This is an excellent mod, however I'm running vb4 and Photopost Gallery Pro as a result I've got loads of conflicts so haven't a clue how to get around the THIS_SCRIPT conflicts such as the following:

../forum/search.php
../gallery/search.php

../forum/members.php
../gallery/members.php

As a result the wrong tab is often highlighted because as far as I'm aware the THIS_SCRIPT conditions only allows single word entry's, eg; search, members. Is there a way around this because every 'create a Navbar Tab' suggestion I've looked at so far always requires the use of THIS_SCRIPT.

If I knew how to define URL_PARAMETER maybe that would be a solution?

Please help! :(

Hello,

Downloaded:

sstab_advanced_203.zip
and
sstab_advanced_204a.zip

but I cannot find this file inside or im stuck at this step:

Import the product 'product-evbs_sstab_advanced.xml'

the file inside the downloaded folder is cpnav_evbs_sstab.xml

should I just rename that? lol:p

Thanks for the tab mods. Any reason when members login they cannot see the tab? I add few tabs and admin and un-register account was able to view fine. I check the permission everything look fine for registered user. This is weird why Admin and Un-registered can view, but not registered members. Thx

angkor408 10-28-2010 11:40 PM

I figured out now you have to unchecked all the box for the permission under allow.

Yours isn't working either mate. I agree you have successfully added the Gallery tab, however when you click on the gallery tab and view the gallery index page your tab bar has the 'forum' tab highlighted with the associated forum submenus below.

With this Mod I can keep the Gallery tab highlighted for the Photopost Gallery index page by use of the unique Photopost 'ppindex' THIS_SCRIPT indentifier, however as stated before because of the requirement of THIS_SCRIPT in both this Mod and the template hardcoding you've link to, I can't see a way to keep the Photopost Gallery tab highlighted (and all submenus present) when viewing all Photopost Gallery pages because both the Photopost Gallery and vB forum have many files of exactly the same name such as:

/forum/search.php
/gallery/search.php

/forum/members.php
/gallery/members.php

Using this MOD or your template suggestion if I code my Photopost Gallery tab submenus THIS_SCRIPT with 'search' or 'members' (or view those gallery pages) the Gallery tab fails to highlight and instead the Forum tab highlights. Can I get around this by hardcoding the Navbar template with URL's, if so how?

any update for 4.0.8 ???

bitsculpt 11-03-2010 09:42 PM

I'm new to vbulletin. All i want to do is create a new general content web page, will this Mod be able to do this? I can't see anywhere where it says i can do this? or can anyone point me in the right direction. Many thanks.

It's more easy ;)

I had the same problem, and I didn't find any solve. I was trying, as you, with THIS_SCRIPT option. But then, I tried my last attempt...

If you configure the Gallery tab as "URL_PARAMETER" and in "URL" you write the full path to your gallery, but without php file at the end (something as "http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery/"), you will have the Gallery tab always highlighted, in every gallery sections.

I have test visiting both examples in my test forum, "galeria/search.php" Vs. "foro/search.php" and "galeria/member.php" Vs. "foro/member.php", and in the first cases, Galer?a tab is highlighted, and in the seconds, Foro tab. Problem solved!!!

No, this only add new tabs in the vB menu. If you want create a new page, external to vB, you need something like this: [HOW TO - vB4] Create your own vBulletin page. And with this mod (Tabs Add System), you can add a new tab for your new page.

Regards, Gorgias!

Huge thanks for the advice Gorgias but my site is simply having none of it, even if I follow your excellent direction.

How do you get the tabs to open an outside url in a new tab instead of directing away from VB?

bposner 11-09-2010 06:01 PM

Trying to trace down whether VB issue, or this product. I have when access the BLOG tab, the sub menu for blogs doesn't show up. Is there any reason this product would control the VB submenu? I'm not talking about the products ability to add dropdowns, but the standard vb sub menu.
Thanks!

eXenZ 11-09-2010 07:09 PM

Hi pbosner: I don't think the issue is made from this plugin...

My question:

Is there a way to disable some tabs or the whole addon in a different active style or page?
In example: when I click the gallery, I want to have some other tabs as when I'm on the Forum.
How can I do this?

thx 4 help

HungryMonkey 11-10-2010 01:29 AM

v4.0.8 - working like a dream.

However, doesn't inherit the default site "roll over" activity for links. Any idea how to get it to behave like the rest of the nav bar?

Yes, I disabled the tabs application and the sub menu showed up as it should. there is either something the app is doing, or something I mis configured in the app. I'll try to load up some scree shots and yes, I set up a different style and it didn't help.

OK SOLVED
This was my mistake I had the options set wrong. After reading more of the posts, I tried a couple of things and it's all working now.
thanks for your patience.
Bill

Disregard this.

Ok here are screen shots
1. is the product with the NFX-BLOG tab which is just a link to the blogs.php file, notice no sub menu
2. If I click on an actual blog, it shows the sub menu
3. I disable the app
4. Default menu shows up, showing the sub menu

So something in the app is disabling the submenu, no? btw this is 4.08

You have a problem with another plugin/product that does not use the full server path in it's code, probably a header related mod of some sort.
I had the same problem when installing PhotoPlog Pro, the mod that shows an avtar in the header was the problem. Try disabling each mod in turn and find the one thats causing the problem.

Sharkyman 11-11-2010 11:52 AM

Grrr. No matter what I try it doesn't appear on the ACP. It's in the settings drop down menu in the ACP but I can't edit the names of the buttons (which has to be done on the left hand side?). There's no option on the left like shown in the jpg above.

Any help appreciated.

marcopolo 11-12-2010 12:15 PM

I've had this mod installed for a while but I've just enabled blogging and this plug-in stops the Blog tab from showing, if I disable this plugin I see the Blog tab. Can this be adjusted somewhere?

Thanks

Outbackmark 11-13-2010 04:06 AM

Sharky did you upload all the files, if you missed the files that need to go into the admincp directory you will not get the settings in ACP.

Marcopolo, just create a new blog tab using this product and it will show, does not matter if the other does not.

src='$tabs[imagen]' border='0'
and add:

Code:

I want to put a picture on the home button, but I can not.
So disable the home button in config and make a new one from the menu tabs.

It does not work. Doing so, the home button is 2 times. Mine with the image and that is supposed to be disabled.

123LearnToTrade 11-18-2010 02:36 PM

I just upgraded from I believe 2.3 to 2.4 and the "Hide What's New" option is not working again on VBAdvanced pages. Any idea how to fix this?

thunderclap82 11-19-2010 01:00 AM

I bumped into an interesting bug. When I hide the "What's New" tab, and then I go into "New Posts" in the subnav, the subnav buttons are all HUGE. Any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

ndenning 11-23-2010 06:53 PM

I stumbled onto this after giving up on it in frustration. I wanted to have one of the main navtabs have both a drop-down menu and sub-nav, horizontal menu that displays. As per the instructions, you cannot add a sub-link to an item that you have made into a menu. However, you have to have something set as a menu tab for it to have a drop-down item assigned to it.

So, I gave up and went back to edit the navtab that I had set as a menu, changed it to not be a menu, and saved it. Then, went to "Tab sub links" and added the horizontal row of sublinks I wanted. While I was trying to figure out how best to make up for the lack of a drop-down menu on my navbar, I refreshed the home page.

To my happy surprise, the menu I had already setup under one of the navtabs was still there!

So basically, to do this:
1. Make the menu tab you want to have both
2. Set it as a menu
3. Add the drop-down items
4. Change the menu tab back to "No" for being a menu
5. Go to "Tab Sub links" and add the links you want on the horizontal sub-nav that you want for that item.

One other thing I've done that may be affecting this:
What I really want is a static sub-nav (horizontal) menu that is the same on every page. (You know... like most Websites have if they have a secondary menu.) So, in the vbcms_navbar_link template, which is where the "Home" button usually comes from, I have added these links there. I have the Home button disabled through this mod though, and added it as part of this mod instead. So I don't know if this template is affecting it. But, if you need to do this same thing:

I've added them after the first </vb:if> and also before the second (and last) </vb:if>.
The list of links must begin with:
<ul class="floatcontainer">

I'll post screenshots once our site is live. That should be soon, now that I've figured this out.

So, if I could just figure out how to get vBulletin to let me have a drop-down that shows on hover or mouseover, instead of only onclick, I'll finally have a normal standard menu for my site!

I'm at my wits end trying to sort a menu system. If you can post screen shots of your finished menu and how you configured it I'd really appreciate it also.

Glad someone is having some success :)

Hello.
Is it possible add different tab in base to each forum where i go?
Example. In child forum 1, i see a list of tabs, in childforum 2 another list of tabs.... and so on.

neparker 12-09-2010 03:33 AM

I have the tabs menu in my control panel but it's not showing up in the forum. We recently moved to a new server, but I can't figure out why tabs wouldn't show up now.
