There has to be something I can wrap an if( ->userinfo["showimages"] == true ) { } around to stop the media from embedding. Even better would be if( ->userinfo["showimages"] != true ) { do whatever to get the [url] stuff from a quote/edit } else { embed }

Edit: Hrm, I just found ame_bbcode.php and am going to start poking around in there. Previously I was just looking at the plugins and where they hooked.. :)

Let me know what you find.

installed :D

JJ the Fox 01-08-2009 04:06 PM

Does this work on 3.8?

teamxcm 01-08-2009 05:24 PM

I just installed AME 2.0.2 (or so i think, the latest non beta version anyhow) on my vbulletin 3.7.5 install with vbadvanced and vbseo. Now the problem i am having is the rss feeds, its putting the link to the video but the code is messed up. I'm sure theres an easy fix for it or its a setting i'm overlooking, but i figured i'd ask here first. If i have to i can disable the rss feeds to those forums, but i'd rather see if there some way of fixing it otherwise. To view the rss problem you can goto the following url: http://www.teamxcm.com/forums/external.php?forumids=13

Or if i can include a pic i will do so here. Thanks again for your time :)

Ordinarily it should just post the link to the video: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/exte...p?forumids=146. But then, I'm using RSS2 enclosure, but I don't know if that would make a difference.

teamxcm 01-08-2009 06:17 PM

It sorts posts a link to the video, if you hover the <font... link it shows in the bottom of the browser the actual url, and i'm assuming if you clicked it, you'd be directed to that url, but the link on the rss page is just being displayed wierd. I'll see if changing the rss type will make a difference. That is if i can find the setting :/

teamxcm 01-08-2009 06:22 PM

Hrmm i have no idea how to change the datatype to rss2. I'll do a search and see if i can find anything.

Digital Jedi 01-08-2009 07:55 PM

Should be in your vB Options >>> External Data Provider

teamxcm 01-08-2009 08:03 PM

I enabled podcasting, which seems to be the rss2 feature, but nothing has changed. Not sure what to do to fix this. Its still a great mod, but i may have to find out how to disable rss from certain forums where videos will be posted :/

toneloc 01-11-2009 03:27 AM

I just installed 2.02 and I have vBulletin 3.6.4 on my boards.

If I try to create a new thread or post a reply to any thread in any forum, I get a WARNING and FATAL ERROR message.

I also have vbSEO installed.

How can I fix this so that I can use this mod?

Thanks!

Heres an example of the code, I really want someone to figure it out, so here :P

Code:

What don't work? You've installed before and after upgrade don't works? or is a new install??

tks

Gladhatter 01-12-2009 09:27 PM

Works and works grand and great and 100% of the time without failing.

Gladhatter 01-12-2009 09:51 PM

Now about this AME, I am not sure if the one song at: http://www.gladhatter.com/main/showt...7132#post17132 Played on 3.74 or not as I never tried it but I had to rename it as it was originally Where's_the_love_.mp3 and I took out the _s and still no workie and I took out the ' and it worked then fine. Some how the Ame does not see the ' or cannot read it or such. It would show up as a player but would not run the slider or play. Does now however.

PET 01-13-2009 01:28 AM

Hello,

I installed this on a new vBulletin 3.8.0 version. Also, the new version was an import from a phpBB2 forum.

I had some problems. I installed it like 3 times. Once I don't think it placed a thread prefix and I got a mysql error when trying to change settings, but now it works just fine. My errors could be from the stupid server.

So for me this works for 3.8.0 as a NEW install. I also manage to update ALL the old youtube links.

Shouldn't be your SEO, as quite a few folks have an SEO with this running on thier forums succesfully. Could you copy/paste the actuall error message?

Thanks, I've only started spending a little more time on FaceBook myself, so I'll add this to the list of updates to look over.

I'm running it fine on my demo board and so are some others. Double check your settings and your installation.

Yeah, I don't think single quotes are included in the RegEx. It can be added though.

Gladhatter 01-13-2009 08:47 AM

In my case it was just an appositive and not even a single quote pair as part of a possive name however I am sure the computer does not read that well but then mine reads better than me.

I do not know a regEX from a Regedit that I know quite well as we are old friends. I suppose it would behove me to learn what this is but it may be to do with programing that I shall not learn.

Gladhatter 01-13-2009 08:50 AM

Now I know a bit more of what RegEX is. :: http://regexlib.com/

Thank you for the oppertunity to learn.

Digital Jedi 01-13-2009 08:57 AM

You should be able to get links like that to embed by adding the character to this group: [\w/'&;%-\.]+

I didn't design the local hosted, so those defs are probably due to be updated.

Gladhatter 01-13-2009 09:05 AM

Well wonderful then how do I fix the wimp.com one ?

Digital Jedi 01-13-2009 09:08 AM

I'd have to sit and take a look at that one. I have a rather large back logged list of requests.

Gladhatter 01-13-2009 09:11 AM

Well sure am glad that I am so important to not go into backlog and you will do that right away :)

For me to update ClipFish, I would need someone to help me out, as ClipFish.de and ClipFish.co.uk now block my country from viewing. I would need two things.

Ten video URLs
Their corresponding Embed Codes as provided by the sites.

I could than update the definition, but I would need someone to test the URLs to make sure their working properly.

edefauler 01-14-2009 09:29 AM

Hello

ich can only speak for Clipfish.de other Domains i dont testing.

But the testeing ist not the problem!

When you need, i give you admin access for my test Site

There's no reason they should be working in one or not the other. Are you using the updated set of definitions from my thread?

RGVFMod 01-15-2009 01:29 PM

I installed the 2.0 on my 3.7.2. I installed the forum files onto the server, but when I import the ame.xml, I cannot create new threads. Am I missing something.

This is what I'm getting when I try to create a thread.

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/newthread.php(301) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/forumcom/public_html/includes/ame_bbcode.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/forumcom/public_html/newthread.php(301) : eval()'d code on line 1

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you uploaded all your files. They should have been uploaded all at once in order to have been put in the proper directories.

RGVFMod 01-15-2009 11:03 PM

3 questions.

1. Should I delete the folder files I uploaded and reload them?

2. Will I create a "forums" directory in the root directory that has all three folder, or will I be transferring the 3 folders to the root directory?

3. Does the [ youtube ] tag I have installed have anything to do with this?

1. No, just re-up them for now.

2. You should transfer them to your forum root. He just puts them in a folder called forums for the convenience of those of us who happen to have our forum set up that way. But admincp, includes, images, all those folders should be overwritten onto your existing ones.

3. Shouldn't be causing any problems unless someone tries to use them to post a YouTube video.
