Hi Fillip,
I was wondering if you could give me a little insight as to what may be causing this error in my error log;
PHP Code:

File does not exist: /var/chroot/home/content/...../dbtech/vbshout/aop/chatroom_25_0.txt

It is showing in several different chatroom_.txt lines.

Thanks

DragonByte Tech 02-24-2011 01:05 PM

That's just the AOP files, nothing to worry about :)

So long as you followed the readme and CHMOD'ed the /aop/ dir, everything is fine :)

Thanks Fillip for the quick response. I did follow everything to a "T".

VERY nice mate, love the features, outstanding work. I'll talk over goin PRO with the boys and see what they say.

DAMINK 02-28-2011 08:52 PM

How can i limit this to one specific forum?
I have tried the literal address.
I have tried the id of the forum.
I have tried just about everything i can think of.
I do run VBSEO and wonder if that effects it??
Would love some help here folks.

creppello 03-01-2011 02:50 AM

Use as a module.

The post is on vbadvanced forums.....just search for this product.

There is an error in "step 4"though, but I posted the repair for it.

DAMINK 03-01-2011 03:51 AM

No idea what your talking about Creppello. Can you pm me mate and give me url etc please.

Anyone else have problems getting the notifications to show up with any certain mods/hacks being installed? The notifications were all working great, then today I installed "post thank you hack", New album picture forum home", and "user group color bar". Now the notifications won't work, and I have disabled one by one and tested. Even had all the new hacks disabled, still no notifications.

Help anyone?

In the XML folder, same parent folder as you find the "upload" folder :)

This may very well be a very silly question but I can't seem to delete any of the shouts even though I am logged in as admin and I have the permissions to do so.

Rgds.

Did you try double-clicking them and then pressing the Delete button?

Hey, somebody tell me how I can do the same options as it was in (Inferno vBShout) if I gave someone a ban receive information from the chat
Quote:

(*Admin has banned the user TEST from the shoutbox*)
are the same as if you deleted the ban

For privacy reasons we elected not to include those messages. We may add them optionally to a future version, though :)

Fillip

When can I expect the next version?

She was advised that the opportunity would you like to do it? Or would you have done and versions would help the PM, if you do not want to publicly post on the forum.

DragonByte Tech 03-09-2011 03:21 PM

v5.4.0 is already in Beta testing, though it will not contain this feature (unless plans change before Final version is ready).

I don't have an ETA on the version that will contain this feature, sadly :(

Fillip

Mateusz0307zk 03-09-2011 03:27 PM

Well, as you help to do this would be in this version?

However, another question whether it would be an option in the next version:
Code:

Post Markers
A post marker is a message in the shoutbox, to say when a user has reached a certain amount of posts in intervals. For example, if you inserted 100 for this setting, everytime a user hit 100, 200, 300, etc.. posts, the shoutbox would display a message saying so automatically.

Set as 0 to disable.

DragonByte Tech 03-09-2011 03:31 PM

Post Markers are a Pro-only feature at the moment :)

Fillip

Mateusz0307zk 03-09-2011 03:41 PM

Ok.
Tell me where I can change the option if I use '/prune' information is
Quote:

[07-03-2011 18:50] SYSTEM: The Shoutbox has just been pruned!
Change (SYSTEM) for a user name that used the command /prune.

DragonByte Tech 03-09-2011 03:59 PM

That's not currently possible, for the same reason as stated above.

Fillip

Mateusz0307zk 03-10-2011 11:27 AM

Hi, help me I had to do (Poland) characters when I use these characters [ę, ł, ó, ą, ś, ć] there are question marks [?].

DragonByte Tech 03-10-2011 12:41 PM

Sometimes AJAX refuses to properly post certain special characters, this is a limitation of AJAX technology and nothing I'm able to fix, sadly :(

Fillip

RSNF 03-10-2011 03:34 PM

How do I disable the Idle Notice please?

DragonByte Tech 03-10-2011 05:31 PM

That's not possible, sorry.

The idle notice contains the link to un-idle someone without posting a shout, so removing it would undermine part of the feature.

Please excuse a stupid question.

Having installed the shoutbox and I am the only user (new board) how/where can I delete/edit individual shouts?

Attached screenshot of SB in case something should be there but is not.

Thanks in advance

Works OK on 3.7.3 Patch level 1

Weird though. I installed it on a friends forum.
He is using 3.7.3 He has a Xmas Style, Pioneer Style and the Default style.
It works on the Xmas Style, wont work on the other 2 styles..

I shut down every other mod he has and still only works on the Xmas Style.
Works on the Xmas Style with all the mods enabled.

Those custom skins may lack the necessary template hook; $ad_location['ad_navbar_below'].

This should be present in the Navbar template.

I have problem:

Quote:

You don't have permission to access /admincp/vbshout.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Fix it ?

DragonByte Tech 03-20-2011 06:53 PM

Yeah you need to fix it :)

Folder permissions are 755 and file permissions are 644, except for the folder as per the readme.txt file.

When i change name vbshout.php, i must change something ?

DragonByte Tech 03-20-2011 07:45 PM

Renaming the file will break it, so you can't do that.

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Change the Shoutbox Deployment setting to include the script names of all the pages you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter index, vbcms for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd remove the contents of this setting.

Step 4: Change the Manually Display Shoutbox setting to include the template names you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter FORUMHOME,vbcms_page for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd enter navbar for this setting.

Step 5: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw vbshout} (vB4) or {$vbshout} (vB3) to the templates you named in Step 4 in the desired location.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Hope that helps :)
