versions prior to the latest at the time of writing, this was the default behaviour.

In later versions, these mentions are included, but the thread title is changed to the phrase n_a.

This change was made for performance reasons, otherwise it would have been impossible to practically implement vB Optimise caching of the queries required to calculate mentions to be displayed.

This does not happen, unless you mention a new user in place of the old one (or add a new mention). The new user will then get a notification.

This behaviour makes much more sense in the latest version at the time of writing, where they will still see the new mention in their profile tab (although the thread title is hidden, and is not a link to the thread).

Hi, amazing plugin. I am considering buying the full version, however there is a bug that is really bugging me, excuse the pun.

Whenever I mention someone or quote them, it makes a duplicate entry on their profile, with one of the entries showing N/A.

- Edit - I did not notice others above have reported this already.

I've been seeing a lot of N/A entries on profiles and after updating, it has revealed they're marked as Deleted Posts entries. However, these posts do not seem to be deleted (Not found when searching for soft deleted posts by users). I have posted 2 screenshots. The second one shows something more peculiar, two entries at the same time, one marked "Deleted" and another containing the thread title of the quote. I could only guess that it could have something to do with a user editing his post and modifying the @tag? This happens on multiple occasions on many profiles.

What about the thread itself, is that visible?

Can you check the values of the visible column in the post and thread tables for one of those entries? If there's an issue that I can't replicate locally, I'll need to see that data in order to fix it :)

Hi Fillip,

Its not working for anyone.. we all get same error.. the only stable version was 3.0.6

and one suggestion if you can add mention for Groups?

Installed on 4.2.0, the in-post tagging didn't work, @username didn't trigger anything.

Are there any other mods that do in-post tagging but much simpler? I only need in-post tagging, no mention, no quote, no emails, no thread-level tagging, no stats. This one is too heavy...
