The Demo site is closed, so I don't know what it would be protecting you against. There is no known security risk with this mod. All it really does is change the look of one forum to better suit articles. Mostly it uses built in functionality of vB.

Great mod, installed.

But I wonder if it is possible to allow html code to show images.
I enabled html code to post news on vbadvanced , but the articles shown like the image in attachment below.

sparkster666 09-18-2009 11:56 AM

It seems to have installed correctly. It looks great until I actually click on an article then it lockes up the entire webpage after some time I get a time out error I am using (vBulletin 3.8.4). Here is my test site www.ligs.us/smf3_test. reading this forum it looks like one other person has had this problem but they did not respond to you.

Vital Signs 09-18-2009 04:34 PM

Would it be possible to add a little thing showing which sub-forum the thread was posted in?

At first glance, I'd say you have something else running on that page that's causing the problem, and not the article mod per se. Maybe one of your postbit modifications is not complete, because the part of the required code was part of a postbit and header edit, but that edit isn't part of the articlebit by default.

sparkster666 09-19-2009 12:23 AM

:( Ill remove all mods and revert the templates and see if that helps

You shouldn't have to remove anything. Just disable anything that affects the postbit to test it.

sparkster666 09-19-2009 01:07 AM

will do thanks

sparkster666 09-19-2009 02:13 AM

Thanks I found it. It is Activity Modification https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=177366 that is causing it :D

McMendo 09-20-2009 10:58 AM

It would be nice if the comments posted were in the style of comments in blogs, of a smaller size. As it is now, they look too much like post follow-ups to a thread.

have you any plugin for this hack

Is there any way at all for this mod to display a non-image attachment (e.g. a pdf file) as a link on the article.php page?

Asland 09-26-2009 02:06 AM

Question, I have this mod installed. Works great. I have it just as one specific forum section right now but I need it for another forum section. I don't see anyway to do this. For my board it won't work to put the other forum section I need as a sub-forum/category of the original, is it possible to install 2 instances of this maybe? To get 2 forum sections that work as article forums?

It's mentioned in the first post that he's considering adding that ability in later.

nohuhu 09-27-2009 11:13 AM

bananalive,

it appears that article forums 1.9 mod forms invalid xhtml 1.0 transitional, as checked by validator.w3.org. can you please fix these minor errors?

z0diac 09-27-2009 01:02 PM

If there is every a version of this for vB 3.7.4 *please* PM me!!! This would be *perfect* for my local sports team forum !!!

Toshifira 09-28-2009 02:10 AM

Excelent, noce mod, thanks you!

joerns 10-01-2009 12:24 PM

Is there a way of assigning a different vbulletin style to the main articles.php page? I can assign a different style to the subcategories by means of the forum manager, but the articles home page eludes me.

Cheers!

Digital Jedi 10-01-2009 02:06 PM

Try assigning a style to the forum your using as the articles home.

joerns 10-01-2009 05:42 PM

Yeah, did that but it switches to the default style.

I am also waiting for this!

cbiweb 10-01-2009 06:31 PM

From what I can see, it will only work with one forum at this time. I might take the initiative to see if I can modify the code to support more than one forum, but I cannot guarantee success, nor when I will get the time to try it. But if I can get it to work, then I need to contact bananalive to see if he will post the new code, or let me post it as a modification of his product.

Did you try ticking the Override Users' Style Choice option?

joerns 10-02-2009 04:38 PM

Yes ,thanks - I tried that too but sticks to default style.

laura66a 10-09-2009 01:10 PM

Hello.

The forum I help manage is a newspaper at http://connectedcommunities.us. Most of the publications are heavy with HTML to produce article headers.

This mod does not seem to be able to process the HTML code and just displays the raw code as the preview paragraph. Is there a way to ignore the HTML or substitute it with text from somewhere else?

Thanks.

Laura

NoKSouLz 10-10-2009 11:04 AM

Problem,

Setup: Its changing all threads in my news and updates section to articles..
Theres 3 sections which contain sub forums.

Most of them work except for a few.

When you click to post an article or edit one in the few that dont work the following error appears:

Quote:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.
How to fix?

designBox 10-11-2009 06:16 PM

Just a question.
How can be added the thread prefix into the Article Title?

EDIT: Nevermind, if found by myself.
I edited the af_articlebit template and added $thread[prefix_plain_html] before the title.

Anyone having issues with the pagination going on forever? I had to comment out $pagenav from the af_center template because the numbering was stretching my layout. There's 129 pages and it lists every single page...

Numenorean7 10-13-2009 12:51 AM

Awesome :)

MagicThemeParks 10-17-2009 03:06 AM

I want to make the articles.php my homepage.

Other than doing a redirect via my hosting (or htaccess file), is there another way?

Hi there,

First of all, thanks for this great add-on but I'm facing some problem with it.

It doesn't show the correct text but instead the code is being displayed as you can see on the screenshot.

What could I do or change to fix that problem with that add-on?

Thanks in advance

TheSight

DaffyDuck 10-18-2009 03:30 PM

Have you tried changing HTML to BBcode?

TheSight 10-19-2009 11:32 AM

Well, HTML and BBcode is activated if this is what you mean. As you can see in the screenshot...some news are being displayed correctly - some not. So I guess the problem must be somewhere else...

alencete 10-20-2009 12:44 PM

hello, I really liked this mod and would like to add an option:

Go to the last comment.

Could be done somehow?

BioX 10-22-2009 08:14 PM

im sorry but is there a demo I can look at ?

if someone installed it can they please message or post the link so i can see it ?

MagicThemeParks 10-22-2009 10:39 PM

BioX, here's my article section. So far, I've only added three articles, but it'll give you an idea of what it looks like.
