Hi,

Is this not working with 4.0.5?

I've installed everything, and added the xml. And within new posts it does show the "convert links to videos" checkbox and it's checked. Though the youtube URLS are simply showing as URL's.

I have VBSEO, would that cause any issue with this?

Edit: nevermind, I re-applied the fixed for 4.0.3 and now it's working fine again :)

I would try this.

This mod doesn't do that (or much else right now).

But there's another one someplace that does. Sorry, I don't use it so I have no idea what it's called.

It would be pretty awesome if a coder could possibly look into writing a short snip to convert the [ame] tags into [video] tag so folks previous posts could retain the embedded videos that have existed on their forums for the last year or so...

It's been a while, but I believe that's included.

I just upgraded to VB4.0.6 and this is the first hack im moving over. I installed it and posted a youtube video and its just a link. Then I saw there is some fix so I applied the fix and still nothing.

Can someone tell me if this hack still works? Reading this thread is confusing as hell.

DannyITR 08-17-2010 02:53 PM

This is weird. I just disable the plugin and pasting a youtube video works fine. Why do I even need this hack then?

vb 406 still doesn't place a youtube inline automatically (I just tried it), so I'm guessing you left enough of the mod intact that it's still working for you.

I uninstalled the plugin and then deleted all uploaded files. Are you sure VB4 doesn't have a video tag?

VB4 has a video tag. The problem is, users must manually place it around an eligible video. AME did this for them.

abdulbasitsaeed 08-25-2010 12:06 AM

Working with version 4.0.6.

@ guys above: You need to apply the fix given here to get this mod working.

DAMINK 08-25-2010 06:38 AM

Hey guys. I want to use this and embed redtube.
Can anyone help me getting this setup?

Can't use File Cache on a Windows Server because ame auto adds "/" to the location.
ie. \Inetpub\vhosts\mysite.com\httpdocs\ame\/ <---notice the / added, and it can't be removed.

Where can I edit that in one of the files to get rid of it?
Thanks!

Also, seems like it doesn't work with 64 bit Internet Explorer 8 either. Videos don't show up.
Works fine in 32 bit IE8 though.

Videos not showing up in 64-bit IE8 is normal. There is no 64-bit version of Flash yet, so no way for IE8 to play those videos. Adobe may eventually get around to putting out a 64-bit version.

I think you are incorrect. My IE8 64bit runs the Flash test fine, and shows Youtube videos fine (on Youtube). But I can verify that I don't see the videos embedded in my forum. However, I don't think it's an AME problem as I've had AME disabled for a while now.

I apply the fix, but get.

"vBulletin Message

If I choose refresh it does show the thread posted, but if I reply it double posts.
Running 4.0.5

Cadellin 08-28-2010 04:59 PM

I've applied the 4.0.3 fix (I'm on 4.0.6 CMS) but I'm getting a popup warning of a Database Error.

Has anyone come across the solution to this problem?

gopherhockey 08-30-2010 11:19 AM

Is there any way to embed youtube videos using html5 and not flash? Flash not only sucks, but its not friendly to most (if not all) mobile devices. As we know, tablets and mobile use is on the rise.

I've seen pages showing how you can embed both in one (for those that can't see html5)

I'd like to be Flash free with all my web sites within the month.

THanks.

Since this mod isn't working right now, the obvious solution is to uninstall it.

K4GAP 09-01-2010 03:34 AM

Does anyone know from experience if this great mod (I've used AME3 before) would have any conflicts with the 8wayrun.com Media Library mod?
